"Mixed Experience at Westmont Town Court Assisted Living"
Overall, the staff at Westmont Town Court are nice and friendly. The food is good with lots of choices. They communicate with our family fairly well. Our move-in was unusual because many family members got Covid, including the resident. This meant no visits to help adjust or get quick answers to questions. The initial care level for our loved one wasn't enough; it was a bit confusing to get it right. Also, two key staff members left, and the Director got Covid. So, things were chaotic. I reviewed the handbook and took a tour—so much information! The hardest part was sorting out medications and getting a clear bill each month, which I'm still working on. Our loved one has been challenging at times. Despite these issues, I believe our loved one's needs were generally met. They are safe, clean, and their room is kept tidy.

"Mixed Experience with Westmont Assisted Living"
The things to do at [removed] are much better now with the new person they hired. The food in the Assisted Living section is great, but the dining at isn't as good. I think Westmont doesn't have enough staff, but the staff they do have are really good and show they care.

"Friendly Staff and Nice Experience at Top Assisted Living Choice"
Our family visited the facility in person and we found the experience very pleasant. All the staff members were really friendly, which made us feel welcome. This place quickly became one of our favorites for Grandma.

"Assisted Living Facility Undergoes Changes, Mixed Experience for Residents"
My uncle likes it here and feels welcomed, but there's a lot of changes happening that affect the place. They have a new boss, a new cook, and many workers leaving. They're trying hard to catch up because things fell behind. There aren't enough people in the dining room, but the food is okay. The person who sells the place helped us, but didn't tell us everything at first. Most of the staff are nice. They offer rides, which my uncle used and liked. There's a good pool, a room for therapy and exercise, and a theater. My uncle feels comfortable and has privacy. He liked the welcome group at dinner. I'm not sure if I'd tell others to come here because of all the changes and the staff shortage.

"Not Enough Help for Our Loved One"
When we first talked to the sales person, we thought there would be a lot of services and supervision, but there wasn't much. It's a big place with one nurse for the whole community during the day. They messed up our loved one's medication due to staff shortages, but they did try to help when we told them our concerns. We didn't eat there, but our loved one said the food was good. With the staffing issues, this is best for independent living.

"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living Facility"
This place is pretty clean and the people are friendly. The staff is okay and they help a lot, which is nice. The food is average, though I'm not sure about the nutrition. It's important my wife likes it. There are activities, but sometimes she goes to bed instead. They should encourage participation more. It's not easy finding somewhere affordable. They have two types of rooms in memory care. My wife's room isn't ideal because there's no bathroom by the entrance. She has to go outside her room to use it, which isn't very convenient. Overall, it's good, but a few employees could be more customer-focused. I'd prefer a different room for my wife.

"Well-Managed Assisted Living Downtown with Caring Staff"
This place is run very well. They have lots of activities for residents, even during the pandemic, and they're starting to have even more. I wish there was more grassy areas outside for people to enjoy. The location downtown means there's mostly pavement and not many plants. It feels very safe here. There's a locked gate at the entrance, so nobody can drive in unless they're allowed to. It's so handy having a doctor here all the time. I don't have to take my loved one anywhere else for medical tests. They always have a nurse here too. The caregivers have been very helpful whenever our loved one has needed extra help, and they really seem to care a lot.

"Great Assisted Living: Friendly Staff, Healthy Meals, and Lots of Fun"
We moved my active 92-year-old mother to Westmont Town Court about six months ago after moving to San Diego from another assisted living facility. This new place is better than her old one in terms of facility and efficiency. She’s very happy here, and the friendly staff and residents have made her adjustment much easier than we expected. My mom doesn’t need extra help with daily activities, so I can’t comment on that. She’s actually lost some weight since the move, which is a good thing for her. The meals here offer healthier choices compared to her previous place, and I often eat with her because the food is usually really good and guest prices are reasonable. There are plenty of activities for everyone, and the staff is great at encouraging participation. My mom is active (though she uses a walker) and enjoys being social.

"Friendly care and activities with tasty food; minor food shortages"
Westmont Town Court is a great place. My mom is adjusting well to her new home. Everyone is friendly and kind, and they take good care of her. I've tried the food myself, and it's tasty and well-balanced. However, my mom has mentioned that sometimes they run out of food choices. She loves the activities, especially swimming and the exercise classes. I want to give a special thanks to my advisor from A Place For Mom, for all her help and the information she provided.

"Grateful and Relieved"
I felt comfortable right away when I walked into the Westmont facility. The people were friendly, the place looked nice, and their process for taking care of the elderly was great. I checked out other places nearby, but none of them were as good. Since I needed to move my mom quickly, I chose Westmont. After moving her in and helping her settle, I feel even more sure about my choice. I'm very thankful for the peace of mind and the care my mom is getting.

"A Caring Community Tour"
I visited this community to explore care options for my mom. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about available services. The facility was clean, and they offered a variety of enjoyable activities. While it wasn’t exactly what we were looking for, we recommend other families consider touring this pleasant community for their loved ones.

"Not the right fit, but recommend for other families"
My mom didn’t stay long because of other needs. She felt she didn’t get the care she wanted. The staff was friendly, but they didn’t talk well with each other about her care. We didn’t always understand what she needed. It wasn’t the right place for her at that time. She wasn’t happy with the community and didn’t like the activities offered. I would recommend this place to other families.

"High Cost and Mediocre Services at Assisted Living Facility"
My family member has stayed at this assisted living facility for a good while, and we've noticed a lot of changes. At the beginning, things seemed great but later we started to see it decline in a lot of areas. The most disappointing part is the food. They don't seem to keep in mind what older people need to stay healthy and the food is not very nutritious. Usually, they serve fried main dishes and the vegetables aren't very fresh. The food is bought from a food supplier, likely a cheap one, and the food tastes terrible and sometimes you can't even eat it. The apartments are nice, but the cleaning staff seems overworked and probably underpaid. The staff changes all the time - it's pretty confusing and frustrating for the residents. The activities vary - they've started offering exercise classes, which is good, but there's not much that's really interesting or challenges the mind. They cut back on the simple crafts and started showing more movies. The residents had to start their own discussion groups. There's really no medical care. The most the on-site worker can do is check blood pressure - they're not even a registered nurse. If anything seems wrong, they just suggest calling an ambulance. The furniture and most of the doors are heavy, which is not very considerate of the strength level of older folks. They used to have staff present 24/7, but that's no longer the case as they keep trying to save money. On the bright side, they do have a nice library, plenty of card games, and sometimes music activities. They have a good workout center and indoor pool, plus an on-site hairdresser (the style feels a bit old fashioned) and a place to get your nails done (which is more expensive than most local places). If you can deal with the terrible food and don't really need a lot of medical attention, it's not that bad of a place. However, the cost is pretty high and the transportation they offer only goes to certain places, which can be restrictive for people who don't drive.

"Friendly Staff and Clean Community, Highly Recommended"
We really like Westmont. It’s the best place we saw for my mom. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the place is very clean. That was a big plus when we visited. Since we had to move her quickly, it’s taking her a bit to adjust, but that’s normal. She’s already made some new friends with other residents. Overall, the place feels great, and everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I’d recommend it to my family and friends.

"Care Quality Drops as Prices Rise at Assisted Living Facility"
This assisted living place was bought by a "money-making" business just last year. Now, their prices are way more than what they originally showed. A single-room apartment is now $2,825.55. If you need help each month, that's an extra $2,874.35. (That's a hefty sum of $5,647.65 each month). The new rooms are pretty good, but the old ones are breaking down. Too many staff are leaving, it seems like they're bringing in cheaper workers to save money. People who need help should be only on the bottom floor! If a fire broke out, there wouldn't be enough people to help those who can't move down the stairs if the elevators stopped working! The rent goes up 3% each year! Cleaning needs to step up and happen more often. When they check out a person's needs, some things and charges overlap, so you're paying two times. The care isn't as good as it used to be and prices are just going up so they can make more money. It's sad to see this place go down the drain.

The apartments and facilities are great, but the staff are even better. The friendly people at the desk, especially Bridget, make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. Everyone has been very kind and made moving my mother to assisted living much easier.

"Bright, modern facility with kind, helpful staff."
My mom has only been here for a few weeks, so I don’t have long-term experience. I visited many assisted living places, but most felt old and gloomy. When I saw Westmont Town Court, I was pleased to find bright, nice apartments and facilities. The staff are very kind and helpful.

"Facility Nice, Food Good"
I went to check out this place on November 15th. It's a nice place, they just painted and put in new carpets. The food is good, and you can eat whenever you want. They have a shuttle that gives you some freedom. They're fixing up the courtyard. The apartments are okay, and they have a nice library.

"Limited Meal Options; Expensive for Partial Use"

"Swift Downfall After Ownership Change!"
This place used to be top-notch, but after being sold, everything went south quickly. I can't endorse it anymore. We were once completely satisfied, and we gave them over half a year to get back on their feet, but they didn't. The quality of their food declined severely. Many of the original staff members, who were committed and experienced, were dismissed. The young people in the dining room didn't have proper training. The whole situation was chaotic. Events were taking place that simply shouldn't have occurred.
