The workers here are consistently welcoming, treating everybody with compassion, even when residents can be tough or upset. It's impressive how mild and gentle they consistently stay. I've already praised this place to my loved ones.

"Brighton Gardens - Supportive Staff, No Sales Tactics"
At first glance, Brighton Gardens seemed different than the rest. Unlike other places, which felt like pushy car salesmen or typical apartments, Brighton Gardens had an understanding that this process was emotionally challenging. They treated me with humanity, never once bringing up "limited time deals" or "rush to act" strategies. The staff at Brighton Gardens were friendly and truly valued maintaining the dignity of our parents.

"Brighton Gardens: Outstanding Community and Amenities for Loved Ones"
Our beloved family members are still adjusting to their new living situations, but they seem to be having fun in the community and enjoying the various activities being offered. The food and dining services stand out, they are excellent. This place, Brighton Gardens, was the most fitting for us and it is conveniently located. We think other families would benefit from our experience and we suggest considering Brighton Gardens.

"A Decent and Accommodating Assisted Living Facility with Good Management"
This place might be ideal for other people's family members. The overall ambiance is pretty decent. The management is excellent and quite approachable, and they interact really well with all family members. The staff maintain a decent level of communication with both the residents and their families. They serve three meals per day and try their best to provide coffee and snacks when residents ask for them. There's also a monthly calendar of activities that residents can check out and decide if they want to participate in. It would be easier if they added a feature for automatic monthly payments.

"Headline: Neglected Care and Unhelpful Nurses at Assisted Living Facility"
Our experience wasn't good at this assisted living facility. While the director and the aids were nice, the two main nurses were problems. They overlooked our loved one's needs, and our loved one suffered from serious dehydration and a harsh UTI. She ended up in the hospital, and that's when we discovered she had gotten C diff at the facility. The nurses didn't inform the rest of the staff or the aids about the C diff — we had to tell them because it can spread easily. We think the nurses neglected our loved one. One of them was rude to us. Also, her bathroom was really gross. We, not the nurses, had to call an ambulance for our loved one two times. All the other staff were great except the main two nurses. The aids took excellent care of our mom, and the people at the front desk were kind. The director spent lots of time with our mom and genuinely cared for her.

"Outstanding Staff, Beautiful Grounds, and Excellent Amenities at Assisted Living Facility"
We'd definitely award the staff a perfect score if we could, they're amazing. The facility's landscape is breathtaking, with lovely flowers adorning the environment. The available rooms for tenants are impressive, offering ample space and a warm, homey feel. Our relative was a bit selective about participating in activities, but options included activities like bingo, card games, and a shuttle service for trips to the casino. They also provide a large library, complete with an audio system for those having trouble with reading. For those of Italian heritage, a Catholic school nearby organizes an Italian fest that includes a grand food spread. Our family member tends to be finicky with her meals, but she completely adores the food here and is very content with it.

"A Long Journey to BG: A Family's Successful Transition into Assisted Living"
My mother fell gravely sick last summer at her home in TR NJ. Following a long hospital stay and rehab, we had to make the tough call to move her to CT, closer to us. Mom wasn't involved in the process because of her health condition. We told the rehab center in NJ that we wouldn't leave her there, so they discharged her with short notice. The Staff was very accommodating, meeting my sister and me on a Sunday. He arranged for someone from Sunrise to assess Mom's condition at the NJ rehab. He did everything possible to facilitate her quick transfer. We had seen some negative reviews online but checked official records for any health or service violations before deciding to move her to BG. They let us move her over a holiday weekend since the NJ facility gave short notice of her discharge date. Since arriving, Mom's health has improved, and she thinks of BG as her home. The staff is kind and mindful of her care and recovery. They cater to her by giving her options for her clothes and activities since she now uses a wheelchair. She enjoys her meals and over time, seems happier. The Staff, the ED, answered all our questions promptly, and the receptionists are always ready to help. Deciding to bring her pet cat after the first month was a last-minute decision, but the staff has been great with the staff I urge you to consider BG, visit the facility, check all records, talk to the staff, and see for yourself the factors you need to weigh for a decision of this magnitude. We've found the staff to be kind and attentive, especially the Director of Facilities who responds to complaints swiftly. Having Mom close by where my siblings and I can see she's happy is a plus. We've also become friends with other families here. For us, it's a win-win. Let me also mention the staff..

"A Heartbreaking Yet Beautiful Memory at Brighton Gardens"
My mom was at Brighton Gardens in Stamford for the last eight months of her life. The people who work there are really nice. They would let my family come see her anytime & I enjoyed helping my mom out and hanging out with her all the time. There were a lot of cool stuff for the seniors to do. Sometimes I had to wait for mom to be done with her stuff but it was pretty nice because they would let me join in. I really felt like the people there were glad to see me. Now, I should say that this isn't just about Brighton Gardens. It's every place like this. Most of the helpers are nice, but like everywhere else, they could use more people working there. They're kept busy, and everybody has good days and bad days. But they kept the place clean no matter what. They really made sure my mom had what she needed, like being dressed nice. They would put on the outfits I picked out for mom a couple of weeks ahead. And it wasn't easy, because my mom was in a wheelchair & needed help getting dressed. My mom cared a lot about looking nice. She didn't want to wear stretchy pants - she liked her jeans and button-down shirts. They really took the time to dress her and make her feel special. She always had her hair, nails and makeup done by the person who worked there. They were really good at dealing with different types of people. We didn't have any big problems. And any small problems were handled right away. They were respectful to the patients and families. If you asked for something, they really tried to do it. But remember, people in these places need help from their families to make sure they have everything they need. Sometimes the seniors need a little nudge. So the families have to keep in touch with the helpers. The helpers are always willing to work with you. You have to stand up for your loved one. It takes work from everybody involved. Old folks can't just be left alone. They need help from people who care about them. Brighton Gardens cared about my mom and me. If we had a complaint they took it seriously and tried to fix it. If they didn't, I told them and they fixed it quickly. My mom really loved BG. It was hard for me to accept that my mom was getting old and needed help. I can't think of a better place for her to spend her last days. Remember, no situation is perfect, especially when you're dealing with really emotional stuff. We can't just leave our old parents in a place and not help them. When we send our kids to school, we still have to help them at home. It's not just the school's job to raise your kids. It's the same with old folks, we need to lend a hand. I spent my mom's last eight months with her at Brighton Gardens, thanks to their staff! I miss my mom, her friends, and the people that work there. We had so many fun times! I miss you and love you, mom! Thanks, Brighton, for the good times!

"Unsatisfactory Care and Poor Management at Assisted Living Facility"
My mother resided at this facility for around a year and while she did experience some adequate care, the weekends were a different story. It felt as if the place was deserted with hardly a caregiver or nurse in sight. Many occasions, my 90-year-old mom was left to navigate things on her own and frequently fell. Whenever we inquired about her falls, they told us she should have waited for help. But I was there every weekend, providing payment for the help that was continuously absent, eventually having to step in and take care of her myself. The person managing the facility blatantly lacked people skills. He seemed utterly disconnected from the goings-on of the place and didn't seem to possess a level of concern that one would expect from a manager. He was often observed flirting with the staff or absent for significant periods, behavior I watched and noted repeatedly. The facility itself is in desperate need of a makeover, and the quality of the food leaves much to be desired. The establishment could use some waitstaff because, by the time the meals reached the residents, they were already cold. I've personally experienced this first-hand. If they improved pay and staffed the right number of employees, this place could be more efficient.

"Leadership Lacking at Assisted Living Facility"
This place is a mixed bag. Most of the folks here are nice, but the folks in charge don't seem to know what they're doing and people are always leaving. Since my folks moved in, they've had three different directors. I'm not sure why. There's always a shortage of caregivers which means residents mostly take care of themselves. The rest of the staff seems worn out. The best employees end up quitting and get replaced every few months. The building is always having problems like heating or air conditioning issues, leaks, and other stuff breaking all the time. The residents are the ones stuck paying for these fixes. There's only one maintenance guy for the entire place, indoors and outdoors, and he always looks beat. The food is okay, but it's nothing to write home about. It looks like they're more worried about keeping costs down than providing quality meals. I'd move my parents if they weren't so settled in, but let's just say you could probably find a better place for your money.

"Brighton Gardens: Failed Promises and Poorly Managed Staff"
Brighton Gardens of Stamford doesn't live up to its big promises. The food they serve isn't good quality and they often run out. The activities are dull and many of the residents are upset because they're so bored. The sales team sure knows how to sell it, but the staff doesn't deliver on their promises. They're always understaffed and the staff that is there doesn't work quickly. My Mom was stuck on the floor in her room for 3 hours. She pressed her call button for help, but no one came. They later claimed that "she never pressed it, it didn't register". Now, I'm thinking of moving Mom to a different home.

"Brighton Gardens: Kind Staff, Inadequate Care"
Cons: Brighton Gardens of Stamford hasn't been a good fit for my mom. The nursing staff didn't handle her medical needs well; she ended up taking medication she shouldn't have and got sick from it. The food leaves much to be desired, unless your loved one enjoys a diet full of white bread, starch, cream, and sugar. The wait for meals is lengthy and the service is often confusing. The caregivers don't take their time when assisting residents with personal care tasks, like hair combing and getting dressed. This rush might make the process faster, but it can leave residents feeling helpless and overly-dependent. There are some additional, hidden costs to be aware of as well. For instance, needing vitamins comes with an extra fee. Accompanying your loved one to an off-site doctor's appointment with a caregiver who serves as your loved one's advocate will cost $25 an hour. This can add up quite fast. Also, there have been instances of unwanted intrusion into my mom's room and disturbed privacy, which the staff hasn't effectively handled. Pros: Despite these drawbacks, the staff at Brighton Gardens is genuinely friendly and committed to creating a positive atmosphere. The facility is well-maintained, and the entertainment is refreshingly sophisticated yet fun at the same time. Special kudos to the extremely patient and compassionate front desk staff. Also, the resident dog is a charming addition.

"Brighton Gardens: A Safe and Caring Place for Mom"
Brighton Gardens is a great assisted living place. My mom, who has Alzheimer’s, has been there for almost two months and she’s doing well. They have a special section just for people with Alzheimer’s, and all the doors are locked to prevent wandering. There’s a beautiful courtyard for her to enjoy when the weather is nice. It’s fenced in and the gates are locked too. The place is clean and bright. The staff are friendly and caring. If there’s a problem, big or small, they call right away. The price is reasonable. I know my mom is well cared for. I highly recommend it.

"Amazing care at a great place"
Brighton Gardens has been an amazing place and a great find. We needed more care than what most assisted living places offer, but she didn't need a nursing home yet. Here, she gets exactly what she needs. It's more expensive than regular assisted living, but much cheaper than a nursing home. The care is excellent, and they are definitely worth checking out.

I spoke to the person in charge of helping people at the living center. She answered a lot of my questions. Both Brighten and Sunrise seem like they could be good options. I think my mom and dad would like the outdoor environment of Brighten more. Prices start at around $6100 every month and there's an extra $630 every month added on for help with medication and even more if dad gets special care to help with his memory. I need to check if there's any financial aid because he served in the military. I also need to see if mom has insurance that covers a long term stay in a health facility.

"Active and Friendly Community with Great Amenities"
This place is very lively with friendly people. It’s important for mom to meet others who are as independent as she is. We like the larger one-bedroom apartment with its great closets and bathroom. This is community living, so we all need to get involved. It’s right across from St. Leo’s! There’s a group of women who go to the 11 am Sunday mass and do a lot of baking together. They have a wonderful schedule of daily events, outside speakers, and trips both nearby and a bit farther away. The area is bright, though it can look a bit dated. I haven’t seen other places yet, so I’ll comment on that later. They clean the carpets before each new person moves in. You can decorate however you want, including painting and hanging pictures.
