"Mom Thriving at Westgate Villa with Friendly, Caring Staff"

Even though my mother-in-law has only been at Westgate Villa for a few days, it's clear she's happy and getting great care. The staff is fantastic—so friendly and welcoming. The meals look delicious, and Mom eats every bite. At 90 years old, she seems to be getting back to her old self after a tough time. Thank you, Ida, and your wonderful team!

"Overall experience is good, but could use more activities."

I think the overall experience has been good. I don’t know what they could improve except for having more activities that appeal to different people. The care is okay, but they don’t come as quickly when she rings the bell. Other than that, I’m really pleased with how clean it is, the food is great, and everyone is always friendly.

"Subpar Care and Prices, Plus No Visitor Parking"

This place just isn't working for us. Everyone gets treated the same way -- they have to take baths down the hallway, and people are sitting around everywhere, in the halls and outside. Looks like they don't have enough things to keep them busy. My mom doesn't require this much care. The price is the same as other places but it's not as good. Plus, there's no parking for visitors.

"Friendly Atmosphere"

The folks at Westgate Villa are super friendly. They just need to improve their follow-up on problems.

"Caring Staff and Good Food, Worth the Cost"

This place is awesome for my mom. The staff is super nice and caring to everyone. The food is really yummy, and they make sure my mom, who has memory problems, eats well. It's pricey, but I'd pick it again for sure.

"Mixed feelings about Westgate Villa"

My mom's at Westgate Villa, and it's okay overall. Here's what you should know: The rooms aren't great. Originally for one person, they now squeeze two in without much privacy. There's only one small bathroom, no phone or TV hookups. There's nowhere for private meals or family gatherings, which would be nice. The staff is friendly, but they need more initiative. They only do things if asked, so families need to stay involved. The food is good, with options for substitutions, but it takes a while to get served. Outside, there are benches, but residents can't sit there alone for safety reasons. They should make the patio more accessible.

"Overall Satisfaction But Room for Improvement at Westgate Villa"

My mom is currently living at Westgate Villa, and I'm generally happy with what they're providing. But there are a few things you might want to know. The living situations aren't the best. They used to offer rooms just for one person, but now they're squeezing two into a space really made for one. There aren't any room dividers, so there's no privacy. The room just has one small bathroom and no way to hook up a TV or phone. There's also no place to have a private meal or hang out with other people. It would be nice if they had a small room specifically for families to gather. The staff are nice, but they don't always take the initiative. I've noticed that unless someone specifically asks them to do something, they won't do it. It's really important that families stay actively involved to make sure that everything is handled properly. They serve pretty good food, and they're good about letting you have something else if you don't like what's being served. But the kitchen staff could use some help—it takes a long time for meals to come out. Lots of residents need assistance and there just don't seem to be enough staff members around to help. The facility has a couple of benches outside the main entrance, but residents can't sit outside unless a caregiver is with them. I see why they do this for safety reasons, but it's a pity that residents can't enjoy some fresh air and sunshine unless a staff member is available to supervise. I think they should try to make their outdoor patio more usable and make sure someone can always be on hand so residents can enjoy some time outside.

"Unsuitable Care Level and Lack of Amenities at Assisted Living Facility."

This place doesn't meet our needs, it feels like everyone living here is being given the same treatment, with all the residents having to bathe down the hallway and just sitting around in the hallways and outside. It's like there's not enough activities for them. My mom doesn't need so much care. Its price is the same as other places but it doesn't feel as good. There's no parking for visitors. We checked out their sister property across the street, which was nice and had all the stuff we needed, but it was too costly and the location wasn't as good as other places. Plus, it's on a busy street.

"Mom is Happy, Clean, and Well Cared For"

The staff is super warm and friendly. There are a few small things, like my mom's hearing aid batteries running out, and I'm not sure if they have a system for checking them. But other than that, mom is well cared for, clean, rested, and well fed. She likes it there. She gets help moving into her chair and bed, and with dressing. Sometimes she needs a little encouragement to eat. For the care she's getting, the cost is very reasonable.

"Dad Prefers Day Care Near My Work"

We really liked this place, but Dad wants to give Day Care near where I work a shot for a month.

"Limited Privacy in Assisted Living Facility"

There weren't any private rooms available, or maybe there weren't any at all.
