"CCH Assisted Living Facility doesn't provide adequate care"

I wanted to let families know who are thinking about CCH for their family members that in the last year we had some big problems that made things really tough for my sister: Poor Staff - There weren't enough people working and they didn't seem well-trained. When my sister's health started going downhill, this meant that they weren't able to get to her as fast as they should have, and they didn't take good care of her which caused a lot of unnecessary pain. Bad Leadership - It seemed like the place had trouble finding and keeping people in important positions, like the nursing director. Because of this, there was no one leading the charge when it really mattered, especially when it came to working with other professionals from outside. Bad Communication - As my sister's health got worse, really poor communication caused a lot of stress for our family and made my sister suffer more. We also found that the staff didn't respond to our calls or emails. Like other families, we ended up hiring extra people to keep an eye on her health and speak up for her every day. In the end, though, we couldn't fix all of the problems CCH had.

"Comfortable Transition with Excellent Staff and Dining Experience"

Finding a new home for my sister was tough because she didn't want to leave her house. We chose Chevy Chase House because they have different apartment styles that helped her move from a house more easily. Every time I talked to my salesperson, they were very professional and made sure to meet our needs. The staff were incredibly helpful in helping us decide and were always there to answer our questions and let us visit as many times as we needed to make a good decision. The chef, who was trained by the Culinary Institute of America, makes sure every meal is not just good but also healthy. Residents can choose what they want to eat, and the dining room is fancy with white tablecloths and a friendly staff. It seems like every staff member, no matter what job they have, learns everyone's names, and a lot of them know who I am too. The words that describe the place best are helpful and kind.

"Our Experience at the Assisted Living Facility"

Our time at the assisted living facility has been tough. The staff isn't very nice to residents or private aides. The salesperson promised great care for our loved one, but that hasn't been the case. There's only one nurse for every three floors, and another nurse for seven floors. Communication is a problem. The staff doesn't talk to the doctor or our family about our loved one's health concerns. Sometimes they deliver medication late, and they don't always respond to our calls. They've even neglected to help change our loved one overnight. Despite expressing our concerns, the community hasn't taken action. Only the daytime aide helps with changes, and there's no speech therapist available. We've had to hire outside transportation for appointments because the community's transportation is too busy. They switched our loved one's medications without telling us, and we were willing to pay for the specific medication prescribed by the doctor. But they never communicated this change or their inability to get the right medication. The community has lost two Directors of Nursing and several CNAs. There's no formal communication plan with families, and they often ignore our questions and concerns. Our requests remain unfulfilled, and there's no care plan in place. In summary, I wouldn't recommend this community for anyone's loved ones. (#search_web(query="assisted living facilities 1.5

"Great location, price, and caring staff!"

This place is great if you want to be close to DC, with a good price and decent-sized rooms. My loved one really enjoys the staff, and our family feels the same way.

"Renovated Assisted Living, Mixed Reviews on Meals"

The place got a makeover, so it felt nice. Our family liked the food, but our loved one sometimes didn't.

"Mixed Feelings About Urban Assisted Living"

The community was pleasant, but not ideal for my loved one due to its urban location and busy neighborhood. The tour guide was excellent.

"Clean, friendly, concerns about costs; enjoys cultural activities and staff."

First, [name] is great; enjoyed meeting her. The building is clean, nicely renovated, and lacks a depressing atmosphere. Concerned about costs with many small charges. Like cultural activities, especially the short story readings.

"Comfortable Living with Great Amenities but High Cost"

My relative is slowly getting used to living with new people and all the amenities at Chevy Chase House. Her apartment is big and cozy, and she likes most of the meals. Sometimes, a few food items could be better. There are lots of activities, and people enjoy them. Even though it costs a lot to live at Chevy Chase House, she would definitely recommend it.

"Abysmal Care and Management at Chevy Chase House"

Having my mother in Chevy Chase House was a dreadful ordeal. We were caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. We had to decide whether we should move my mom, who had advanced dementia, to a better managed place or let her stay at Chevy Chase House as her condition and health took a turn for the worse. Thanks to 24-hour private nurses, we somehow managed despite the lousy care and horrid management at Chevy Chase House. The current owners and manager (who are not the ones from when she first moved in) have made this place an absolute nightmare. I would never recommend this place to anyone or let any of my loved ones endure living there again.

"Renovated Beauty Emerges Amid Dust and Debris"

The place is currently undergoing a $17 million renovation. If you look beyond the dust and debris, it's quite beautiful.
