"Mixed Experience in Assisted Living Facilities"

The staff are really caring and good. If your loved one moves between different areas like from skilled nursing to independent living or vice versa, just know the transition isn't as smooth as it seems online. The communication between groups isn't great. You need to speak up for your loved one. The staff are friendly and skilled, but the sections don't communicate well, which surprised me. The independent living apartments are very nice and well-equipped. My loved one enjoys the food. Overall, it's a nice place.

"Ideal for my mom with dementia peaceful, improving, rocking-chair haven."

The Villa may not suit everyone, but it's just right for my mom. It's a small place, only 14 residents, focused on dementia care. The atmosphere is calm with plenty of relaxed time. They don't rely on TV to keep residents occupied. It feels like a dorm, with a shared kitchen and living room for everyone, split into two halls with seven rooms each. The rooms are cozy, but residents don't spend much time there. Most of the day is spent in the communal living area. Nothing is perfect, but the staff at Watermark/The Villa are always trying to make things better. There are activities, but not all the time. My mom's favorite spot is the big front porch with rocking chairs; she could sit there rocking all day. We believe we've found the best place possible for OUR mother.

"Amazing place to live!"

This is an amazing place to live! After my mom moved here, we were a little worried about her transition into the area. She always has opportunities to do something, and she has been referring friends to here too. I can't thank everybody here enough for taking care of my mother. The environment is just wonderful. It is eminent that the people in the community care and love the residents. The sales people made it a comfortable and easy transition so Mom felt right at home when she moved in. Maintenance has been a delight and is always there when you need something. This facility is highly recommended for those looking for assisted living for a loved one or themselves.

"Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, seniors need encouragement for activities."

Nice grounds, friendly staff, more seniors need activity participation encouragement.

"Need More Effort to Include Seniors in Planned Activities"

The place looks pretty and the workers are really nice. But, they should make an extra effort to get the older folks to join in on the activities they plan. A lot of times, these activities are announced but don't actually happen because not enough people show up. It's important to make sure the seniors know what's happening and encourage them to be a part of it. Also, reminders are helpful because I tend to forget quickly. I've noticed that only one or two people try to join in, but then they feel let down because nobody else comes. So, it would be great if you could find a way to motivate everyone to participate and become friends with each other.

"Comfort and Care Lacking in Assisted Living Facility"

The care facility is poorly managed. They've replaced the carpeting with black vinyl flooring which is frankly unattractive, almost bordering on depressing. Not to mention, the smell from this alleged non-environment-friendly material lingered for weeks. The walls in the hallways are freshly painted and are adorned with artwork that was casually left on the floor for over a month following the painters' departure. Bits of blue painter's tape from the job still cling to the walls. Everyone living here has noticed, and the staff walks by it every day without reacting. It's disheartening; it makes the residents feel uncared for. I've personally removed a lot of the tape, but I stopped because, given the high rent here, I don't believe it's my job to do so. The food here is also severely lacking in quality. The meals often consist of dry, coiled fish and overcooked canned green beans. It's really an unhappy place to live with unreliable services; they often commence work but never see it through to completion. Maybe this review will spur someone to finally remove the painter's tape. Nonetheless, things should never have reached this point.

"Headline: "Pretty Pictures, Empty Promises: Management Ignores Feedback""

We've voiced our concerns to the administration, but it's made no impact. Though they present appealing photographs of their meals, reality tells a different story. The food lacks flavor. It seems the only service provided here is false assurances. Keep in mind that their promotional promises are exactly that - marketing strategies. They often illustrate situations inaccurately or that simply don't occur. Management doesn't genuinely value candid feedback, no matter how they react to these criticisms. We've had discussions, but they gave us their undivided disinterest. They were insincere and skillfully sidestepped every suggestion and fault-finding. They reject outsider suggestions despite seemingly open to it. Be wary of believing the sales team's persuasive talk, and don't trust the management's replies to these reviews.

"Broken Promises"

My dear one feels bored and unhappy here. The response to apartment issues is inconsistent, food is mediocre, and promises were broken. Activities aren’t engaging. We regret choosing this place. Moving out costs $70,000. Loneliness prevails. .

"Think Twice: Frustrating Experience and False Advertisement"

My mom or dad has been really bored since they moved here. The activities are dull and there's nothing exciting. It's not as social as they say it is. The pictures in the brochure make it look way better than it really is. The food isn't tasty and it doesn't look like it's going to improve. A bunch of stuff they told us on the tour turned out to be false. Considering how much it costs to live here, I'd advise you to keep searching.

"Lacking dementia care, nice facility, improvement needed."

My dad's leaving. Not enough dementia care. Nice place, needs improvement.

"Dementia Care Needs Serious Upgrades Here"

We're transferring my dad from this place because they're lacking in proper care. They need to step it up when it comes to taking care of folks with dementia. Their team knows the basics, but they're clueless when it comes to dementia-specific care. The place itself is nice and they serve good food. However, they definitely need to better their dementia care. They boasted a lot initially, but now, I'm not thrilled with this place.

"Friendly Staff and Delicious Meals!"

Since my mom moved into this community, everything has been great. The staff are friendly and always make sure to meet her needs. She loves the dining experience and the delicious meals they serve. Overall, we're very happy and would recommend it to anyone.

"No Assisted Living Options at Watermark"

The Watermark seemed okay to me. The place was kept up nicely, and the staff were really nice. Our main worry was that they don't offer assisted living for my loved one. Other than that, it looks like a good spot!

"Perfect Place for Mom!"

From the start, everyone here was super helpful. We felt very cared for and important. They answered all our questions, sometimes more than once. I believe my mother-in-law will be very happy and well taken care of here. She loves swimming, exercising, and socializing, and she can do all that here. She enjoys good food but doesn’t like to cook, so this is the best place for her. She can keep her independence and still be safe.

"Not the Right Fit!"

This place is really nice. We liked everything about it—the staff were helpful and pleasant. But unfortunately, it wasn't the right fit for Mom.

"Great Place with Friendly Staff and Fun Activities!!"

The Watermark at East Hill has been a great choice for us. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and the other residents are too. We’ve made many new friends here. The community offers a lot of activities, and we enjoy going to the gym three times a week. The meals are good, though the portion sizes can vary. Sometimes they are very large, and sometimes they’re smaller. We’d definitely recommend this place to a friend because we’re happy here.

"Smooth Transition to a New Home"

It’s tough when a loved one has to leave their home after many years, but he made the move so easy. My mom is doing great in her new place and is starting to make new friends.

"Previous reviewer must be mistaken—this place is fantastic!"

Watermark at East Hill is a wonderful place. My mom has lived there for three years now. The place is beautiful, super clean, and the staff is very kind. I've visited every week for three years and even stayed overnight sometimes. I've never seen anything like what the previous review said. Everyone knows my mom's name and what she likes and dislikes. Her apartment and the common areas are all beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous too. Check it out yourself and see!

"Residents Speak Out: Once Ideal Facility Now In Turmoil"

Looks like all your ratings are out of date. I toured this place in October 2015, preparing for my mom's move, and I can tell things have taken a turn for the worse since your old reviews. A buddy of mine told me her aunt lived here in 2011 and things were much better then, but she died two years ago and things have apparently gone south since then! This place is far from clean, from the front door to the elevator and right into the apartments. The walls have patchy paint and holes, and carpets are stained and dirty. I even saw used tissues on the hallway floor. And a mousetrap in the hallway, just like that! It's a sad thought, but it really makes you wonder how well the folks living here are being cared for if the facility is kept in such a state. I got a tour from a sales rep who said they had plans to spruce things up... But I went back on my own later and talked with four elderly residents and they all described the home in a similar way - a mess that's crumbling around them, and nobody seems to care about their requests for improvements. So heartbreaking for these residents.

"Feels Like Home: Exceptional Memory Care"

I spent most of a day here to tour and see how the residents interact with the nurses, events, and different times of the day. I was really impressed. The family-style setup and personalized care make it feel like you’re at your grandma’s house. The nurses, are well-trained and professional, but they feel more like friends. One resident wanted to go outside because it was sunny, even though it was 32°F. Instead of just saying no, the Nurse told her it was very cold, then opened the door and let her go outside for a few minutes, staying nearby to let her back in when she was ready. This made the resident feel respected and independent, rather than rejected and helpless. That one moment made a big difference in her day. In memory care, isn’t that what really matters? I’m hoping we can get Mom moved in!

"Feels like home, loving care, bright and welcoming space."

The place feels like a family home, super clean and bright. The residents are treated with love and care, not like patients. Meals are served family-style, and medications are given in private rooms to avoid the feel of a nursing home. The nurses, called 'nayas,' handle everything from cooking to cleaning, and they’re very loving and patient, even comforting residents with hugs when needed. The space is cozy and welcoming. Though there aren’t many group activities due to various levels of dementia, the nayas provide personal or small group engagement. I think my mom would be happy and safe here.

"Cozy Living: A Smaller Assisted Facility with Limited Activities"

The Watermark was different from the place we chose. Where my mom stays now, they have 4 neighborhoods, and patients can freely move around, with aides checking on them. This one was more like a single building with 11 rooms, each with a bathroom. It felt smaller, and we didn't see many activities during our visit. Maybe there are some, but none were happening when we were there. I don't even remember the cost. It was farther from me than other places, so we didn't explore it further.
