"Mixed Feelings About Brookdale Lowry Assisted Living Facility"

"Friendly Staff and Residents Costly Care and Food Enjoyed"
My family member likes the food here. The cost went up, so it's pricey for the care. They should be more proactive with my loved one. Since we pay for these services, they should offer more independent care without depending on us. The people who work here and live here are very nice. They seem happy and take care of my family member. We chose this place because the price was fair, it's close by, and the building is nice.

"Dismal Care and Outrageous Fees at Assisted Living Facility"
In your tour, all you'll see is a pretty facade. The employees seem to lack any ounce of empathy. My very own parent had a fall here, and they just allowed them to lay helpless on the floor for a distressing 40 minutes. The idea that they're actually there to help seems foreign to them. Their idea of a dining experience is laughable at best. Expect to wait a full hour for your meal, only to discover they didn't prepare what you ordered. In addition, the rent has a way of shooting up every year while the quality of their services only go down. Please, think long and hard before considering placing your loved one in this place.

"Brookdale Lowry's Dining Disaster and Shrinking Benefits"
Brookdale at Lowry might look nice on the outside, but don't fall for it. Meal times are a mess. The kitchen and dining room are both too cramped. Tables and chairs are squashed together with walkers and wheelchairs sprinkled in, making it a maze to reach a seat. You'll often spot servers carrying food trays above our heads. The slow service is another problem, with orders often turning up wrong, or sometimes not at all. Coffee is a hit or miss deal. If you're physically able, you might have to get it yourself. The service here is really lacking. Having meals at Lowry is far from a pleasant experience. On top of all this, they keep raising the rent every year while the services and perks keep shrinking.

"High Cat Deposit Made The Place Infeasible"
We got a good look at this place. The main issue we didn't like was the pet deposit. They asked us to give an extra 1,200 bucks for my sister’s cat. My sister really digs her cat. I thought that was sorta crazy for a pet deposit. The tour was nice, but it’s not the place for my sister and her pet.

"A Great Find for Mom"
I chose VAL because it's only 10 minutes from home. The staff and residents welcomed us warmly, and they offer a variety of activities. They even provide transportation to doctor appointments, which helps my mom keep her primary care doctor. The first 4 months are half-price, which is amazing! Most importantly, my mom has reacted positively to the place. However, I'm concerned that there's only one nurse on weekends for such a large facility. Also, the layout can be confusing for older folks. Overall, it's a good choice for our first and hopefully last decision.

"From Satisfactory to Unbearable: Assisted Living Facility Failures"
At first, my mom was happy with the food service here. But over time, it's gotten so bad that she now hates going to the dining room. Hot food is served cold. They're always out of simple stuff like fresh fruit. The service isn't good. There isn't enough room in the dining room for all the wheelchairs. I'm worried, and we're now starting to look at other options.

"A committed and caring community"
About three weeks ago, I had to place my wife in the memory care unit at Lowery because of her rapidly worsening dementia. What stands out the most to me is how dedicated the staff is to both the physical and emotional well-being of their patients. As I got to know the staff during her transition, I noticed how happy they all seemed with their jobs. Being a retired doctor, I’ve seen plenty of workers at other places who didn’t seem happy at all. Caring for people with dementia is tough and not for everyone, and the change for caregivers like me comes with a lot of worry. Knowing my wife is in good hands has made this transition much easier for me.

I’d give them ten out of five! We’re really happy here; everything is going well. The staff is super friendly, and that’s what really stands out to me. The sales team was honest—they didn’t make promises they couldn’t keep. I felt like they really cared. They worked with us on our insurance, which made everything easier. That’s a big deal! "Mixed Feelings: Nice Place, Friendly Staff, but Understaffed"
I'm not sure how I feel about them right now, but I want to give a fair shake. We paid for a bunch of services, but it turns out we're not getting them. Overall, I feel like they're always short on staff. The folks there are really nice, though. It's a pleasant place, and many people seem happy. They try their best to make sure everyone's okay and content. If you're paying for stuff like showers, make sure they're happening, and the place is getting cleaned. It's a good place, but - and I think this is true everywhere - they make it seem like they can do everything for you, but that's not really the case. There's a lot of people to look after, and some need more help than others.
