"Expensive, poor care, understaffed."

Honestly, there's nothing good about it. It costs a lot, care is bad, and they don't have enough staff for all the people.

The facility has private rooms and wheelchair-accessible showers. The staff is knowledgeable and kind. The house is older but modernized. The cost is $3500 plus diapers.

"The Peaks: A Mixed Bag for Memory Care"

The Peaks is a pretty nice place overall, but it’s had some trouble keeping directors and qualified staff lately. The memory care building is pleasant—clean, bright, and easy to get around. There are two lovely courtyards, and the food is usually good. However, the current director and staff, while friendly, don’t seem to have specific credentials or much training in dementia/Alzheimer’s. There’s no nurse in memory care, and residents spend a lot of time in front of TVs. If you have a loved one here, visit often to advocate for their care and provide companionship through walks, puzzles, or conversation. Keep in mind that this facility isn’t well-suited for end-of-life care with higher needs—you might need to move your family member during a tough time.

"Friendly and Attentive Staff at The Peaks Assisted Living"

The folks at The Peaks are super nice and really care about our family member. They try hard to include him in activities. Sometimes, though, things have gone missing from his room.

"Room for Improvement in Assisted Living Facility"

My mom faced theft issues initially. People took things without explanation, which was concerning. The food quality and nutrition are also worrying. However, there are exceptional employees, especially [name removed]. She's incredibly helpful, and both my mom and I appreciate her. Overall, improvements are needed.

"Staff Attention Lacking in The Peaks Assisted Living Community"

The Peaks seemed nice, but too many residents for each staff. Staff didn't give enough attention to residents.

"Elderly Care Home Ignores Rules and Gives Poor Service"

I saw workers in the staff area not using masks. I talked to the boss about it and she said because they got their shots, she let them not wear masks in staff only places. This was happening even though the county said everyone had to wear masks indoors. I'm not surprised they got a Covid outbreak that lasted over 2 months. Be careful of the "care meeting." They only have these so they can make you pay more. But then they don't tell you what extra services you're getting for this extra money. The head nurse doesn't seem to know anything about taking care of old people who are sick. When I mentioned a UTI, she had no clue what I was saying or that it can make old folks suddenly act strangely. My guy was very sick with diarrhea his first week there and nobody told me. He was so dried out, I had to take him to the hospital to get an IV. They don't answer phone calls or emails.

"Facility Prioritizes Profit Over Patient Welfare amid Covid Crisis"

My dad spent 5 months in their assisted living, but when his dementia seemed to get worse, they began making up problems with him without letting me know. They held a meeting about his care, basically saying that I had to find round-the-clock help, take him home, or move him to their partner memory care facility in Fort Collins. While they claimed they were trying to help, I felt they only wanted to get him moved out as fast as possible, knowing that finding 24-hour care is almost impossible due to the current Covid situation. The following day, as I was preparing to take him to Fort Collins, the head person told me I should be clearing out his room over the weekend. I told her that wasn't my main concern right now. It feels like all they cared about was the money and their own convenience.

"Friendly, Caring Assisted Living with Fun Activities"

This is a nice place to live. The staff knows all the residents by name and remembers things about each one. They make sure everyone feels at home. Some activities they have done include going to see a show, a birthday party for my loved one, bowling, movies, exercise class, and more. There are plenty of choices for the residents.

"Great Care and Close to Home"

We picked The Peaks because it offers good value, is nearby, and is a smaller community. They focus on giving great care, and that has stayed true. The building is nice and new, and you feel good when you walk in. The staff have been wonderful, and my mom is very happy with them. I would recommend this place to others who are searching.

"Mixed Feelings About Communication, But Great Family Support Zoom Calls"

I'd say I don't know much because of COVID-19. The staff doesn't communicate well. It was okay at first. The monthly family zoom call is awesome. Families can share and support each other.

"The Peaks Review"

Most of the reviews are from 2017. A lot has changed at The Peaks since then! My mom was one of the first residents to move in back in October 2016. Sadly, she passed away in February 2019 after being there for 2.5 years. The caregiving staff loved her, and most of the staff were excellent. However, they were often understaffed, especially during the 2 PM to 10 PM shift. The facility and activities declined during those times. I used to highly recommend The Peaks, but not anymore. When my mom passed away, the administrators didn't even send a sympathy card, and no service was held. Residents, wait staff, and caregivers stopped by when I cleaned out her room, but the administrators were nowhere to be found. Be cautious before believing what the salespeople say!"

"Mom and Her Puppy Are Happy Here"

It might sound funny, but a real person answered my first call! My first impression was great! And guess what? The Peaks is pet-friendly! It was super important for Mom to have her puppy. The staff has been so welcoming, kind, patient, caring, and responsive to my mom’s needs. Mom has really bad vision because of macular degeneration, so she needed extra help learning her way around. Mealtime is hard for her, so the wait staff reads the menu to help her choose what to eat. All the staff, even the administrative ones, help out at mealtime as waiters and bussers… what a team! Mom has learned where to walk her puppy with the staff’s help. The outdoor area is beautiful with a well-lit walking path, a fenced area for pets, and a patio. Mom is settling into her apartment… We know she’s safe and being cared for almost as well as we do. I would recommend this place.

"Impressive Staff, No 2-Bedroom Units Available"

The place is really nice, and the staff impressed me. Unfortunately, they don't have any two-bedroom units available right now, but I put down a deposit.

"Helpful staff, nice place, but no skilled nursing or Medicaid."

The sales lady was very helpful and gave us a full rundown of the costs to expect. The place is very nice, a bit smaller and more intimate. They do two-person transfers and work hard to keep residents there rather than sending them to skilled nursing. They don't have skilled nursing and don't take Medicaid. You have to supply your own furniture. The smallest room is only slightly smaller than our last place. For a high level of care, it's about $6,000 per month.

"Great place for Mom!"

My mom has loved being a resident here. The environment is wonderful, and the staff is amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone.

"Happy residents, improving care"

They seem a bit short on staff. I visit every day to check on things, and sometimes there aren't enough workers to get everything done. Overall, it's been a good experience. The people there seem happy. Things are good and keep getting better.

"Very Happy with Mom’s New Home"

My mom hasn’t been at this place for long, but we’re really happy with it so far.

"Friendly but unorganized staff"

The place is super clean, and the staff really take care of my loved one's needs. Everyone is friendly. But there's one issue: the staff can be a bit disorganized and don't handle things systematically.

"Mom loves it, great food, and secure community."

Mom is in the memory care section, and the staff has been great with no turnover. I’ve had meals here, and the food tastes homemade. They even have an anytime menu with pub food. There’s a separate dining room for assisted living residents. They offer daily activities and bring in entertainers. The community is secure, with alarms on the doors, and someone always greets you at the entrance. Mom has made friends, and I would definitely recommend this place.

"Cozy place, but too big for mom; friendly staff."

This place is nice and a bit bigger than we wanted. I thought Mom might feel too much at this place. The folks we met were friendly.

"Best decision ever!!"

I’m really happy with this community. The staff in assisted living are fantastic and truly try to get my father involved in activities. The memory care staff are just as great; they take wonderful care of my mother. I made the right choice!

"Wonderful Community with Great Care for Mom!"

This community is amazing! My mom has improved a lot since she moved in. She is always participating in activities and staying busy. The staff treats her wonderfully and is always respectful. We’ve shared meals with her, and the food is excellent with plenty of variety. I love seeing her make friends and stay active. We highly recommend this community for the excellent care they provide!

"Amazing Care and Friendly Staff"

The Peaks is amazing. Knowing our sister is well taken care of gives us great comfort. The Peaks is always clean. The staff is friendly and remembers your name. You are not just another check to them; they actually care. The care service is extraordinary. No matter what happens, they stay patient, kind, and willing to do whatever is necessary, even if things get messy. The activities staff is superb and always comes up with fun activities that the residents love. The value is really good, but their point system might be too strict. When things change with our loved ones, it doesn't always fit into one category. For example, taking pills can be hard sometimes, so don't put that in an ALWAYS category. There needs to be some flexibility so the pricing stays fair and affordable. Because of all the other above-average qualities, I still give The Peaks a 5-star rating!
