"Renovated hotel vibe, caring staff, lacking community feel."

I visited Montage Ridge; it was nice. It was one of our top choices. The staff seemed really nice and caring, but it didn't feel much like a community. The place used to be a hotel, and it still felt like that. The rooms seemed isolated, and it didn't have the feeling of a united community.

"Fine tour, construction, location made it top choice."

Tour was fine despite construction; location made it top choice.

"Satisfactory Assisted Living with Room for Improvement"

Overall, this place is pretty good. They are short-staffed like everywhere else, but the care team is great. Sometimes they're a bit slow to respond, probably because of the staff shortage. The nurses are really good. They provide care for diabetes, which many other places we looked at do not. They keep in touch with the family really well. Transportation is only a few days a week and there aren't many outings. I'm sure Covid has something to do with that. The food is okay, but the portions are small and there isn't a lot of variety. Sometimes they take a long time to deliver meals to the rooms. They are updating the decorations, which is nice. One thing they could do better is make it easier for visitors to get in after hours. Some places use a key card system, but here you have to wait to be let in and the wait is often longer than it needs to be. They clean the rooms once a week, but it's pretty quick. I wish they would do a more thorough cleaning. They have a salon, but it's basic. You have to pay extra for nail trims and other services. Overall, they provide good services for the money. I would tell my family and friends to go here.

The staff is friendly and helpful, close to home for visits.

"Avoid, Poor Quality Assisted Living Facility"

I can't provide specific details because my mom always said, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. You'll understand.

"Likely Bankrupt Facility with Unfit Staff: Brookdale, We'll Pass!"

In late February, I brought my mom for a tour of this assisted living facility. What we saw was unsettling, with residents just sitting around watching TV or sleeping. Moreover, our interaction with the lead nurse, whose name I won't disclose, wasn't reassuring. She seemed disorganized and lacked expertise. Following my mother’s assessment, she claimed my mother required intensive care, making it unaffordable for us. The facility's administrator, another name I'll withhold, exuded unprofessionalism and I got the feeling she wasn't being honest. Check out their website and you might question if they are aware of the varying company names. The interior feels like a throwback to the 80's, though it looked slightly better in person. Also, I heard rumblings that Brookdale is nearing bankruptcy! We've decided to opt for Bellmar instead.

"A Great Assisted Living Facility for Mom's Comfort!"

This is an amazing place that has everything Mom needs to feel comfortable. The rooms are a nice size, newly updated, and designed for comfort and convenience. Our salesman was super friendly and really took the time to talk to Mom instead of just showing us around. They also helped a lot with moving in, paperwork, and medical stuff.

"Friendly Staff, Spacious, Quiet Assisted Living; Research Services Before Deciding"

I visited this place, and the staff was really nice and helpful. They answered all my questions. It was great and quite big. The food seemed good. There wasn't a front desk, which made it look open. It wasn't noisy. I think families should check out all the services before choosing.

"Very Satisfied with Our Choice"

I am very sure we made the right choice placing my wife here. I did a lot of research on this place, and everything is great, from the staff to the food. The staff members I’ve talked to have all been here for at least 9 years. This shows me they are happy with their jobs, which makes me feel good because a company that treats its employees well will also take good care of its residents. The food is really good. Every day, the staff asks my wife if she wants to join any activities or go out for the day. If she feels like it, she goes, and if not, they respect her decision with no pressure.

"Tour for Care Options"

We toured this community to explore the care options available. The staff answered our care-related questions, and we appreciated the variety of activities. However, we were hoping for a community on a single floor for easier mobility. The menu offered a good variety of meals. Families should consider touring this community for their loved one's care.

"Subpar Rehab Stay for Dad"

My dad had to go here for rehab and it was terrible. They did a bad job connecting his oxygen. He even got Pneumonia and they didn't make any effort to treat it.

"Great staff, but too pricey for us."

I liked visiting this place at first. The people who worked there were super nice when we came in. They made us feel good while we walked around and gave us lots of useful info. But it cost a bit too much for us, so we had to pick a different place.

"Steep Pricing for Cramped Quarters!"

It seemed like this community was extra packed considering the small amount of space available. Mostly, the hallways felt really crowded and tight. I also found their prices were pretty high compared to other retirement homes. It just wasn't the best environment for my family member and what she needs.

"Great Tour and Impressive Care!"

I toured the community and really liked what they offered. One thing that stood out was if my mom couldn’t join activities, someone would come to her room and do activities with her. The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms were very clean. I really liked this place.

"First Look"

During our first tour of an assisted living facility, I found it to be a great introduction to this way of life. The staff interacted well with the residents, and lunch was quite good. However, my mother wasn't pleased due to her initial attitude. She's reluctant to accept extra care, even though I've told her she can't manage on her own anymore. Despite my full-time job and other responsibilities, I'm the one taking care of her. Brookdale Green Mountain, just 5-10 minutes from my home, seemed like the right choice.

"Welcoming Community: A Great Choice!"

The community was pleasant, and the staff were super friendly. They were always ready to help with any problems. The place was well-maintained. Unfortunately, they didn't have a spot for both my parents, so we had to pick another community.

"Great Respite Experience!"

Everything went smoothly during our month-long respite. I'd definitely recommend the facility.

"Ideal care and comfort for my parent"

Nice, cozy, and welcoming place. They offer great care, so I didn't need to move my parent to a nursing home. The staff is very kind and dedicated.

"Attentive Staff"

I really like Brookdale Green Mountain because they have both a nursing home and assisted living. They were great at getting hospice involved too. The staff has been wonderful with my Grandmother, making sure she goes down for meals. The food looks good and smells nice.

"Improvements Needed in Activities and Facility Responsiveness"

At Brookdale Green Mountain, there are lots of activities. But I wish they were more exciting. The ones they have are pretty calm. I think they're good at hearing our worries, but they should fix things faster. Like, there's a door that sticks, and it's still not fixed. They're open to hearing us out, which is nice. I just want them to act faster. That's my main worry here.

"Rapid Staff Changes and Unpleasant Smells Undermine Quality"

This place has a very high rate of employee changes. It hints at possible problems with the management. Only around 5 personnel, which include care-takers, kitchen staff, nurses and administrators have worked at the facility for more than half a year. Workers who have served for over 5 years have all quit. The food is decent but they often run out. While the rooms appear clean, you can often smell urine. Despite all the negatives the exterior of the facility looks impressive. If you are considering this place for your parent, remember to ask about the rate at which employees quit!

"A Good Experience."

No complaints, good experience, mother hasn't mentioned anything negative.

"Very happy with the experience!"

My mom’s room was bright and uplifting. The nursing staff was wonderful and caring. The restaurant was professional, and the food was good. Overall, I’m very happy with the whole experience.

"Not happy with the value"

Brookdale Green Mountain moved Grandma into memory care. They said someone else needs to take care of her while she's here. I don't want to pay for two people. So, I'm not very happy with the value of this place.

"Subpar Healthcare Staff at Brookdale"

My Mom was a resident at Brookdale for around three years. Generally, most of the workers at Brookdale are nice and assistive. They are ready to go the extra mile to ensure that the residents are at ease. Unfortunately, the same cannot be asserted for the doctors and nurses. They provide unsatisfactory care and evade any opportunities to be friendly or assistive. Due to this, I'm unable to rate Brookdale more than a half-star.

"Seemed like a pleasant spot"

We checked out this place when we were looking for care options for a family member. Brookdale Green Mountain seemed nice overall, and it’s worth considering if you need care in the area. I only saw the assisted living part during my visit, but it looked clean and well-kept.

" 'Emeritus Move-In: Messy Room, Unhelpful Staff, Uncommunicated Pneumonia'"

My mom's initial move into Emeritus was a mess - the room wasn't even tidied up or the bed made properly. They just kinda swiped a cloth over stuff, which worried me. After she settled in, there were nights when mom had really bad pain and kept calling for help, but no one came. Even after I addressed this with the bosses, nothing changed. The staff didn't even have time for simple things like helping mom brush her teeth or wash her face. It felt like they didn't have enough people working, just running from room to room without properly helping the residents. Plus, when mom got pneumonia, no one from there let me know. I only found out when I visited her, which was totally not okay.

"Good Assistance, Some Changes: A Balanced Assisted Living Review"

They made a few changes. No soup for lunch now, and no tablecloths either. Almost gave them 5 stars, but I'm waiting to see if they stop changing so much. They've been really helpful. Nurses are great. Easy to talk to. Some folks are friendly, some not so much, but mostly pleasant. Compared to others I checked, it's a good deal. Mom's just starting with the activities, so I can't say much, but they seem busy. They offer assisted living with 8 different levels of care you can choose from. Mom's at level 6, needs help with bathroom and meals.

"Would have been good, but didn't meet our budget."

This was our top choice, but couldn't afford it.

"Affordable and Inclusive Assisted Living Options"

They have different types of rooms: small, medium, and large. The small one costs $2950, the medium one is $3350, and the large one is $3750. They also have different levels of care: level 1 for $775 and level 2 for $1275. When you pay for your room, it includes lots of things like meals, cleaning once a week, laundry once a week, utilities (except for the phone), and cable TV.

"Helpful Caregivers and Studio Rooms"

Nice staff, they assist with two-person transfers, but only offer studio rooms. The outside door leads to a small, dimly lit space. They also provide skilled nursing.

"Decent Place, Not as Warm as Atria, Affordable"

We found this place pretty inviting, but not as much as Atria. The staff behaved a bit closed off, maybe they warm up once they know the residents better? They had 20 spots open, which made us wonder why. The place looked clean enough and the grounds were nicely maintained. The price seemed pretty reasonable too.
