"Assisted Living Facility Review: Clean, Convenient, But Room for Improvement"
The facility is very clean and in a great location, right in the center of town near a pharmacy, supermarket, and shops. The staff is friendly but needs to improve communication with caregivers and management. They show many movies, but not always ones residents are interested in. Despite claiming luxury status, two out of three gas fireplaces don't work. There was an instance when my mother was sick and couldn't go downstairs for dinner; they delivered her meals but charged extra for room service. Considering the monthly fee, such charges feel unnecessary for occasional needs.

"Decent Assisted Living Tour"
I visited The Hearth at Tuxis Pond, and it was okay. I didn’t notice anything bad about the place. However, it’s far from where I live, so it’s not our top choice. The tour was decent.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Mixed Experience During Pandemic"
My mom moved to the Hearth on [date removed], just as they announced no visitors due to Covid-19. It's tough not seeing how she's doing firsthand, and dropping her off without visits is hard. Overall, it's been okay. Mom seems cared for, and most staff are nice. [Name removed] has been exceptional. Communication's a bit iffy. I've emailed and called the director with no reply. The director's trying with activities and hired someone new, which is good. I'm grateful they've kept mom safe during the pandemic. But with no visits allowed, better communication is needed.

"Caring Community with Activities and COVID Caution"
We picked this place because it’s clean, in a good location, and they kept their promises. The rooms aren’t too small; my mom has a bed, TV, chair, and a couple of tables. She actually enjoys the food, and they’re very cautious about COVID. The memory care is pricey. When they could go out, they took residents on trips, played music, and had exercise classes.

"Warm and Welcoming Assisted Living Experience"
I felt right at home at The Hearth. The reception had a friendly staff dog, a cozy fireplace, and oldies music playing. There were quiet corners to read and relax. I’m planning to take the full tour soon because [name removed] and I had such a great chat. I’m giving it 4 stars for now, but I might bump it up to 5 after the tour!

"Highly Recommended Assisted Living Facility!"
The Hearth at Tuxis Pond is a great Assisted Living Facility in a lovely spot in Madison, Connecticut. As a Geriatric Care Manager, I’d happily suggest it to my clients.

"A Welcoming Home with Room for Improvement"
I moved to the Hearth four years ago as an independent resident. Even now, I'm still independent. The friendly, hardworking staff and the variety of activities (I even learned poker!) make a big difference. The nursing and aide staff are always attentive, and maintenance issues get fixed promptly. I always know what changes are coming. The administrative staff is helpful, and downtown is a short walk or a quick 3-minute ride away. Transportation to local places is available, and housekeeping happens weekly. Plus, we get three meals a day and snacks. Overall, there's room for improvement, but I'm happy here because of the active community.
