Serenity House Assisted Living Kit Carson

"A wonderful home for Mom!"
Our mom needed a smaller place with 24-hour care. We are grateful for everything Serenity House Kit Carson did for her. The staff and other residents felt like family to us.

"Wonderful experience, just wish the food was better!"
My loved one is having a great time at Serenity House! The place is really clean, and the staff is super friendly and takes care of everything my loved one needs. Even though they don’t join many activities, there are lots of choices. The only issue is the food could be a bit better. Overall, it’s been a great experience!

"Disappointing Visit at Hunter's Hill Assisted Living Facility"
The place we looked at is on Hunter's Hill. The manager, was quick to get in touch with us. Unfortunately, it didn't meet needs. There wasn't much social activity. There were only female clients and the staff didn't seem as skilled as in other places we've seen. They didn't offer many activities. We thought lunch would be served when we visited, but even by 12:45pm, it was only just being started. They didn't even ask us to join for lunch. Also, had forgotten all about our appointment. Initially, we were told we couldn't meet him, but he showed up 30 minutes into our visit.

"Facility Struggled to Meet Dad's Needs, But Kept Clean"
My dad lived in this retirement home briefly, but they weren't really set up to take care of him properly. They only had one person on duty at lunch, and they didn't offer different food options like they said they would. Everyone got the same meal, and my dad had trouble eating some of it. On the bright side, they kept the place nice and tidy.

"Overpriced care due to staff shortage. Poor initial assessment."
They admitted my Dad to their facility after an initial assessment. It was a tough process moving him in as there was no room, so they had to initially accommodate him in another location until a space became available. However, not long after moving in, they informed us they couldn't provide proper care due to staff shortages. The only option given was to employ 24/7 personal care service for my Dad at an additional cost of $450 per day. We reluctantly agreed to pay for extra assistance until we could find another home for him. This unexpected expense cost us thousands more, causing significant stress and burden on my family. Despite the owner having a medical background, the initial evaluation seemed flawed as they failed to ensure adequate staffing. Their understaffing issue greatly affected our experience in a negative way and therefore, I wouldn't recommend this place.

Nice and clean place with friendly staff. Lots of snacks! I'd like more information about outings, though. Overall, 4 stars.

"Best care for loved ones; feels like home!"
I believe Serenity House provides the best care for the elderly as their needs change. My mom lived in one of their homes because she had dementia. Then she fell and broke some bones, so she needed a wheelchair. After that, she moved to a 24-hour care home, which was necessary. Both homes took amazing care of her, and it was clear they cared about her as a person, not just a resident. I was always impressed with the many activities they organized to make the residents feel special. I couldn’t have asked for a better place for my mother to live and be cared for when she could no longer take care of herself. It made things much easier for me, knowing she was in good hands. If you want a place that feels like home rather than a big facility, I highly recommend Serenity House.

"Great care and support!"
My dad and uncle both live here. They were at another Serenity House but moved to this one for 24-hour care. Serenity House has been really accommodating. I have to give them high marks for their patience. I didn't expect them to pack my dad's and uncle's things when they moved. When I got there, they had everything packed up! They have great caregivers and are wheelchair accessible. Michael, the owner, is very accommodating. They’ve made it wonderful for us!
