"Cheated by Assisted Living Center's Unjust Charges, Threatened Lawsuit"
I moved into Balfour because I was sick and lived there for two years. I always paid my bills on time. I left in because they had constant plumbing problems, too much flooding, and once had no hot water for 11 days! About 3.5 months after I left, Balfour sent me an email saying they couldn't find me, which didn't make sense because they had all my contact info since they were able to email me. They then gave me a bill for thousands of dollars to repaint a two-bedroom apartment that was perfectly clean when I moved out - we even took a moving out video to prove it! They wouldn't tell me why they were charging me and didn't provide any paperwork, even though the law in Colorado says that after living somewhere for more than two years, the landlord can only charge for major damage - and there wasn't any! They just kept sending bills. I don't have any family to help me out, and they tried to take advantage of me. In the end, they stopped trying to get me to pay after I got a lawyer.

"Understaffed Assisted Living: Check Amenities Before Signing"
This fancy place has a problem: not enough staff. It affects everything, especially our nice dining room. They can't hire servers, so dinner is lonely. The food is okay, but putting it in plastic containers doesn't help. If you're considering this place, check what's missing before signing up.

"Beautiful Common Areas Mask Poor Service and Quality Experience"
The Balfour Riverfront looks nice, but living there isn't great. The managers don't care much about helping, just trying to do the least they can. Sometimes the staff are nice, but they leave a lot, which makes everyone feel bad. The food isn't good, and the service is even worse, even though the dining room is pretty. Balfour Riverfront could be really good, but it's not. The nice areas don't make up for the bad service, the low-quality apartments, and the overall bad experience.

"Hit-or-Miss Service at Balfour's Riverfront Park Assisted Living"
Balfour Independent Living at Riverfront Park in Denver is a bit of a mixed bag. When you step into Balfour, you're greeted by beautifully designed common areas that are elegant, bright, and welcoming. Unfortunately, the apartments don't quite match up, but everything from the main living room to the dining room to the library and even the salon is delightful. The service, however, is a bit unpredictable. Upper management seems disconnected from residents and each other. There's a high turnover rate, leading to new or absent staff and poor communication between teams and residents. Non-management staff are great but also face high turnover. Despite its flaws, Balfour's downtown location and resident camaraderie make it appealing. However, be prepared for service that doesn't match the luxurious surroundings.

"Disappointing Response at Assisted Living Facility"
My grandma lives in this place, and every time she's had a really bad health problem that needed attention, their reaction has been way too slow and they don't seem ready. We've had to go there ourselves and take her to the hospital after a whole day waiting for her broken bones to be treated. We couldn't get anyone to help when she fainted going to lunch. We got so frustrated we had to call 911. I don't get how they can say they're a place for caring for old folks when they don't take care of them when it really matters.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
First impressions can trick you. We toured, did our research, and planned to bring Mom here. But there's a lot of staff dissatisfaction and constant turnover. The new director prioritizes cheaper caregivers over experienced ones. Some staff genuinely care for residents, but there's also infighting. Leaving an incontinent patient for the next shift is a problem. The ownership group seems more focused on profit than memory care seniors. We chose elsewhere for Mom.

"Missed Opportunity Due to Timing"
I would have chosen this community if I could have waited just one more week. They would have been very accommodating for me. It's a nice community with friendly people.

"Friendly Staff and Great Amenities"
I’m celebrating my first week at Balfour at Riverfront Park in Denver. In this short time, both the staff and residents have made me feel welcome. They remember my name and are always happy to remind me of theirs. The neighborhood feels very lively, almost like San Francisco instead of Denver. You can see people of all ages around the parks, and it’s nice to watch them from benches or outdoor cafés. My dog is welcome in the entry area and other public spaces where there’s no food. Coffee or tea is always available, and if I want to bring some to my apartment, the concierge will hold my dog’s leash while I get a cup to go. The services and amenities are just as they were described. I couldn’t be happier. I’m very grateful to Sandy from A Place For Mom for helping me find this place.
