It looked nice when I got there, but they didn't show me around. The person I talked to said Canterbury Gardens wasn't right for my Dad. Maybe I'd rate it higher if I'd seen the whole place.

"Horrific Living Conditions and Mismanagement at Assisted Living Facility"
I've been stuck here for two years, and I fear this place might be the end of me. Most folks here are like me – stuck without enough money to move somewhere else. This place has a laundry list of issues: bedbugs, dirty spaces that aren't cleaned before you move in, too few maintenance and cleaning staff for the hundreds of rooms here. The kitchen staff keeps quitting because the workload is too much, and I can list even more. To put it simply, the management of this place is a catastrophe from top to bottom! If you love your family, for goodness' sake, don't make them live here!

We liked this place and it's a good deal financially. The people who work here and live here were really nice, but it didn't seem like the right fit for what we were looking for.

"Clean and Friendly Assisted Living with Funding Limitations"
I recently toured this community for my loved one and was happy with the visit. Unfortunately, it wasn't suitable for my mother because they don't accept long-term Medicaid after her money runs out. They have a nice open floor plan, and everything is very clean. The staff were also very friendly and knew a lot about what they offer.

"Appalling conditions and uncaring staff at assisted living facility"
This place is crawling with bed bugs and rats. Most of the staff is extremely disrespectful. They ridicule the residents, don't bother if they've eaten, and show utter indifference. They are clueless about who's had their meal or not and they just don't care. Any messages you leave don't get delivered to the clients or the residents.

"Unhygienic Facility with Disrespectful Staff and Persistent Bed Bugs"
This assisted living facility is incredibly unkempt. The staff working there act very rudely. After taking a complete tour, there wasn't a single nurse to be spotted. They are continually grappling with a bed bug problem - so severe that pest control services must visit weekly. I would never entrust them with the care of love ones. I strongly advise not to utilize their services. The funds they gather don't seem to be used for residents. They barely deserve a half star rating.

"Communication and Engagement Lacking in Assisted Living Facility"
My mom lives here. She's new. We both have questions and concerns, but can't get help. No one returns our messages or calls. I can't find someone at the front desk who knows what's going on. Mom doesn't like the food much. Sometimes it's okay, but other times it's not good at all. The place is clean, and the staff is nice. But there's a lot of trouble with communication. No one returns my calls, from the office to the beauty shop. There aren't many activities my mom likes. It's sad. No one has offered to take her out on the bus or for a meal. They should have someone to help her and others like her make friends and do things. There's not much chance for socializing here. It's a nice place, but they need to talk more.

"Great Care, Welcoming Staff, but Food Could Be Better"
I’m very happy with the care my mom is getting at this place. The staff have been super nice and made sure my mom feels safe and welcome in her new home. The business manager and nurse have been especially kind to our whole family. The only thing my mom complains about is the food – she says it’s sometimes good, sometimes not. Overall, this place is really great and does a good job using everything they have to make the community nice.

"Good Services, But Meals Need Improvement"
My dad is happy with the services at Canterbury Gardens. The housekeeping keeps his room and the whole place clean. Safety is a top priority. However, the meals could use more flavor and slightly larger portions.

"Great experience, good food, very satisfied"
Things are going great. I'm almost surprised at how well everything is going. She said the food is good, but not as good as mine. For her, things are really going well. Thanks to A Place For Mom for all your help. I appreciate it.
