"“Mom Finds Familiarity at Assisted Living”"
Mom picked this place without checking others, even though we had more visits scheduled. She knows people here who also go to the Elmwood Community Center where she used to volunteer.

"Safe Choice for Loved Ones"
If I'd trust my mom there, you can too. If it fits your budget. We chose this community for my loved one due to its location and team management.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
They have a good number of well-trained staff members who pay attention to our loved ones' needs. However, we're not thrilled with their financial billing.

"COVID Restrictions Impact Care"
When our family member passed away, some of the staff were kind and helpful. However, due to COVID restrictions, we could only visit her in her room or certain areas. We couldn't see any activities or join her during meals. Sometimes the care services were inconsistent.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
This place looks nice and the people there are nice too. Some of the workers were really good, but some weren't so good. They didn't take good care of my family member. They didn't tell us what was happening with them. It was expensive and they didn't give us what they promised. They couldn't help my family member like they needed. If your family member doesn't need a lot of help, it might be okay. But if they do, it might not be the best place for them.

"Mixed Experience at Brookdale Chatfield"
The food is good, but it’s hard to ensure our loved one gets the right meals. The activities are okay, and overall, we’d recommend Brookdale Chatfield.

"Lack of Follow-Up Disappoints in Assisted Living Tour"
This place was not the best. When we visited, it was really confusing. The staff seemed nice and reached out to us many times before we went for a tour. But after we finished the tour, they didn't check in with us anymore.

"Tight Budget and Short Staffing Affect Assisted Living Quality"
The place is run by a company that doesn't like to spend money. This shows in many ways. There are too many mistakes made by the office to count. We noticed that not having enough staff hurts the quality of food service, fixing things, and other stuff. The place is clean; not a lot of people go to many of the activities, and some were only kept because the people living there didn't want them gone. There's a lot to do, but most of it is outside the facility in the Hartford area.

"Great fit for mom!"
My mom is really enjoying her time at Brookdale Chatfield. Even though the building is older, it's well-maintained. There's a nice spot for residents to hang out. Mom loves participating in activities and going on field trips. She enjoys having lunch with her new friends. The dining area is her favorite place; she gets to chat and the food is good. During our tour, both the staff and residents were super friendly. I'd recommend Brookdale Chatfield to anyone without hesitation.

"My loved one is doing great!"
My father-in-law had a tough start, but now he’s doing great. He seems happy. There are more residents now, so he has more people to talk to and join in activities. They keep everyone busy. The place is clean, and the food is really good. We would recommend this place!

"Disappointed Family Frustrated by Subpar Assisted Living Conditions"
My grandma has been there for over 2 years and honestly, things haven't been great. Last year, the Doctors' room roof started leaking, and it took them like half a year to fix it. Even though they're paying for full service, residents had no choice but to get their own food in the buffet line. This year, a lot of people had to switch apartments because a water leak damaged a whole wing. They said it'd be temporary, but it's been 10 months and my grandma's still not back in her original apartment. Plus, no one's gotten a refund or any kind of apology for all this hassle. It's pretty stressful for old folks. My family and I are always nervous about what’ll go wrong next.

"Mixed experience at assisted living: Fun activities, lacking in food and orientation"
This place has lots of stuff to do, and my mom really likes watching movies and hanging out with other people who live here. But the food isn't great - the bread is always hard, and breakfast doesn't taste fresh. I wish the staff had done a better job of showing my mom around and helping her get used to when we eat and do activities.

"Independent Living Spot Needs Nursing Services"
My mom stayed at this independent living spot for almost six years. She wasn't crazy about the meals there. It's pretty decent, but they don't offer nursing services. Lately, it seems there are a growing number of residents who need walkers or have health issues so it's starting to feel more like an assisted living facility. But, they can't hire licensed nursing assistants because of their licensing. I ended up having to find round-the-clock care for my mom, which was getting pretty pricey, so we decided she needed to move somewhere else.

"Good for Independent Seniors Only"
My husband's aunt stayed there. I'd say it looks great, but there's a catch. If you're independent and healthy, it's a good place. But our aunt couldn't read, and her apartment was scorching during the summer. They don't do welfare checks, and everything costs extra. So, it's great for independent seniors, but not if you need help.

"Independent Living Only: Meals and Laundry Machines Provided"
This place is just for independent living, not for assisted living. They only offer breakfast and dinner. They don't wash your clothes for you, but they provide washing machines. The cost is between $2400 - $3900 per month.

"Apartment Feel, Spacious Rooms, Gables Preferred, Pretty Facility"
This assisted living place feels more like living in an apartment compared to the Gables. Linda liked the Gables more because she thought it was prettier. The two-bedroom here is really nice and has plenty of space.
