"Great Staff, Excellent Meals, and Plenty of Activities"

We are really happy with the staff and the care our loved one is getting. Everyone has been so nice and they do a great job with her. One of her favorite things at The Village is the meals and dining service. She says it's excellent, and they will even bring the meals to her room if she doesn't want to go to the dining hall. She has made friends and socializes when she wants to. They have lots of different activities and chances for residents to get involved. She loves going outside and sitting on the porch. We would definitely recommend The Village at Kensington Place. We feel very comfortable with our loved one being there.

"Great place with fun activities and good value for money"

The community is great because it was what I needed and close to my home. They have treated my parents well and are very involved in the community. The value for the money is excellent. Overall, it’s a really good place. They offer fun activities like bingo, movie nights, live music, and cultural events. There are also day trips and they celebrate all holidays.

"Friendly staff and great food make this place highly recommended"

The staff here is super friendly, and the food is great. We have an excellent chef who makes meals really enjoyable. I would definitely suggest this place to others from what I've seen.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"

I looked at a few virtual tours, and this place didn't seem as nice as some others. The people in the memory care unit seemed quite advanced in their condition, and my family member, who is more independent, might not have had enough interaction with similar peers.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

I'm not exactly sure if it's because of the pandemic, but some things happened at the place that left me puzzled, and I never really got clear answers about it. My family member stayed there for only a month, and he fell down three times. They told me about it each time. Then he had to go to the emergency room once or twice. The last time he went, he didn't come back. Sadly, he passed away. He had some bruises on his eye, and The Village didn't know why. Every time he fell, they didn't really have any explanations and couldn't tell me why. In that way, I think maybe they could have done a better job. The other thing that I found a little annoying is how long it took them to give back the money they owed us. I had to remind them several times, and they would always say they were working on it. If I hadn't kept asking them, I feel like I would still be waiting for the money. I found that to be upsetting. They seemed like they were trying to keep me updated about my family member's care, and I appreciated that. They sent me pictures of him participating in activities. The staff there seemed to be friendly, nice, and helpful, so I am thankful for that. I guess they did what they could. It's just difficult to understand what was happening with the care due to all the restrictions. And I couldn't watch over my loved one as much as I would have liked to, especially because he was in the memory care area.

"Careless Assisted Living Facility: All Money, No Compassion"

I strongly recommend not sending your dearly loved one to this facility. They lack any understanding for you or your family member who has to live there. All they care about is making money at this place, they do not provide the respect your loved one deserves. I deeply regret having my parent there (who has sadly passed away). Keep a considerable distance from this assisted living facility!! You can surely find much better options elsewhere.

"Fantastic Community with Music Therapy!"

The community was really nice, and the representative was fantastic. My mom enjoyed a music therapy class.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

Sometimes, it takes a few tries to get help. Nurses don't handle emergencies; outside help does. Leaks are common, especially when it rains heavily. Office can be disorganized; bills arrive inconsistently. Doctor only available on Thursdays, by appointment. Fewer staff on weekends; parking is ample. Medication costs are separate from administration fees. Meal delivery is late and often cold; extra charge. Ask for a list of extra charges. Washing machines are old and not very efficient. Food is good, and servers are attentive. Staff seems caring. Response times can be slow; follow-up may be needed. Transportation provided for appointments and errands. Aides change frequently, hired from outside. Hair salon prices are high due to demand. Fruit flies need professional treatment. Not as expected, but not a deal-breaker. Professional opinion rates them as okay. Needs better organization and faster response times.

"Terrible Understaffing and Neglect at Assisted Living Facility"

This place is just awful. They seem to always not have enough workers. They lose clothes and the kitchen is dirty. My mom was there for seven months. During that time, she fell because no one was looking after her properly. The workers didn't let her join any group activities. I feel like she didn't get treated well.

"Great Community with Caring Staff and Activities"

My mom has lived at the Village at Kensington Place for over two years. Her apartment is beautifully decorated with her own furniture and items she loves. She enjoys her independence but knows help is just a button away. We have no complaints—none at all. The facility is beautiful, the food is delicious and well-presented, and there are daily activities that keep residents and families engaged. The staff knew my mom’s name from the start and made her feel welcome. She joined groups that match her interests and skills. If I have questions or concerns, the administrator is almost always on site. Check out their Facebook page for many photos of residents, staff, and family. My mom picked this place herself, and we’re all thankful for the great community atmosphere. Over two years and no complaints—really, zero.

I feel like my mom is in good hands since moving to this community. It’s a wonderful place with a great staff. They have been very attentive and helpful. They’re taking great care of her and meeting all her needs. I’m really pleased with everything they’ve done for us, and I would recommend this community. It’s working out well for my family.

I visited for my family member. Everything was great. Not perfect.

"Great Care and Value for Loved Ones"

We are really happy with this place. The staff are nice and caring. They are quite busy, but maybe they need more staff so residents get more attention. The meals are good, and he likes the variety of healthy food. He gets to join in on the fun activities. We would recommend this community for the care and value of a loved one.

"Friendly Staff, Great Food, and Clean Facilities Highly Recommended"

The staff is friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist. My father-in-law enjoyed the food, and they offer daily activities that they encouraged him to join. The community is clean and well-kept. I would definitely recommend this place.

"Clean, Friendly Facility, But Not Right for Us"

We took a tour of this place, and it was pretty nice. Everything looked tidy and clean. The people working there were friendly and kind. It was a good visit overall, but we had to think about lots of things before deciding where to put my mom. Unfortunately, this wasn't the place we ended up choosing.

"Memory care unit excels, communication needs improvement."

The memory care unit here is great! They help my loved one improve with activities and redirection techniques. I just wish they communicated better about my mom's progress.

"Mixed Feelings About Mom's Assisted Living Facility"

This place is pretty decent. The employees are nice, but they're not great at staying updated with family details. My mom's had to wait for her medicine before. They do have fun stuff to do for those who want to join in. Other families should look at other places too.

"Amazing staff, quick help, and great care for Dad"

We needed help for our father right away, and the staff at Kensington were amazing. They guided us through every step quickly, matching our needs. We were worried about leaving Dad, but it went well. We even saw him smile a few times! We're excited about his future and feel very good about his care and safety. THANK YOU!

"Recommendable Facility with Room for Some Improvement"

This place is nice and they're taking really good care of my mother-in-law. There are small things that concern us, but the staff meets with our family to solve these problems. They're doing a fine job taking care of her, but I would like them to respond a little quicker. The staff here is really loving and willing to help. The food is also quite decent. We know she is safe and well cared for, and I'd recommend this place to others.

"Very nice looking place!"

I visited this community while searching for care for a loved one. The place was clean and well-kept, and the staff I met were friendly and professional. We chose another community, but this was our second choice!

"Warm and Informative Visit Without an Appointment"

We dropped by unexpectedly since we were nearby. We didn’t have an appointment and just wanted to grab some brochures and think about it. To our surprise, the Executive Director sat down with us, answered our questions, and gave a tour for our elderly brother, who needs more care and supervision. It’s going to cost more than his current situation at home, but it’s worth it for the peace of mind for my sister and me, who live 2,000 miles away. There are cheaper options, but our brother knows the area well and was warmly welcomed. We plan to keep considering moving him to Kensington.

"Helpful staff, settling in is taking time, but overall good experience."

My loved one's settling in at The Village at Kensington Place has been a bit tough, but the staff's been really helpful. Even though they're a bit less hands-on now, I still feel they're doing a good job taking care of her.

"Wonderful experience from start to finish!"

They’ve done a great job at The Village at Kensington Place! Our loved one hasn’t been here long, but everything from the tour to now has been really good. The staff are nice and helpful, and the place is clean and well-kept. I have only good things to say about them, and I highly recommend them!

"Friendly and Caring Staff"

Our time at The Village at Kensington Place has been great. They’ve really helped us make it a safe and comfy place for my loved one. The staff are super friendly and take great care of everyone! Since moving in, he’s gotten a lot stronger and can move around more on his own.

"A Bit Too Fancy for Our Needs"

The place is nice, but I think it’s a bit too fancy. There are lots of fancy tablecloths and chandeliers that make it seem really high-end. It’s also pretty expensive. I’m not sure if all the crystal decorations are needed for taking care of my mom. Still, it was nice.

"I liked the facility, good place for mom."

I visited and really liked the facility. It seems like a great place for my mom, but I still need to discuss it more with my family. I was also happy to see that they offer in-house MD care.

"Loved the facility and its caring director!"

I absolutely fell in love with this facility and its location. The director was very compassionate and spent a lot of time with me. They provided me with a lot of helpful information, and I am very grateful for that.
