"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The move went smoothly. The place is nice, but communication could be better. They don't have enough staff. Staff should be quieter about residents in public areas. It feels safe, but they're not very involved unless it's an emergency.

"Needs Better Value and Variety"
It costs a bit much for what they offer. The activities aren’t very exciting, and they could improve the meal options for residents.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
Over the past almost year, we met some friendly faces. But some were not so welcoming; it felt uncertain, like a box of chocolates where you never know what you'll get. Maybe COVID stress is to blame. During visits, the screening person sometimes ignores us, and people chat at the front desk, blocking our way without staff intervention. It's frustrating when this happens repeatedly. The facility seems clean overall, but I couldn't access dining or public areas. They clean the apartments, yet miss dusting chairs, and bathrooms aren't always spotless. Nothing is exceptionally great, but nothing stands out as wonderful either. Communication can be slow, especially with emails. It'd help to have an out-of-office response guiding us to call for immediate assistance. It's challenging, especially with a loved one with memory issues. We can't always rely on her observations. Also, there's a delay in staff responses when trying to clarify matters. It's frustrating, but we understand it's tough during COVID.

"Mixed experiences in assisted living; understaffed and inconsistent care."
The care and staff friendliness vary day-to-day. Activities also differ, especially with COVID. We worry about understaffing, even before COVID. The ratio of staff to residents feels too low, especially on weekends. Some staff communicate well, while others rush and lack communication. We've seen staff not wearing masks properly, which concerns us. During COVID, there were around ten cases but only one loss. Weekly reports were consistent and appreciated. In memory care, there's no specific overseer, which we dislike. An incident with a rough-handed private aide wasn't addressed properly. We raised concerns, but no action was taken by management.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short"
My mom hasn't had a good time since she moved here. This place needs to get better. The other night, I had to clear the table by myself because they don't have enough staff. Also, the hot water went out for two days. Overall, I'm not happy with this place.

"'Great Need for Better Care and Facilities'"
My mom hasn't had the best time since she moved into this care home. There are many things they need to step up. Just the other night, I had to clear the table myself since there weren't enough staff. Residents had to deal with no hot water for two days. I'm really not happy with this place in general.

"Caring Staff and Fun Activities!"
My mom just moved into this community, and I'm really happy with how things are going for her. The staff is super friendly, and I feel good about the care they're giving her. She loves hanging out in the dining room with the other residents during meals. Plus, they've got an awesome activity program!

I really liked this place when we visited. The folks I talked to were friendly and knew a lot. It looked really clean too. Plus, they let you bring your pets and even have rides available.

"A Wonderful Place for Mom’s Respite Stay!"
My mom stayed here for a short break, and I can’t say enough good things about this place. The staff are professional, caring, friendly, and really supportive. The food was delicious and a highlight for her. She enjoyed many of the daily activities they offer. The community is clean, and I would definitely recommend it!

"Inconsistent Care and Communication at Mountain Laurel"
My mom recently moved into Mountain Laurel. At first, the people who showed us around and the nurse were really nice and understanding. Since moving here was stressful for both me and my mom, I really liked how they tried to make us feel better. When it came to making a plan for my mom's care, though, I felt like they were a bit too relaxed about it, especially considering how much it costs. I don't think the nurse did a thorough check of my mom's needs. After the first weekend, when my mom was left alone to figure things out, I had to step in and email the nurse. She called me back and seemed a little annoyed that I was asking for more help for my mom. I calmly talked with her about what was going on, and we agreed that my mom needed more care. However, I never got anything in writing about it. I think it would have been helpful to have that.

"Decent facility, lacking thorough care plan and communication."
My mom just moved into Mountain Laurel. At first, the people who showed us around and the nurse were really nice. Since it was a tough change for both me and my mom, I was glad for their support. However, when it came to making a plan for my mom's care, it felt like they were a bit too relaxed about it, especially considering how much we're paying. I don't think the nurse looked into things carefully enough. After the first weekend, when my mom seemed a bit lost, I reached out to the nurse by email. When she called back, she seemed a little annoyed that I was asking for more help for my mom. But I calmly talked to her about it, and we agreed that more care was needed. However, I never got anything written down about it, which I think would have been helpful.

"Sunrise Memory Haven"
My mom likes the place and the food! The staff is really nice and pays attention. My only worry is that it's hard to reach her on the main phone since she doesn't have one in her room due to her dementia.

"Great care and friendly staff, but quite expensive"
My loved one has only been at Brookdale Mountain Laurel for a few weeks, but so far, our experience has been really great! The staff is amazing; they are super nice and always quick to help with any requests or suggestions. The facility is clean and well-maintained, and they take excellent care of the residents. However, it is quite pricey.

"Good Facility But Opted For Another Option"
We really enjoyed this place, including the memory care and assisted living parts. The split studio is a great choice. We've decided, though, to go with another place. Honestly, there's no one reason that made us choose this. The staff was friendly and gave us every piece of information we requested.

"Clean and Friendly Facility"
I visited this place when I was exploring care choices for a family member. The building was tidy and neat, and everyone I met on staff was kind and professional. However, my loved one needed more care than they offer here. Still, it's worth checking out if you're considering assisted living.

"A Bittersweet Time at Brookdale Mountain Laurel"
Our time with Brookdale Mountain Laurel hasn't been all roses. The actual building is really cool, and it's always clean and tidy. The nursing staff are super nice and take good care of everyone. The bosses, though, aren't that friendly and can be tough to reach. Plus, it costs a fortune, but they might give you a break on the price and what's included if you chat with them.

"Decent facility with attentive staff, lacking in follow-through."
Our family member just moved in here recently, and overall, we're happy with Emeritus at Mount Laurel. The place looks nice and clean, and the staff are friendly and act like pros in taking care of everyone. But, after the move-in, they said they'd check back in with us in two weeks, but I had to be the one to set up that meeting. Also, I had to remind them more than once to do a few things they promised us when we were signing up.

"Well-Maintained and Recommended Community"
I toured this place while looking for care options for a loved one. I visited a few Emeritus communities, and I was impressed by the overall quality of all of them. This community was well-kept, and I liked their policy of upgrading and renovating rooms for new residents. I didn't choose this specific Emeritus community because of location and logistics, but I would definitely recommend it to other families.

"Top Assisted Living Option"
This place also offers assisted living, and it would have been my second choice. It's super clean, and if my mom could have stayed in assisted living instead of memory care, that would have been my top pick. They do have a memory care floor, but there are only a few rooms available.

"Emeritus Purchase Diminishes Quality of Mt Laurel Facility"
The recent purchase of Mt Laurel by Emeritus seems to have led to some significant changes and they aren't exactly for the better. My dad moved into Mt Laurel based on a friend's suggestion and also after we had a look at some other places too. But the difference between my friend's past experience and what we're seeing now is frankly quite disappointing. The staff is polite and friendly, however, it's obvious they need more hands on deck and also people who are better trained. The nursing director who finally left was really of no help; her replacement is trying but so far, there hasn't been much improvement. Some nursing aides are doing a great job while some others it seems like they couldn't care less, and need to be let go. The food service isn't up to par either, the meals are often served cold and take too long to be served. I think if we weren't so pressed for time, we would have done a bit more research and probably chosen a different place. Unfortunately most places around here are run by Emeritus and are likely not much different.

"Great tour with Jeff. The Alzheimer's community was active."
Had a great tour with Jeff. The Alzheimer's community had lots of activities. I saw one happening, and it was excellent. Loved that the community is right next to a skilled nursing center. The only downside might be the price. It was the highest of all the places we visited.

"Great Assisted Living Facility with Some Limitations"
This place is great for assisted living, but not as good for independent living. The staff takes good care of residents, but the living spaces are quite small. It's a bit complicated to qualify for extra space.
