"Caring staff, but need more consistency"
My family loves the staff and how they cared for my mother. The compassion in your staff is what I really loved about the place. Make it an environment that staff wants to stay in. There were a few who have been here since my mom first came to Angels. However, some staff have left. Consistency and a familiar face mean a lot to the clients.

"Safety and Food Concerns at Palm Terrace Assisted Care"
The food at Palm Terrace assisted care isn't tasty, except for the peanut butter. They leave the front door unlocked after 9 pm, which is unsafe. This makes the elderly residents at risk of intruders.

"Understaffed Facility Lacks Care or Prompt Maintenance"
This place has a real shortage of workers, and even though the ones here really want to help they're run ragged and to the point of being unhappy because they’re doing the work of more people than they are. The folks in charge aren't any help and don't seem bothered about anything. Whenever something goes wrong or breaks, it can take ages before anyone comes to fix it. Tenants have to deal with busted bathrooms or fungus growing in their living spaces for months.

"Phones down, communication barriers, stressed caregivers, declining food, good upkeep."
The phones don't work, hard to talk to anyone important. Caregivers stressed, food quality declining, facility looks good.

"Quality Decreases After Move-In at Angels in New Tampa"
My mom or dad stays at the Angels at New Tampa. Everything seemed okay at first. They used to serve two different dishes for dinner, now they don't. Hot dogs show up a lot on the menu. They change things without telling their employees or residents. They don't always give out medicine at the right time. It's like they don't think about how changing workers responsibilities can affect the residents. Laundry service and task distribution went from really good to not that great.

"Inadequate Care and Negligence at Assisted Living Facility"
My time spent at this particular assisted living facility has been sadly disappointing. They are drastically understaffed and lack efficient organization. The low-level caregivers, or Resident Aides as they're called, seem to lack genuine empathy towards those they are tasked to care for. While the atmosphere may seem welcoming, it doesn't make up for the subpar care that residents receive once they're committed to the facility. Trying to communicate with management also proved difficult. Whenever I requested to speak, I was always told she was currently busy in a meeting but would call me back later. It's a stark contrast from the warm reception and prompt responses received during the initial stages of admittance. It felt as though it was all just an act to convince families to enroll their loved ones. I've seen my parent left unaided for over an hour even after pressing the emergency alert button for assistance while the aides chatted on their phones outside in the hallway. Clear-cut cases of negligence, such as leaving medication carts in open view with no staff around, were quite common. The initial optimism quickly fades within weeks or months. Instances of specialized care like regular showers and meal times are often overlooked. The aides even double-diaper their charges, supposedly to minimize the frequency of changes. It's also concerning that residents are pressured into taking more medication than necessary. The sad part is after visiting, our family acknowledged the reality of the place. So, unless you have the freedom to routinely visit and continuously advocate for the proper care, I would recommend looking for a better facility. The whole operation feels overly commercialized, where residents are treated as mere numbers rather than individuals.

"Negligent Facility Leaves Patient Sick and Without Essential Medication"
My dad stayed at the Angels Senior Living in New Tampa for about a year and a half, and I've gotta say, I'm pretty mad about the whole thing. The care he got was nothing like what I was told or what I paid for. His room and bathroom were always dirty. They wouldn't change his sheets or wash his bedding unless I really pushed them. When we finally moved him to a different place, my family who helped out mentioned that his room smelled horrible, like pee and other gross stuff. It seemed like his room got a clean maybe only when he first moved in when I did it. Trying to get the house doctor to see him was a huge hassle. And trying to get in touch with people in charge? Forget about it. They were "always in meetings." Once I finally got him moved to a different place and went back to give in his old room key, I double-checked to see if there was anything else I needed to do - paperwork, his medicine, stuff like that. The front desk folks told me everything was taken care of. Long story short, that was a lie. They didn't do any exit paperwork and never gave us his meds, so we had to take him out of the new place and bring him to a hospital because he missed two days' worth of medicine. That made him really sick. When I went back to the Angels' place to get his meds, they acted like I was a bother and it really ticked me off. Plus, one of the meds he takes is a narcotic and the laws say we're supposed to keep precise records of that stuff. Those records were a no-show at the Angels place.

"Broken Promises and Poor Management Deflate Expectations"
This place is really neat and tidy. The working staff are committed and caring. However, a major issue is there's only ever one employee present and they don't stick around for long. My Aunt's been there since January of 2018 and we're already searching for a better option. The management isn't personable or engaging with its occupants. There are many services promised, but these services keep changing or disappearing. The day we moved in (after being notified a week prior), the floor in the apartment still wasn't finished. The place wasn't clean, the air conditioner wasn’t functioning properly, and there were issues around the bathroom sink still needing repairs. We had to go hunting for the pendant, key, and toilet paper. Numerous promises were made, but none were kept. It's terrible.

"Comfortable Tour, Newer Facility, Concerns with Multi-Level Living"
My mom and I had a nice tour of this place. Everything looked very nice. The staff was kind and gave us good information. This facility is newer than others. Our problem was that it has multiple floors, and my mom wasn't comfortable with that. She wanted a place all on one level. This place wasn't right for us.

"Very Nice Community, but Not the Right Fit for Us"
My mom and I took a pleasant tour of this community. Everything looked really nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. This place is newer than others we've seen. Our problem was that it's a multi-level community, and my mom didn't feel comfortable with that. She wanted a single-level place. Unfortunately, this wasn't the right fit for us.
