"Manager unhelpful, costly move, grandma felt unsafe."
The boss at Villa Santa Barbara didn't help us lower the rental fees cause we had to move grandma earlier since she felt nervous living there.

"Residents Face Challenges at Assisted Living Facility"
The staff is friendly, but they don't respond quickly. Important information isn't always shared. The food isn't healthy, and meals arrive cold. Clothes go missing after laundry.

"Caring Effort, Yet Distant and Puzzling Management Style"
They mean well, but it seems like the people running the place are far away and have a different way of taking care of things, which can be pretty baffling.

"Caring Staff and Smooth Operations at Villa Santa Barbara"
My mom has lived at Villa Santa Barbara (VSB) for a little more than a year. Overall, it's been good. The staff is caring. Like many businesses after the pandemic, some employees leave, but new ones learn fast. They, along with the managers, keep everything running smoothly. Wish list: It would be nice if VSB had an online portal to post meal and activity schedules for families and important updates.

"Mixed Feelings About Villa Santa Barbara"
I really liked Villa Santa Barbara overall. It's an older place and looks a bit worn out, but that didn't bother us. What mattered more was the services they offered. When my mom was there for rehab, they didn't have the right equipment for her, like an adjustable hospital bed. They also didn't have physical therapy available on-site.

"Limited care caused rapid decline, but appreciated financial efforts."
My loved one went to Villa Santa Barbara expecting good care, but it didn't meet her needs. When she arrived, they said she only needed a little help, but she got worse fast and needed more than they could give. They tried to help us with money stuff, which was nice.

"Happy Residents, Varied Activities"
I'm really happy here. The location is great for walking, and they even allow my dog. I'm more satisfied than I expected. The food variety is wide, and there are plenty of activities like chair exercises, mental alertness classes, bible study, happy hour, and movies.

"Friendly Staff, Tasty Food, Safe Location!"
The helpers were really nice. The food was good. The location was great! It's in a safe area. But it could use a few more helpers and a nurse.

"Best Assisted Living Facility with Caring Staff and Clean Environment"
We were super impressed by the facility and the staff. [Name removed] knew every resident’s name, showing how well they know and care for them. This place is the nicest I’ve seen, and the cost was amazing. My dad even commented on how clean it was. This was the first time he showed real interest in moving into a senior community.

"Questionable Refund Delays"
Watch out and be warned...make sure to read the contract. Once you leave Villa S.B. or Capital Senior Living, it takes them a month or more to give you back any of your money.

"Adjusting Well, But Dinner Time is Too Early"
We've been here for a few weeks and things are going well. We're still getting used to not being in the same home for thirty years and downsizing. The community is very nice, but we haven't had much time to enjoy everything they offer. It's a pleasant place, and they're redecorating, which will look great when it's done. Our biggest issue is that they serve dinner too early, around 5 PM. We're late eaters, so we've been spending extra money on meals because dinner ends too soon. That's our only complaint so far.

"Community Suits Mom, Missing Panic Buttons"
This place is fine for my mom. She doesn't like games or cards, but she likes her caretaker. They go out sometimes. If she doesn't like the food, they help her find something else. The staff try to understand her. But they don't have any panic buttons she can wear.

"Happy with the care and cleanliness"
It was tough for my mom to get used to this place, but we're happy with everything they've done for us. They're really trying hard to help her feel comfortable. We love this community. They keep the facility and my mom's room very clean. There are lots of activities for her when she's ready. The only issue has been the food; they need more choices. Overall, I feel good about the care she's getting.

"Ken Shines - Amidst Poor Security and Outdated Decor"
Ken's really great and gives his all! The safety isn't the best, though. They hardly ever make you sign in and there's often no one at the front desk. The place could use a real big cleaning and some new decorations - it's all pretty old. Luckily, my mom can't see well enough to notice.

"Affordable Villa Santa Barbara; Needs Some Improvements"
Despite already knowing the area, Villa Santa Barbara was an easy choice for me due to its affordability. While there are areas that could use a bit of work, the team here is doing their best and are always ready to lend a hand. They might want to think about a buddy program for newcomers, to help them adjust. It sure helps to have familiar faces, including my lifelong friends who I still go out with. The food could also be improved - it's not too tasty right now. Nevertheless, my experience here has been somewhat positive, and I've even suggested it to some of my pals who are in search of a budget-friendly place to live.

"'Experience and Care Lacking'"
They offer a few activities, but they don't really encourage the people staying there to join in. My relative didn't have a positive experience. It ended up being different compared to my first impression. I wouldn't suggest it for anyone who needs more than help with daily things like living on their own.

"Father's Happiness Key at Villa Santa Barbara Assisted Living"
I really like Villa Santa Barbara for many reasons. Sometimes it feels a bit too relaxed, and things aren't always as neat as I'd prefer. The place seems bit old and worn out too. However, I enjoy the folks there a lot. Most importantly, my dad is super content, and that's what truly matters.

"Mom Transitioned Swiftly to New Lifestyle"
My mom hesitated, unsure of what to expect. But after one visit, she started looking forward to the move. The paperwork was in order, the doctor gave the green light, and she confidently said 'Goodbye, stuff!' as we headed to the new place. The apartment is nice, the staff is friendly, and the food is really good. Mom adjusted quickly and found enjoyable activities.

"Wonderful Place for Mom"
I think Villa Santa Barbara is a great place for our mother-in-law. It takes care of all her basic needs for independent living, like three meals a day and transportation to doctor appointments. The meals are very basic. If there is one area they could improve, it would be there. Other than that, it has really been a great experience at Villa Santa Barbara.

"Very happy with the facility"
I’ve been really happy, and she’s been very happy too. She’s starting to make friends. They keep the place super clean, and the staff is really nice. They have a great salad bar with fresh fruits and veggies. I like where it’s located. She loves sitting out on the patio. We thought it was beautiful, friendly, and easy to work with.

"Troubles for Assisted Living; Untrained Staff, Medication Errors"
My wife's mom stayed at this center for about five years. If you or your loved ones don't need assistance, it's a decent place. But if you need more help, I'd advise you to leave. Our experience included major mistakes with medications by staff who lacked proper training and didn't seem to care. They even gave my mother in law the wrong medicines at times!!! We talked to the management several times but still faced issues with the staff. If you need more help than just basic living, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. It's a real shame as its location is perfect.

"Independent living for two in a great location"
I needed a place for two people to live independently in an assisted living facility. They changed two rooms next to each other to fit our needs. Now, they have a nice living area, meals are made for them, and they get rides sometimes. Plus, it’s in a great spot.

"Prime Location Downtown, But Feels Cramped Due to City Lot"
City Center Location is Fabulous! It's on a city parcel though. It has an antique hotel vibe. Rooms are comfortable and the center courtyard is pleasing. However, the exterior courts can be a bit crammed.

"Kind Staff and Fair Fees, but Concerns About Building Condition"
The folks working here were kind, eager to assist, and happily helped us personalize our apartment. They also let us bring pets for a little extra money, and the move-in fee was fair. But, because my mom has serious breathing problems, the various odors made her cough and her eyes to burn. The spot is excellent, though we're unsure about the building's age and upkeep.
