"Terrible Experience: Neglected Care and Overpriced Assisted Living Facility"
The room wasn't neat or usable. The call button was so feeble; it just fell off the wall. The staff didn't put much thought into my Dad's needs. They actually used trash bags to extend the pull cord within Dad's reach because it was too short. They also gave him a call necklace that was faulty. His much needed medicines were excessively late - over 10 hours and they utterly skipped giving him his oral meds. It seemed like the employees weren't even aware that my Dad had moved into the place. They didn't change him for more than 8 hours after he got there. Also, the toilet was constantly running and the water in the sink wouldn't even turn on. And despite these issues, it was mind-bogglingly expensive.

"Cozy Apartments and Caring Staff, Limited Outdoor Space"
It's a pretty nice place. I'm not crazy about living in a big place like this, but the staff really try to make it nice. They make special meals for holidays. My apartment is really nice. But there isn't a lot of room for outdoor activities.

"Avoid This Facility: Bullying Director Offers No Transparency"
Director has been bullying our 88-year-old grandma at the assisted living place. My folks fought back when we’d raise questions, but all that got us was her eviction with barely half a day's notice. She was supposed to get a complete refund but only got part and sent to a family member she doesn’t even talk to anymore, instead of giving the refund to her. Keep away from this place. This lady is totally off her rocker and freaks out if you ask her anything. It all goes bad from there. Not even Adult Protective Services could get answers from her. There's something really wrong when the head of a place won't even cooperate with the folks whose job it is to look out for old people.

"Nice Facility, But Very Large"
We toured the Independent Living at this place, and it was good. The people we talked to were very nice and followed up with me after the tour. The place was clean. I didn't love how the apartments were laid out as much. They had lovely outdoor spaces. The thing we didn't like is that it's a very big place, which could be hard for someone with mobility issues. We didn't see the Assisted Living, so I can't talk about that.

"Disappointed with Distant Room and Noisy Atmosphere"
Sunrise at FlatIrons didn’t feel right for us. The person giving us the tour didn’t seem to care much, which made us uneasy. The building is pretty tall, and the only room they had open was super far from where you eat and do fun stuff. Plus, it was really loud there.

"A tour for mom"
We visited this community for my mom. The staff was caring and very friendly. We liked how clean everything was. The menu looked good, and the activities would have been great for my mom. However, the rooms weren't big enough for her to feel comfortable. We suggest that families tour this community for their loved ones’ care.

"Expensive Living Facility Akin to Birchwood Sans Medicaid"
It's a lovely place. There's a $3,000 move-in fee and you bring your own furniture. Unfortunately, they don't accept Medicaid. You'll have a kitchenette but it will be shared with another person. The food and activities are very much like what you find at Birchwood. If you require a lot of care, it's going to cost over $6,000 a month though.

"Options Limited - Nice Place, But Lacking in Activities"
The visit was nice, it's a friendly place. But when they explained about the Memory Care, it didn't match what I saw there. They didn't seem to do too much with the folks living there. I noticed some just sitting by the TV. Didn't see many activities or things to keep them engaged. But they were professional.

"Friendly Staff, But Cleanliness and Care Assessment Need Improvement"
The people who work here are super nice and make you feel welcomed right away. The person who showed me around was really friendly too. But, the rooms I saw didn't smell as clean as I expected them to. I wasn't sure if my dad needed a place just for memory care or if he needed more help than that. At first, they thought he only needed memory care. But, when I chose a different place, they checked my dad again. They could tell he had gotten better and could handle a place with more support.

"Dad’s care and activities are great!"
This is a nice place for my father's care. We’re happy with how they take care of him, but they could communicate more. The menu looks good, and he enjoys the different food choices. He also likes going on trips outside of the community. I’d gladly recommend this place for its care and value to other families.

"Beautiful facility with caring staff and great value!"
This place is beautiful and well-kept, with great amenities. It’s reasonably priced compared to other places. I was impressed that the staff, even maintenance, knew residents by name. The only downside is the waiting list for independent living is 1-2 years. Rent covers a daily continental breakfast and one other meal. If you don’t use your meals, you lose them.

My parents are really enjoying their time at this community. They are doing well, and I am happy with everything they have done for us. It is a nice, safe place. I feel comfortable with the care they receive. The staff has been very helpful. They keep the residents active with fun activities. The meals are good, and my parents are pleased. This is a community I would recommend.

"Highly recommend this community for caring and friendly service!"
We’re really happy with this community, and my mother is doing great. Everyone here is super friendly, and the place is clean and nice. The staff is very kind and helpful to us. They have good activities to keep residents busy, though she thinks the food is just okay. Communication between me and the staff has been excellent. Overall, it’s been a great experience, and they are taking great care of my mom.

Everyone is friendly and helpful; residents are very happy here. The meals are pretty good, more on the higher end for institutional food. My experience at Sunrise at FlatIrons has been really good. They offer many activities, so there's always something to do. It is kind of pricey, but you receive a lot of great services. I recommend Sunrise at FlatIrons.

"Assisted living facility offers pleasant environment, communication needs improvement."
We really like this place a lot. I'd give them a 4.25. The people are nice, and the place looks beautiful. He's very happy and even told our family doctor that he feels like a king. The only issue we have is that sometimes it's hard to get information and feedback. We haven't tried very hard, but I just thought they would be more open. Sometimes there's confusion among the employees, so it seems like there are some communication issues. They are very attentive and always find him for activities. They learned about his preferences very quickly. Generally, the food is very good.

"Unpleasant Smells and Detached Staff at Beautiful Facility "
Justin was a good guy! But, I was really disappointed with the memory care part of this place. Walking around it seemed like the people living there were not interacting with the staff at all. They just sat there, looking upset and lost. My mom wasn't a fan either. There were some odd, not so nice smells at certain points too. Even though the place looked great, it had a weird feeling, like a nursing home.

"Perfect Home for My Parents From Motel 6 to Hilton"
My parents found the perfect home here. I love everything about it. It's a huge relief to have found a place so close to where I live. They were previously in a 2-star assisted living place in Longmont. I feel like they moved from a Motel 6 to a Hilton!

"Fancy Living Facility, but Dad Dislikes the Food"
My dad stays at this place. He's often grumpy, but he really gripes about the bad food quite often. He takes part in some of the activities there. It's a pretty place. Everything about it feels kind of fancy. After touring a bunch of places like this, I thought this one would be the best.

"Caring and Attentive Staff"
I really liked Sunrise. When my husband had a stroke and went to the hospital, they noticed how good his skin looked. They paid attention to him and treated him like a person. I always felt welcome there, and I think he was happy too. At first, I worried that he was left in the wheelchair for too long, but that changed. I appreciated that the staff knew him individually. Sometimes I wondered where they were, but other times they were very attentive. The food could have been better, though. It was nice when they complimented his smile. One day, when he wanted to go home, the activities director asked what he'd do at home. He said he'd have a beer, so she got him one. I thought that was going above and beyond. Overall, it was a nice experience.

"Nice, clean place with friendly staff and good atmosphere."
My mother-in-law stayed here but didn’t like the community atmosphere. She just wanted to live alone. I thought it was a really nice place. She didn’t like it because she thought it was just a bunch of old people, even though she was older than they were. The place is very clean, and the staff are really friendly. We still have another relative there who is doing great. We visit her for the Friday happy hours.

"Family Visits Annulled by New Management’s Fiasco"
My parents have lived here for years. When new management took over, they fired the old staffers who used to make the place so welcoming. Now the food quality is low, the facility is dirty, and the parking lot is overcrowded. There's little space for us to park when we come to visit. Their dining hall is so tiny and packed that it takes over an hour to find seating, and they're not very welcoming to guests. Despite all this, my parents have made friends and won't leave. If I could convince them, I’d move them out in a heartbeat.

The person I worked with was awesome. I still call her with questions, and even after signing, they keep giving great customer service. They’re not just after your money. "“New bosses, downslide in services at overpriced facility""
The top dogs managing this place switched up around 6 months back, and boy, things just haven't been the same. My folks still live there, but the grub's turned lousy and the place isn't as tidy as it used to be. The few staff who've stuck around since last year are the ones who really care about the residents. I bet this place is full to the brim, but honestly, I wouldn't suggest you move your loved ones here. It's seriously too costly!

"All the people are really kind."
The dining room wait staff is super friendly, and the food tastes great. Everyone here is really nice. Mom loves the environment, but her only problem is the slow response from the maintenance staff. She's been here for over two weeks, and her washer and dryer still don't work—even though she put in a work order a while ago. The internet that's included in the rent isn't working either. There are no towel bars in the bathroom, and she's waiting to find out if she can hang some up herself or if maintenance needs to do it. The maintenance staff is friendly, but they take their time resolving issues.

WOW!!! We are ready to move in. The director was absolutely terrific and treated us to lunch in the independent living dining room - it was very tasty. The fitness center and physical therapy are marvelous. Being a "Sunrise" facility, we love the pricing structure. We want Mom to visit both Sunrise and Stratford, and hopefully, this will change her "nursing home" perception.
