"Great tour, but room changes required"
Our tour at MacKenzie Place was great. The people were very nice. But our parents would have had to move rooms when their care needs changed, and we did not want that at all.

"MacKenzie Place Struggling with Inconsistent Meal Plans and Staffing"
My mom's been living at MacKenzie Place for eight years now, in an independent living setup. But honestly, the past two years have been absolutely terrible, made even worse by the COVID lockdown. I totally get that it can be hard to keep seniors happy and informed, but the way they've mishandled the food situation during this global crisis is just plain bad. There are new confusing rules about ordering and getting food popping up constantly - about once a week. Now, apparently because they can't keep their restaurant staffed, meals are being catered from outside. And just today, we learned they don't have enough people to even serve dinner. It looks like there will be no dinner until [date removed]. They're telling the residents to order two lunches if they want to eat dinner. Seriously? Food is super critical for the elderly. It's how they socialize. The bigger question is: why can't they retain any wait staff, chefs, or dining hall managers? Are they not paying enough? Is their management that bad?

"Highly Recommended Assisted Living Facility"
This place is really nice. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They take good care of my grandma. The rooms are clean and cozy. There are lots of activities for the residents to do. The food is pretty good too. Overall, we're happy with it here.

"Assisted Living Delights Mom; Pet-Friendly Community Adds Joy"
My mom loves it here and is having a great time. The food is good, and she likes the activities they do. She really loves that she can have her dog with her. The cleaning service is also something she's happy with.

"Comfortable and Convenient Assisted Living with Caring Staff"
This place felt perfect from the moment we arrived. It's been a true blessing for us. The location is just right, in a very safe area where Dad can take walks. It's a continuing care community, so if we need memory care later, he can stay here and just move to a different part of the building, which is nice. The staff is wonderful, and they communicate well with us. Dad stays active with activities he enjoys. The food is great; he eats about two meals there a day. I would recommend this community to anyone.

"Friendly Staff, Helpful Guidance at Assisted Living Community"
I talked to a man about visiting this place. He was really nice and answered all our questions. He didn't rush us and even called later to see if I found a place for my mom. We ended up choosing somewhere else, but I appreciated his help.

"Warm and Convenient Assisted Living Facility"
The assisted living facility is nicely decorated, offers plenty of activities, but has only a few two-bedroom apartments available at the moment. It's conveniently located near doctor's offices and shopping centers, and the staff is friendly and provides transportation to various church services.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short for Memory Care Needs"
My husband, in his early 60s, found memory care lacking activity. Despite being a wonderful facility with amenities like a pool, gym, theater, bar, and live music, it didn't meet our specific needs.

"High Cost, Less Service, Dark Halls and Oversized Kitchens"
This place charges $1500 more each month compared to other places I've looked into. They don't even give us that much service for the extra money we pay, and they won't even help a resident if they fall. Instead, they call emergency services for extra fees. The halls are really dark but I gotta admit, the rooms are pretty nice. The kitchen is too big, they should have made the living areas bigger instead.

"Good Tour of a Well-Maintained Facility"
I visited this place for my mom. The tour was pretty good. Everything looked clean and nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. It’s in a good spot for us because it's near my house. In the end, my mom wanted to stay closer to her old home, but I thought the tour was great overall.
