"Affordable with clear pricing would return for independent living."
The assisted living place was good. Make sure to read the contract for different prices of independent living levels. It was very good. I would definitely go back again.

"Excessive Fee Hikes and Hidden Costs at Assisted Living Facility"
We chose the Residence at Summer Street for my dad's assisted living needs. In just one year, his monthly bill increased by more than half. It feels a lot like a bait-and-switch situation. They assured us that any increases would be manageable but now we're paying thousands more every month compared to what we were paying last year. They even told us that's what other facilities would do, but ironically, it's exactly what they're doing at the Residence at Summer Street. On top of that, there are numerous unexpected charges that we were led to believe were already included in the high cost like getting his laundry done and his medications, even though he already gets his pills pre-packed from the pharmacy. Sadly, we were hoping for a long-term care solution, but they've essentially surpassed our insurance coverage and rapidly diminishing our savings. Now we're forced to look for another option.

"Mixed Feelings About The Residence"
I didn't love The Residence at Summer Street. When we stepped inside, it smelled like a hospital and felt too institutional.

"Empty Facility, Lacks Activities and Proper Staff"
I wouldn't pick this place for my folks. It looked pretty empty when I visited, barely saw anyone. There wasn't even a sales rep, just a maintenance person I think. It's a new place and looks nice, but there's nothing much to do.
