"Nice Place, But Room Availability an Issue"
I toured Villa Fontana Retirement and thought it was a pretty nice place. It was close to me, which I liked. The memory care unit had a lot of people in wheelchairs who seemed very unresponsive. If my loved one moved in, they would probably need to share a room with another person, and I knew that wouldn't work for my mom. They did have single rooms, but it didn't look like any would be available soon.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
This place wasn't what I wanted for my loved one. It wasn't as modern and fresh as I hoped.

"Small, family-owned; great communication and nice facility."
What stood out to us about Villa Fontana is that it’s smaller, with only 80 residents. It’s also a family-owned facility. I would suggest others take a tour and meet the staff, as they are very good at communicating what’s happening. It’s a nice place for a loved one, and I would recommend it to others.

"Stay Away: Poor Care and Neglect at Assisted Living Facility"
My partner used to reside in the assisted living section with a caregiver since the memory care unit was unable to accommodate him due to lack of space. Indeed, the assisted living section was nice and my partner got adequate care. But, they relocated him to memory care and his caregiver departed on a Friday. The next day, he had a fall resulting in a broken hip. According to the facility, there was no fall and suggested his hip broke spontaneously. My husband has had falls back at home and required assistance to stand back up. There's absolutely no way for him to fall, break his hip, and then get himself back to bed. We asked the facility staff about this incident three times but they all denied him falling. I suspect some cover-up by the staff and I can't risk bringing him back. A friend, whose husband is a resident there, expressed concern about her husband being hit. One day, he took off his shirt revealing numerous bruises and spots. A lot of the residents seem overly medicated as they just slump in their chairs. Resembling ideal residents, these people don't retort or create a scene. We decided to report all these incidents to the police. I would strongly advise against bringing your loved ones to this place.

"Great care for my mom"
I really like the care at this place. The staff always keeps me updated on her progress or any setbacks. The meals look good, and she likes the menu. She enjoys joining in the activities they have. The community is clean, which makes me feel good knowing she's in a nice place. We would recommend this place to other families for good care for a loved one.

"When Touring The Place"
They were a nice community, and I tried to find the right fit for my brother. During the tour, they were professional and friendly. Having a list of communities from A Place For Mom was helpful. Unfortunately, this wasn't the right fit.

""Clean Facility, but Language Barrier Unsuitable for Mom""
I took a tour around the place, but there was a language barrier with the staff. Most of them spoke Asian or Spanish, and I know my mom will struggle to understand them due to their thick accents. They also spoke some other languages. It seemed they weren't prepared for my visit either. They hadn't scheduled my appointment, and when they started looking for someone to attend to me, I left. The place was clean, but I don't think it would be suitable for my mum.

"Place Doesn't Provide Short-Term Care Options"
I reached out to this place and sadly, they told me they didn't have any options for temporary care.

"Top-Notch Care at Villa Fontana"
From the first time I contacted Villa Fontana, the staff has been super attentive, caring, and patient, especially Precy, the Marketing Manager. They really know what elderly people need and are quick to respond and pay attention to my parents' medical needs. I highly recommend Villa Fontana.

"Attentive and Caring Staff in a Family-Like Environment"
The staff at the assisted living facility, including caregivers and administrators, are all very kind and pay close attention to residents. It feels like a big family there. However, I do wish the services were more organized. For instance, my loved one missed a few showers, and it took some time to get back on track.

"Great care at an affordable price"
The best part is that my mom gets three meals a day in the dining room. I love that it's a family-run place. The staff is super caring. The care you get for the price is amazing.

"Great care and support at Villa Fontana"
My aunt lives in the memory unit at Villa Fontana, and they take great care of her. Whenever she gets sick or has a rash, they handle it quickly and let us know how she's doing. The staff is friendly, caring, and knows what they’re doing. My aunt thinks the food is pretty good. I wish there were more physical activities for her in the memory unit. Whenever we have a concern, they fix it right away. I feel confident that my aunt is well cared for at Villa Fontana.

"Decent Facility With All Services But Overpriced & Poorly Located"
It's decent. Provides all services. However, it's overpriced and not in the best location compared to other options. It's on a congested street.

"Progressing Despite Initial Hiccups & Lost Laundry"
We got off to a bumpy beginning, but things are getting better. Maybe it's about taking time to adjust and providing extra care and attention to the people living here. The staff has been really great. The cost is fair. Sometimes, stuff tends to disappear in the wash, even when I wash the clothes myself and still, they continue picking up items to be washed. But overall, things are looking up.

"Great food, attentive staff, and lovely dining room views"
I was helping a friend who didn’t stay long, but the staff was amazing! I didn’t see any of the activities, but they seemed to have a lot going on. The food was excellent, and the dining room looked like a fancy restaurant with lots of light and big windows. The servers were very attentive and made sure to keep the sodium levels low. The dining room had big windows on two sides, so we could see the lovely gardens outside. There were also tables outside. The dining room is open all day with cookies and fruit available.

"A Wonderful Home for Your Loved One"
My mom recently moved from Villa Fontana to another place in Modesto to be closer to me. She lived at Villa Fontana for 3 and a half years. As her son and a regular visitor, I can honestly say Villa Fontana is a great place for elderly people. I loved the beautiful courtyard from my first visit. The inside is also beautiful, and my favorite spot is the ice cream parlor. The staff is professional and caring. They always took good care of my mom and kept me informed about her health. I would recommend Villa Fontana to anyone looking for a new home for their loved one.

"Welcoming Community Space"
Compared to other places, the price here is similar. They organize enjoyable activities for my mom. I appreciate the free community room where families can host birthday parties and gatherings. However, the food could be tastier and healthier.

"Overcharging & Frequent Privacy Intrusion at Assisted Living Facility"
My mom stayed in this assisted living facility. I visited her almost every day. The care she received here was more than she expected and paid for, but she didn't appreciate the lack of privacy - like when staff would knock on her door and then just walk in. I had an issue with them when they unexpectedly increased the monthly fee towards the end of the first 30 days. They justified this by claiming that I had only signed my mom up for temporary respite care for a month. This was a massive misunderstanding. Moreover, they didn't act promptly on maintenance issues. For instance, my mom's bathroom ceiling leaked and they never fixed it throughout her stay from June to August.

"They're Always Working With Me"
It's been really nice. We had a problem with my sister and her roommate, though. They were physical with each other, and my sister got hurt a few times. But they moved her to a new room, and they're always helping us figure out the best situation for her. The people here are very nice, except the owner promised to trick my sister into taking a shower, and that hasn't happened yet. The activities are great. I see pictures of their outdoor trips on the walls. My sister joins in everything and has a blast. She's definitely enjoying herself.

"Warm and professional, great amenities, perfect for my mom!"
I met with Percy, who was very warm and professional. She answered all my questions and showed me several apartments. The place is close to home and the freeways, which is great for my sisters and me. I think this would be perfect for my mom. I love the special touches like the ice cream parlor, family rooms, and activities. The bus for doctor appointments is a big plus for us!

"Beautiful New Management and Great Location, Pricey But Worth It"
Wow, what a change under the new management! It's beautiful now, even with an ice cream parlor! The place is nice and spacious, but it is a bit expensive, and they charge for parking. The best part is the tri-level care—assisted and rehab centers are really close by, which is super convenient. I loved the courtyard, sundeck, and spacious common areas. They seem to focus a lot on special diets. For the location, it's my top pick, but the price is something to consider. They have a special deal for two-year pricing, but I'm not moving just yet!

"Recently refurbished, but still feels a bit like a hospital"
The place was recently redone, but it still feels a bit like a hospital with its long, unbroken hallways. They have both Independent Living (IL) and Assisted Living (AL) on the same floor. Most of the people I saw seemed to be in significant decline, but some residents regularly walk outside for exercise. I met one lady who was delightful. There are 85 units here, including IL, AL, and Memory Care (in a separate secure building). It's connected to Campbell Villa, which has 60 units. Unlike many places, they don't charge a community fee. Residents have emergency response necklaces at no extra charge. They provide all meals and snacks, weekly housekeeping, personal laundry, transportation to medical appointments once a week, shopping trips, and scenic outings like Santana Row. It's family-owned with 83 residents, mostly aged 81-84. The staff-to-resident ratio is 1:5 in Memory Care and 1:10 in IL/AL. The bistro is open 24/7, and they have an ice cream social. There's a cute courtyard inside the building. The rooms are small but have high ceilings, and some have balconies. There's a nice rooftop garden up six steps. Assisted Living is charged on a point system for services like medication management, dressing, and wheelchair assistance.

"First place she saw, great rooms, friendly staff!"
This is a wonderful place! It was the first one she saw. She had lunch with residents, and the servers brought food to the table. The marketing director gave us a full tour. The studio rooms vary in size, with some being really big and much more comfortable. There are lots of activity rooms and lounges. The pricing seemed fair for the room sizes. It was remodeled two years ago, and the staff was super friendly.
