Garden Square of Greeley Memory Care

"Assisted living failed to assist during illness; loved one thrives elsewhere."
My family member got sick at the assisted living place, but instead of helping, they made us take them to the hospital. We had to move them out, and they've been doing much better since.

"Disappointing Care at Assisted Living Facility: Negligent Medication Practices"
My mom was only at this place for three months. I had to take her out because the care was really bad. They gave her a drug called seroquel without even telling me. I found out about it because I saw it on the pharmacy bill. Even though I kept calling them and asking for a meeting, I had to wait for two weeks to hear back. Finally, the doctor who gave the drugs to my mom, told me over the phone, that she would have to leave if she didn't take the medicine. I asked why they didn't tell me before giving her the drug and she said most families don't care. When I asked for a meeting about her care, I found out something really scary. Apparently, my mom had climbed out of her window at night. The staff couldn't find her so they called the boss. The boss found my mom hiding in the bushes. But they thought this was funny instead of worrying. They didn't even tell me what happened. The boss of the place is new and she spends most of her time in her office and not returning calls. If something goes wrong and you ask her about it, she just says she didn't know or she wasn't there. At the meeting, we discussed changing my mom's meds. The boss said she would talk to the doctor about giving my mom a different drug – ativan - and then she would let us know. But instead, right after the meeting, they gave the new drug to my mom without telling us. Next day, I found my mom unable to walk and looking very tired. I suspect they gave her both drugs that morning. The doctor had sent a note saying to give my mom the ativan because "the family asked for it" but that's not what we said at the meeting. No one would tell me what happened, they just said they were investigating. They use the term "snowed" when their patients are too drugged. It's clear that's what happened to my mom. It's really sad to think about all the old people there whose families don't know what's really happening. I finally had to take my mom out of there two weeks after the meeting.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
I visited this place to consider care for my husband. We didn't like how it was set up for him. The staff was really nice and acted professionally. The place was kept clean. Families should come visit to see if it's right for their loved one.

"“Clean, Friendly Assisted Living with Caring Director”"
My visit to Garden Square of Greeley was great. The place was super clean, and everyone was nice. The director is lovely—she still checks on my dad. Overall, it’s a good place.

"Great care but more activities needed"
They've been great at keeping me updated about my loved one. The care they provide seems really good, and they let me know if there are any problems. The only thing I'd like to see improved is having more planned activities.

"Tiny Bathrooms Need Improvement at Otherwise Great Facility"
One thing I didn't like was that they turned a hallway into small rooms with really tiny toilets and sinks. They're shorter than normal, and for older folks, they could make them better.

"Assisted Living Choice: Community Feel with Some Privacy Concerns"
In our search, we considered both Garden Squares and chose Westlake. It’s a community-oriented place where everyone interacts closely. However, privacy felt limited compared to the other option. The tour was excellent, with clear explanations, though it didn’t perfectly meet her needs.

"Solid choice for Alzheimer's care, needs improved staff communication."
The staff could communicate better between shifts. We picked it because it’s highly recommended and Alzheimer's Association approved. If you need it for a loved one, I’d choose this place if possible.
