"Neglected at Assisted Living, Mom Weight-lost, Bruised, Dies After Leaving"
My mom stayed at Killarney St. Cardan Manor for half a year. When admitted, she suffered from medium-severity dementia. Things seemed fine for the first few months. We even could visit her outdoors while keeping our distance. My mom seemed to be gaining weight and overall, she looked well. But I started to notice that there weren't enough caretakers for the number of residents. It seemed like one small-statured caretaker was looking after eight elderly people, contradicting what we were told - two caretakers for up to six residents. Once Covid got worse in December, we couldn't see her anymore. Calling in wasn't easy either. The caretakers were impolite and dismissive. By February's end, we chose to move my mom back home. She saw her doctor on her last day at Cardan Manor who noted that she'd lost a lot of weight - about 30 pounds. She had infected sores covering her body and unexplained bruises, including one on her forehead. It was clear that she had been seriously neglected. Sadly, mom died a month after leaving the manor.

"Very Poor Experience, Lacks Adequate Staff and Care"
This was absolutely the poorest experience we've ever endured. I wouldn't suggest anyone use this facility. They only had one person on staff to look after the residents, and they didn't do a very good job at all. What they promised us completely differed from the reality. It was truly terrible.

"Not a good fit for us."
The Cardan group home didn't meet our expectations. Nice staff, but not the right fit.

"Wonderful place with caring staff!"
Cardan Manor was amazing! My dad was tough, but they showed him so much respect and patience. It felt like they really cared for him. He wasn’t just a number; they went above and beyond to make him feel loved. He was treated like family. I highly recommend this wonderful place. I feel like God led us here.

"Caring Staff, High Costs, Needs More Outings"
At Cardan Manor Assisted Living, the staff is really kind and caring. The cost is very high, which is the hardest part because we have to come up with the money every month. My mom can't really join in the arts and crafts they offer. It would be nice if they had some outings for the residents now and then. Mom has only been there for 2 months, so that's all I can say for now.

"The Cost Is Just Crazy"
At Cardan Manor Assisted Living, the staff is super kind and caring. But the cost? It's just crazy! Trying to come up with that money every month is the toughest part. My mom can't really do the arts and crafts they offer, and it'd be nice if they had outings for the residents once in a while. She's only been there for 2 months, so that's all the feedback I have for now.

"Found the perfect home for Dad!"
My dad has Alzheimer’s, and we wanted him to get the care he needs. After looking around, we found Cardan Manor and knew it was the right place for him. The owners and caregivers are incredible. They are patient, very knowledgeable, and give their full attention to all of my dad’s physical and emotional needs. I feel so lucky to have found this wonderful home away from home.
