"Friendly Staff, Average Care, Hidden Costs"

When we first talked, they didn’t tell us about all the extra charges for different services. The place is neat, and the workers really put in effort. The team is super nice—actually, they’re nicer than some of the folks at the front desk. The care they give is just alright. The nurses can’t do a lot of things. There’s no registered nurse around during the whole night. The dining crew is one of the best parts of the place. The guys are awesome, the meals are fine, but they need more people working there.

"Nice Tour, Modern Facility, Too Far for Us"

Our family visited the facility in person. The tour was really nice, and the community is very modern. However, it's too far away for our family.

"Shocking Malpractice at Selleck Woods Assisted Living Facility"

To put it gently, the folks who run Selleck Woods are some of the most dishonest, money-hungry, and unprofessional people I've encountered. We moved my dad into their assisted living community three months back. They said we'd have a full-time care plan for the first few weeks to see whether he could handle living on his own. If not, we were promised a spot in their memory care unit. Weeks later, we knew he needed more help, but they not only brushed off our request for the memory care unit, but also gave no forward plans. Instead, we got empty promises of future assessments and vague responses. As if this wasn't enough, the full-time caregivers from a third party, that were arranged by them, were usually late, routinely dozed off on duty, or were constantly attached to their mobile devices. Selleck Woods couldn’t offer us any help, so we ended up getting an agency on our own. There was also this episode where a nurse, responsible for administering the medications, wanted to leave work early and ignored the correct medicine timings. When my mom asked her about this, an argument broke out. It was only after escalating the issue to the supervisor, that the nurse begrudgingly abided by the medication schedule. Thankfully, my mom was present to prevent any mishap. Recently, Selleck Woods said they couldn't manage my dad after he had an episode, so we took him to Silverhill where he ended up catching pneumonia and was transferred to a hospital. When he was released, we didn’t want to send him back to Silverhill either because of the unprofessional care, he received there. However, when my brother tried to move him back to Selleck Woods, they refused and said that we were "evicted". Worse yet, one of the directors even called the cops on my brother. We still haven’t received the promised 15-day notice for the eviction or our deposit back. But, these actions caused much more damage than just a loss of money. They left my dad with no place to go for his treatment. I’ve kept this summary brief, but it’s important that other people are aware of this. To protect your loved ones, please don’t consider Selleck Woods.
