"Unfair Practices at Westmont Brentwood Assisted Living Facility"
My dad ended up in this facility because he didn't want to burden us. The assisted living place was near our home. He always kept to himself and didn't want to participate in their activities. But they pestered him daily, trying to get him involved. To make matters worse, they charged him a fee whenever he decided to take part. After a month, he made up his mind that assisted living simply wasn't for him, so he decided to move in with us. On receiving his final bill, we were shocked to find an extra $3,500 in charges. Since I'm his daughter, I stepped in to fight this battle. They had billed him for things like dressing him up, which he never needed. The list of false charges was endless. All attempts to contact them fell on deaf ears and we never received any helpful response. Frustrated, I finally contacted the state and their main office down South, threatening legal action. Eventually, they refunded the extra $3,500 they charged him. My experience with Westmont Brentwood was all about them trying to squeeze more money out of us. I truly urge you not to take your loved ones here! And if you do, please verify their monthly bills carefully.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
The nurse wasn't great, but the other staff were helpful. My loved one's room wasn't clean, and they often ran out of toilet paper. I had to bring it myself, and they stored it too high. The caregivers didn't seem to help with daily tasks.

"Assisted Living Review: Welcoming Community with Fun Activities"
I would tell my friends that this place is nice. They had fun activities like happy hours on Fridays with music, balloon toss, arts and crafts, and bingo. The nurses and aides were okay. They seemed really busy to me. I think they had too much to do.

"Great Place for Parents to Stay Together"
Computers were down, so someone called me, answered my questions, and sent videos so I could see the unit and the property. Mom and Dad can stay together, and if needed, memory care is next door. The kitchenette in the room seems good enough. Nursing still has to approve Mom in assisted living with Dad, but since she can't wander, it should be fine. They need a Covid test and quarantine, but they can be together.

"Assisted Living Facility Fails To Provide Promised Care"
Don't get tricked by their impressive tours. They might seem great, but actually, they don't treat folks with memory issues very well. We were told my mom would get to join in activities but she didn't. Her health got worse because they didn't do a good job, and then they didn't accept responsibility.

"Declining Services at Assisted Living Facility Despite Rising Costs"
The transportation service here is unreliable; the bus/van has broken down many times. They used to organize exciting day trips for us, but those have been discontinued, leaving us with only grocery store runs. To make matters worse, the residents have to be their own bingo callers now. They used to offer a variety of snacks like crackers, cookies, granola bars, breakfast bars, and bananas. But now, they only serve the same type of red apples every day. We used to be allowed to enjoy our lunch at the dining tables and save some for later, but that's also been stripped away from us. Nowadays, if you want to take any leftovers to your room, you'll need to pay a tray fee of $7.00. Their laundry service is inconsistent. If you're lucky, you might get your clothes back the same day. But don't expect them to be folded neatly - they usually look like they've been balled up. Plus, the housekeeping can be hit or miss. They might show up one day, then make themselves scarce until you complain. The maintenance staff is not careful with their work. When they water the lawn, mud sometimes washes onto the sidewalk, creating a major fall risk. As for security, we used to have keys for easy access to the side doors. But they've changed all the locks and now we have to wait outside for at least half an hour to get in. This is especially hard for people with dogs. Despite all these shortcomings, they still have the audacity to increase the price.

"Unfortunately, poor attention and behavior from Westmont's staff compelled our departure."
My husband and I are parting ways with Westmont Assisted Living. Following his bladder surgery, he had a hospital stay of 39 days. Westmont dispatched a nurse to test if he was fit enough to return to his apartment at their facility. Disappointingly, this involved completing a mental challenge of counting backwards from a hundred by sevens, which I was prohibited from attending. What's worse, Westmont threatened to deny him readmission if I was present during the assessment. We received approval from his doctors who called Westmont to confirm that my husband was not under any restrictions and could resume his previous routine. Despite this, Westmont declined to let him come back. In the process of our departure from Westmont, we were subjected to intense harassment to the point of needing to solicit police involvement. The staff was noticeably bothered due to the true accounts of residents' experiences being shared in our Yelp reviews. They were especially unhappy that people were starting to know their mistreatment of the residents. It's clear this facility isn't a suitable place to live.

"Abject Conditions and Unfair Pricing at Assisted Living Facility"
This Place is Terrible for Assisted Living My husband got hurt at work in 2014 and had to move here because of the care he needed. We're both in our 40s. The new director, whose name I won't mention, told me I can't stay with my husband anymore. Right now, we're looking for an apartment with a shower he can roll into. But, she pushed her way into our room today and insisted that I leave. I won't abandon my husband. You're not allowed to bring food from the dining room back to your room anymore. My husband doesn't get the same services that the other people living here do. They've changed when they clean our room and don't let us know beforehand. Despite all this, they still charge him $7000 a month. My husband is supposed to have a caregiver with him whenever he showers, just in case he falls. This costs extra, but they still leave him alone because they only have two people on call. These people get into trouble if they don't answer in 5 minutes. Each time he needs help, they say they need to check his plan to see if they can charge him more. I've heard them say the same thing to other residents who don't have a lot of money. These people get so afraid of being charged more that they stop asking for help.

"Negligent Staffing, Poor Care at Assisted Living Facility"
The staff at this assisted living home don't properly tend to their residents. All you're getting for your money is empty promises. My dad has moderate Alzheimer's disease. On one of my weekly visits, I found that my dad had fallen and injured his leg. The cut had turned into a painful infection before I found it. We had to rush him to the ER where they cleaned and bandaged the wound and prescribed antibiotics. They simply don't have enough staff to adequately supervise their residents or maintain cleanliness in their rooms. Furthermore, my dad was assaulted by another resident and I was left in the dark about this incident.

"Great Memory Care"
My aunt is in the memory care area, and the cost for her care is pretty high. The staff is really good, and everyone knows their job well. When I call the main desk, they always know who to transfer me to. The main director, is very responsive. If I leave a message, he gets back to me quickly—I never have to wait for days. The signup process is very organized, and he really knows what he's doing. I rate everything a ten. The place is very clean, the staff is sweet, and they take great care of the residents. My only complaint is the food; it's not good except on special days like Thanksgiving or Christmas. They could improve that.

"Memory Care Unit Lacks Proper Staff and Activities"
I'm writing about Memory Care. Regretfully, I can't suggest this place for a family member. Sometimes, they don't have enough staff, so they reach out for temporary help who doesn't have proper training. At this time, they're in the search for a new director and haven't been successful. When it comes to activities, often they just bring residents to the activity room and set them in front of a TV. The current activities director needs to put more effort into planning real activities. The management team has to do more to ensure our loved ones get the care they deserve!

"Dreadful Supervision and Food in Memory Care Section"
The quality of care in the memory care section is really bad. People living there just roam around going into others' rooms without any purpose. No one seems to be watching over them properly. All they do for fun is to gather everyone in the main room and turn on the TV. The food is not satisfactory at all.

"Concerns Over Size and Cost at Westmont Living"
I thought Westmont Living was too big for my dad, especially the Memory Unit. It seemed focused on Independent and Assisted Living. The price was worrisome too, because the care needed for your loved ones decide their stay cost. Another worry was I had to provide his room furnishings and every day things he needs. It was clean and good, just too large.

"This Place Is a Disaster: Poor Service, Awful Food, Untrained Staff"
Ok, let me tell you where to begin. When my family and I first toured the place, the sales rep made us believe it was a proper, full-service assisted living place. But after spending more than a few months there, we realized their concept of "assistance" was barely there. My mom often needed help, but when she used her call button, sometimes it'd take over 30 minutes before anyone arrived. Surely that's not acceptable! Handling medication was another nightmare. The process was so complicated and it felt like they cared more about protecting themselves from legal issues rather than ensuring my mom got her meds on time. And don't get me started on the food, it was downright terrible. I ended up eating with them several times and each time, it was an utterly disappointing experience. Although the staff was generally nice, it was clear that many of them lacked proper training and sometimes ended up causing more issues instead of helping my mom. It was obvious that the facility didn't have enough staff and there was a rapid change in the staff even in the short time we stayed. If your loved one isn't self-reliant enough, I'd advise against considering this place. Actually, I wouldn't recommend it regardless.

"Dedicated Staff Striving to Do Their Best!"
Mom faced some issues with her medicine when she first moved here. But we've fixed that now. It seems they might not have enough staff. She doesn't like the food. The place is clean, though. I'm not sure if this is the right fit for Mom. The community feels like a hotel, and her room is far from the caretakers, dining area, and group activities. So, they can't hear her if she calls out.

"Friendly staff and great care at Westmont Living"
Westmont Living has been great for my grandma. She eats lunch and dinner in the dining room, and even though she’s a picky eater, she always finds something she likes. The staff are super friendly and know us by name. They also keep us updated on how my grandma is doing. Even though she doesn’t join any activities right now, there are lots to choose from. The cost is much lower than other places, but the care is just as good.

"watch your wallet"
Westmont of Brentwood is a nice place for both assisted living and memory care. The food is good in assisted living, but memory care needs improvement. My mom has lived there for three years, and the caregivers are fantastic. However, there's a significant issue with the executive staff turnover: four directors, three office managers, and three community services directors. Westmont owes my mom money for months, yet they insist on upfront payment each month. The monthly invoices are incorrect. It's a great place, but watch your wallet.

"Disappointed by Westmont's Facility and Communication"
I've visited Westmont assisted living three times. I checked out the apartments and even had lunch in their dining room. Honestly, the food was pretty bad. Black Bear Diner has way better flavor, quality, and looks. Plus, the place is kind of old. I also checked out their Memory Care wing twice, but everyone was just sort of hanging out. They initially said my dad could live there and then changed their minds a week later, only to change them back the following day. I asked their nurse why they kept swapping decisions, but she couldn't really give me an answer. I'm glad we ended up not choosing Westmont though, because at other places I saw staff really interacting with the residents. Both Brookdale and Sunol Creek Ridge are awesome facilities and have agreed to care for my dad.

"Great Experience"
Dad was on the dementia side, and the staff went out of their way to help him and plan the right activities for patients with mental illness. They guided us step by step through the transition, making it very smooth. Dad was always afraid of living in a place like this, but it turned out to be a very pleasant atmosphere, nothing like he feared.

"Staff exceptional, but room availability delayed. Maintain decent cleanliness."
My experience so far is pretty okay. The room they promised would be ready wasn't ready till about a month and a half later. They probably thought it would be ready sooner than it actually was. The staff is cool, they're super friendly and helpful, they really pay attention. I haven't had any problems with them. It's as neat and tidy as it's supposed to be. A bit bummed out that I had to wait so long for the room to be ready. Apart from that, in the long-term, I think I'll be pleased with them.

"Assisted living facility review: Close, nice rooms, turnover concerns."
Close to home, just 15 minutes away. Although the surroundings aren't the prettiest, the facility itself looked really good. The shared bedrooms were even better than those at Cypress and The Commons. Its layout, with a square shape, was similar to The Commons. But, like my mom's experience at Westmont of Morgan Hill, there seems to be a recurring issue. Reviews often mention high turnover among the staff, from the directors down to the caregivers. This raises concerns about the quality of care despite the appealing appearance of the facility.

I think the price is fair. Everyone is really nice. I feel my mom is well taken care of. I’ve eaten there a few times and the food is great. There are outdoor areas for residents to use. "Cleaning Staff Neglectful at Assisted Living Facility"
They seem to miss a lot of details. Even though their job is to take care of the residents there, they seem to ignore things unless you bring it up. If you need something done, you're going to have to bug them about it. But then, they actually do it. Especially the cleaning crew, they are really not putting in a lot of effort.

"A Wonderful Place for Mom"
My mom broke her ankle in March. After surgery and a month in a nursing home, she needed more time to heal. I found a place called Westmont Living of Brentwood. It was the best choice! They offered a respite stay, where you can heal from surgery or stay while on vacation. The caregivers were so kind and always smiling. They genuinely cared about how your day was going. All the residents looked happy and engaged in many activities. I felt at ease knowing Mom was in a safe and happy place. Mom is home now, but I will bring her back for visits. They don’t offer respite stays anymore, which is a shame because I travel a few times a year. When it’s time for her to move from our home, she will go there. Her words! If they have room.

"Westmont of Brentwood: Okay for Low Care, Falls Short for High Needs"
Westmont of Brentwood is likely okay if you're a senior living on your own or needing a little help. The place is tidy and well-kept, and the food is tasty. Westmont is run by a big company for a private owner. In just one year, they've had three different top bosses, but the person in charge now is doing a great job. But, when it comes to taking care of folks with mental or physical challenges, there's a lot that could be better. Families should really think about how much power and trust they're giving to the facility when it comes to medical care decisions. The folks who help with personal care aren't very experienced and there's a lot of staff coming and going. The medical techs don't get a lot of training, but they can get in touch with the residents' doctors without the family knowing. They'll call an ambulance for small falls or sicknesses, leading to stressful and costly hospital trips that aren't needed. Once at the hospital, the resident has to figure out how to get back home by themselves.

"Friendly Staff and Excellent Care, but Room for Improvement"
My mom's been there for about six weeks. The staff is super friendly - that's the best part. The care is really good. However, Mom feels a bit bothered because folks keep knocking on her door and coming in, especially during the first month while they're still figuring out her needs. She's used to having her space, but she's adjusting. They come in to give her meds and ask if she wants to join for lunch. Basically, they're making an effort to include her, which is nice. They do have some activities, but I think they could add more. That's not their strong point, but their staff is really great. The food tastes kind of like what you'd get at a school or hospital, which is a letdown. It's a good deal financially, though, and the apartments come in various sizes and layouts.

"Satisfied with the care and close to home"
We’re pretty satisfied with everything so far. It costs less than the skilled nursing facility we considered, plus it has a livelier atmosphere, which is why we chose it. The care is good, though there's only one nurse, so sometimes there are mix-ups with doctor’s orders. These issues were fixed, though they confused my mom, who has dementia. It wasn’t a huge problem, though. She’s not big on joining activities, but she loves bingo. They change things around a lot, so she gets confused. The calendar isn’t always right, but I think she’ll join in more eventually. She’s only been there a couple of months. She really likes it now, and it’s only 5 minutes from my house, so I can get there quickly if needed.
