"Friendly Tour"
We visited this place for my mother-in-law and her needs. The tour went smoothly, and everyone was friendly to us. However, it wasn’t the right fit for her. We found another community that suited her better.

"Costs Add Up in Memory Care Facility"
Nice place, but the costs add up. Monthly bills are unpredictable. Only memory care available, not what we wanted.

"A Caring Community Where Residents Thrive Together"
This is a new community that is modern, safe, and spacious. When I first came for a tour, the staff was friendly and welcoming. It felt like they really wanted to create a family atmosphere. My mom is in the Memory Care section, and she has the entire 2nd floor to explore, so she never feels trapped. She has settled in well, and every staff member, from physical therapists to occupational therapists, has welcomed her. They’ve helped improve her mobility and nutrition. She can eat as much as she wants without long waits. Plus, she loves the musical activities; a guitarist comes every day!

"Five-Star Care and Comfort"
After researching assisted living options for months, my family chose Maplewood at Strawberry Hill as the new home for my aging father. The other places we looked at were good, but none had the same level of excellence as Maplewood. While many assisted living facilities have openings, Strawberry Hill is full with a waiting list for a reason. They truly are the best choice in Fairfield County. From professional and personalized caregiving to top-notch dining, cleanliness, and friendly staff, Maplewood deserves five stars all around. Since moving in, my father has been happier and has improved both mentally and physically. My family and I feel relieved and comforted that we made the best decision for Dad. When comparing Maplewood to other places, make sure to ask about their intermediate level memory care. To my knowledge, no nearby competitor offers the same high quality of cognitive care for general assisted living residents that Maplewood does. This is very important! Many facilities provide secure memory floors for residents with severe dementia or Alzheimer’s, and Maplewood does too. However, they also have intermediate level memory care, which lets your loved one stay among the general assisted living population, making them happier and more engaged for as long as possible before needing to move to a dedicated memory care floor. I wholeheartedly recommend Maplewood at Strawberry Hill in every way. They are the best and offer great value compared to other options.

"Grateful for the care at Maplewood!"
As we start 2016, we are so thankful that our mother is still with us and grateful to you and Maplewood. Every day, my family and I think about how amazing you are. She feels so comfortable and cared for at Maplewood. Being there has given us more time with my mom and has helped us take care of my dad too. One of the few things she truly enjoys is food, and she loves the meals. The staff works hard to make food she can eat and enjoy. It’s so helpful that I can pop in anytime to bring her treats and tea. The nursing and medical staff are the most important part of her care. They are incredible. Knowing them and seeing their dedication gives us comfort. Their loving care is helping us have more time with her, which means everything to us. They pay close attention, are very responsive, and always professional. Each of them has helped keep my mother with us and make sure she is peaceful and comfortable. We feel very lucky to have your nurses looking after her. Thank you for being there and doing what you do!

"Great place for my dad"
My dad is 91 and has vascular dementia. Maplewood at Strawberry Hill is just the right size—big enough to have everything he needs but small enough to feel personal. The staff is super friendly and knows everyone by name. They really get what each resident and their families need.

"Thankful for Maplewood Strawberry Hill’s Care and Support"
This place is amazing. My husband and I had to make a tough choice earlier this year to move my mom from another assisted living place. She was getting worse, and I was scared the move would make it worse. Almost a year later, I couldn’t be more grateful for everyone at Maplewood Strawberry Hill. My mom is now walking with little help, gained 15 pounds with better nutrition, and made lots of friends. Christina, who runs events and activities, really cares about my mom and keeps her active. Nurses Shantel and Jenn are always there to answer any questions. Amy, the director, is always available and tries to help. From the moment I visited with Leslie, I knew this was the best place. Almost a year later, I still feel the same. Thank you, Maplewood, for giving me my mom back.

"Worried About Frequent Staff Changes"
After seeing the latest review, I have to add my voice to the concerns about the constant changes. They're losing valuable employees, particularly those working on the second floor. The person responsible for the dementia division just left this week, and they're not the only recent departure. Based on all the people I've spoken with, the Director seems to be a significant problem. Be sure to really investigate before you make any decisions. Though we have fears, we haven't been directly affected yet.

"Happy with care, little bit worried on a few things"
We have our mom living on the first floor. The staff there takes good care of her day by day, and the facility is very clean. Our mother has been there for several years, and she seems to be doing well. Our main concern is the cost and management. It's expensive, and they keep trying to raise the bill. The staff appears happy, but we've heard complaints about the center director's tone. Just a word of caution, I guess.

"Grateful for Maplewood's care and communication!"
We are really thankful for Maplewood. I don’t know what we would have done without them. They communicate so well about all our services. They truly made this place feel like home. The outdoor patio is beautiful, and they provide a high level of care that doesn't feel like a nursing home.

"This is the best facility we've found!"
I checked out many places, and this is the best one. We are really happy with it. I can’t say much about the activities since my mom hasn’t joined in yet. Overall, we’re very pleased with this facility!

"One of Top Three Choices, but Too Big"
This was one of the three places we were deciding between. All three were very similar, but it came down to personal preference. This community was larger than the one we picked, and we worried it might be too complicated.

"Brand new"
super clean, and full of light. Feels big, but it's cozy. The neighborhood is a bit iffy, but there's a park nearby. Staff are friendly and connected with residents. Lots of activities, and they listen to residents' input. Overall, a clean and welcoming place.

"Great care, clean, and friendly environment!"
They keep the place very clean and friendly. The food is good, but when I visit my dad, it seems a bit sparse. Some other residents mention the same thing, saying there isn't quite enough. The food is also a bit bland. While it might be fine for others, I think my dad needs more variety. I don't blame the staff or the cook; it could just be how the food is managed. They serve him nicely and are always friendly, trying to help everyone. There are lots of activities, though I wish my dad would join in more. The facility is plush, new, colorful, and well designed, with everything on one floor. No doubt about it, the care is definitely there!

"Decor Prioritizes Family Over Residents"
This place looks really nice with fancy furniture and all, but it feels like they care more about impressing families than making things comfy for the folks living here. Like, they've got delicate wine glasses even though most people here can't handle them, and the chairs are super heavy and the couches are too low for older folks. It's like they're trying to make the place look good for visitors instead of making it easy for the residents. My brother visits a lot and says our mom's doing okay, though.

"Solid Facility with Room for More Activities"
My mom's been there a week. Compared to others, it's great. Activities are my least favorite. Not many off-site trips. It's pricey, but everything costs a lot nowadays. Staff works hard, food's tasty. Overall, excellent so far. People are awesome, from caregivers to kitchen staff.

"High Costs, Friendly Staff, Clean Facility, Convenient Location"
This place has really nice staff who are super friendly. The place is kept very clean and tidy. My only problem is it costs a lot. It feels like they could give more for what they charge. But, it's in a good spot for our family, so that's a plus.
