"Average experience, ask lots of questions for loved one's care"
My family and our loved one had an okay time at the community. Our main advice is to ask many questions to find out if it's right for your loved one. You should ask about how many caregivers there are for each resident, what activities they offer, what the meals are like, and what kind of care they provide. The most important thing is to be your loved one's advocate during this process.

"A Pleasant Atmosphere for Assisted Living"
Whittier Place feels warm and inviting. When I walked in, I noticed the gardens first. The staff is all friendly. My loved one enjoys the food. Everyone there appears happy.

"Assisted Living Facility Not Suited for Memory Care."
I wouldn't suggest this place for anyone needing memory care. It didn't seem like they were ready to handle memory care patients. They were pretty bad at getting back to us or giving us updates when we needed them.

"Great Assisted Living Experience!"
The staff is nice and quick to help. The place is super clean and tidy. My Mom mostly likes the food, but a few meals weren’t her favorite. I feel good about her living there. The staff checks on her often to make sure she’s safe. Even though the facility was sold recently (which we didn’t know when she moved in last December), everything seems the same. I’m really happy.”

"Friendly community with great care and activities!"
We love Whittier Place! The community is amazing. Every team member is so friendly, and the residents are warm and welcoming. The facility is clean and beautiful. The outdoor area is well-kept with nice landscaping. We haven't tried the food yet, but next week our whole family will have a meal with Mom, and we'll see if it's as good as she says. They have many activities she enjoys, though she’s still adjusting. They offer shopping and trips on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We’re very happy with the care she gets and it's close to our family for frequent visits. I highly recommend this place to others.

"Mom's Decision"
We visited Whittier Place. The staff was nice and answered our questions. But the place wasn't as bright and cheerful as we hoped. It didn't seem as clean as other options we'd seen. Mom didn't like it.

"Friendly Staff and Activities, but Rooms Were Too Small"
The community was nice when we visited. They seemed friendly and professional. I noticed some activities happening while we walked around. The only issue was the smaller rooms, which is why we didn't choose them.

"Decent Option for Some; Not Quite Right for Us"
This place is kinda small. The folks I met were friendly, and the place looked tidy. They provide rides and things to do every day. But, it just didn't feel right for us.

"Great care and family-like atmosphere at Whittier Place"
I’m really impressed with the caring staff at this facility. My mom, who has dementia, was living alone at home and getting worse every day. Since we moved her to Whittier Place, she’s actually living, not just getting by. Her dementia is still there, but we can see happiness in her eyes now, and the caregivers are great. Whittier Place is excellent, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place for their loved one. The price is fair, it’s clean, the meals are great, and it has a friendly, family-like atmosphere.

I'm glad to hear that you've had a positive experience with the caring staff at Whittier Place! Since your mom's move, she's not just existing but truly living. The caregivers have made a difference, and the reasonable pricing, cleanliness, and delicious meals contribute to the family-like atmosphere. Highly recommend!

"A Good Start, But Few Activities"
My loved one is happy at Whittier Place, even though the move was sudden. She’s getting used to the new place pretty well. However, it looks like there aren’t many activities for her to join in.

"Fantastic Place with Great Staff and Personal Care"
My experience has been great, and my mom is happy now. She gets personal attention from the staff and feels safe in the memory ward. Whenever I call to check on her, I never feel rushed; Vicki is always honest and understanding. The food is good, the community is clean, and Mom's room is cleaned weekly. I appreciate the staff from A Place For Mom for her helpful advice. I highly recommend this community; it's a fantastic place!

"Exceptional Assisted Living with Great Care and Fun Activities"
This community is always so clean! The staff are amazing they’re attentive, caring, and sensitive all the time. The director is also a wonderful person. My mom got involved in lots of activities like bingo, puzzles, and violin performances. She even said, I'm tired from all the fun. I highly recommend this place because it’s top-notch and gives peace of mind knowing that everything is well taken care of. The community is beautiful and worth every bit.

"Hope Amidst Challenges"
My Mom's happy here, but I've had problems. I live far away, so I can't easily help if they mess up. They messed up her doctor's appointment, and she almost ran out of painkillers. Thankfully, the executive director fixed things. Hoping for smoother days ahead.

"Mom Content, My Concerns Remain"
My mom’s been living at this place for two months now, and she’s liking it. Me? I’ve got a few things to say. See, I’m way too far, like 300 miles away, so popping in when there’s a hiccup isn’t exactly easy. Take this one time: we had her doctor’s visit all set up, double-checked and everything. But when the day rolled around, they’re like, “Oops, she’s not on our list.” And then there’s her pain medicine. In just two weeks, I got calls from five different staff members saying she’s almost out. I told each one I’d shoot an email to her doc for a refill. They all said, “No sweat, we got this.” Well, they didn’t. It got to the point where she was down to her last pill, and I had to reach out to the big boss. He stepped in, sorted it out, and promised it’ll be smoother from here on out. Mom’s really fond of everyone there, and she’s made buddies too. So, I’m crossing my fingers that we iron out these wrinkles and end up all smiles.

"Great care but needs closer resident supervision"
I think they could keep a closer eye on the residents, but I’m not sure if Whittier Place does that. For example, my loved one was wearing someone else’s clothes when I visited once. They are really great, though, and they seem to care about the care they provide.

"“Assisted Living: Waiting List, Lovely Facility, Affordable Care”"
Currently, no apartments are open. To join the waitlist, a $500 deposit is required. The facility is lovely, with a well-maintained courtyard and a variety of activities. It’s not owned by a big corporation, and the rent is reasonable, with additional care options available at $12 per point.

"Whittier Place is a great choice for socializing and comfort!"
When my mom was in a nursing home, it was scary. Whittier Place, which we chose after checking many options, is amazing in comparison! It’s a friendly, open place where people can socialize, and it’s perfect for my mom. Everyone there is so nice and welcoming! Although my mom was unsure at first, we knew she needed a place where she could meet others, and Whittier Place has been fantastic.

"Mixed feelings about Whittier Place, staff tries their best"
Whittier Place was okay. The staff tries hard, which is good. But my mom's dementia is worse than most other people there. They haven't always given her the help she needs.

"Mixed Feelings on Pricing, Overall Appealing Place"
We visited this place while searching for care for a family member. It looked nice overall, but I wasn't keen on how they priced things with points. It seemed like the cost for her care could get really high, really fast.

"Friendly, caring staff with a family-like atmosphere"
There’s a family-like atmosphere here. Everyone is friendly and talks to you about your situation in a personal, understanding way. They care about safety and protection, just like any family would. They're easy to work with, and the simplicity of the place helps seniors adjust more easily.

"Fancy but Expensive and Far Away"
The place was a bit too far and pretty expensive. It's a bigger place, so you get what you pay for. The facility seemed fancier, though not necessarily cleaner or better. They were kind and knew it was hard for me to place my mom there.

"Model Room Cool, But Other Aspects Fall Short At Facility"
The model room they showed was impressive but the unoccupied room appeared older and too much like a standard apartment. The shared living spaces were not as awesome as other facilities I visited. The residents seemed less fit, and more unhappy and untidy compared to folks from other communities. Anna was a delight and very supportive. The outdoor area was pleasant. However, the location along Imperial Highway isn't appealing. It will not be among my top choices.

"Clean, modern facility with friendly staff; unfurnished rooms."
This place is really nice and clean, and it's pretty new too. The people who work here are friendly and act like pros. There's a beautiful courtyard, and the bathrooms are great for people who need extra help. The food area looks good too! During the tour, we saw a small spot where they were fixing some walls and ceilings, and there was a bit of stuff on the floor, but that was the only messy spot we noticed. There weren't any bad smells either! It felt almost like staying in a hotel. The vibe was calm and peaceful, and the other people there seemed nice. The only downside is that the rooms don't come with furniture.
