"Anthem Lakes: A Better Choice for Loved Ones"
Our family visited Anthem Lakes in person, and the tour was positive. All the communities we saw had similar amenities. Anthem Lakes is newer and slightly better than our chosen community. .

"Nice facility with friendly staff but needs better orientation"
This place is really nice and clean, and the staff is very friendly. At first, it was a bit tough because we didn't know how things worked. Would they take her to meals? How do her meds get refilled? Who does she ask for help if she needs it? Everything got figured out, but I felt like we needed an orientation.

"Convenient location, but lacks service quality."
The facility itself is nice, and many of the residents are very kind. Some of the staff aren't very kind, but that happens everywhere. The CNAs need more training. They tell the residents that they ring the bell too much, which is frustrating. Mom often has to wait 20 to 30 minutes after hitting the call button for help. For the price we're paying, I feel the services should be better. Communication with the family isn't great. They're dealing with staff shortages. When a resident falls, the family isn't always contacted. The food is okay, the quality is pretty good, but there's not much variety. They do housekeeping weekly, but it's not very thorough. Common areas are very clean, but the rooms could be cleaner. The only thing they actually provide is meals. Everything else, like personal care necessities and basic things, is up to the family. For convenience and proximity only, I would recommend them.

"Meet Before Deciding"
My advice for others is to meet the person first. Unfortunately, my dad didn't get what he needed here. They hadn't met him beforehand, so they didn't know if it was right for him. They said it would be a good fit, but it wasn't. The place was nice, but not for us.

"Top Pick for Pretty Assisted Living near Nature Reserve"
I really liked the lady who showed us around. The place looks really nice, and it's next to a nature reserve with a pond. They have a bird sanctuary too. This is one of our favorite choices!

"Beautiful, newer community with spacious rooms and well-kept grounds"
Anthem Lakes is a lovely place with spacious rooms. The grounds are well-kept, and the community is fairly new, being around for about 5 years. The fees were a bit higher than we anticipated.

"No Nurses and Stolen Meds; False Charges at Living Facility"
There's no registered nurses working here and somebody is stealing medications, especially those for diabetes. Plus, they're making residents pay for services they never even got.

"Anthem Lakes Review: Poor Care and Facilities, Avoid Altogether"
Extremely upset with this assisted living home. My mom lived here for 2 years. When fewer people were there, things were good. But as it got crowded and many staff members left, the quality of care took a serious hit. It started to stink because they would leave residents in dirty clothes and wash laundry insufficiently which left it stinky and grimy. The food was really bad, similar to what you'd get at a truck stop. Breakfast was okay, but lunch and dinner were loaded with dry pasta, meat, potatoes and bread, with a minuscule amount of soft and overcooked veggies. The only fruit available was canned peaches, pears, or mixed fruit. The elderly residents wouldn't choose this menu if they had a chance. The facility also had lots of outdated things. The bathrooms were too tiny for wheelchairs. There was no shield from the weather when moving someone from memory care and no automatic doors available for wheelchair convenience. The dining area couldn't handle all the residents so some ended up eating all alone in regular areas. After lunch, staff would send residents to their rooms for a 'nap', even if they didn't usually nap, probably to keep common areas less crowded. The negatives just pile up here. When you bring up any issues, the management gets defensive and threatens to kick you out. So, do a favor to yourselves and your elderly family members and stay away from Anthem Lakes.

" "Anthem Lakes: Poor Care, Neglect, and Threats of Litigation""
Anthem Lakes Treatment Appalling: Neglect and Abuse over a Two-Year Stay" Unfortunately, Anthem Lakes turned out to be a disappointing experience. The caregivers who took care of my 90-year-old mom failed on many fronts. After five months of stay, my mom, who's at risk of falling, was left to walk around alone at 4 am. She fell and broke her thigh bone while the caregivers were supposedly sleeping. This required major surgery, and she was left unable to walk again. Three months later, my mom was terribly bruised all over her arms. It turned out that one of the male night shift workers was rough with her as she was "uncooperative". However, he returned to work even after a brief suspension. My mom was left in soiled clothes often, despite me paying over $5,000 a month for her care. The final straw was when mom's teeth began to fall out because she wasn't being helped to brush them. Even after notifying management, they took no responsibility. I tried moving her out, but they gave me 45 days notice for an eviction. They also cited false claims that made it impossible for her to be taken in by a new facility. Thankfully, I was able to place her in another facility, but the entire experience was traumatic. It was shocking how an assisted living facility that claims to have a passion for the elderly could treat my mother thus. After moving her out, I shared our experience online, but the owner threatened me with a lawsuit. But I will not be bullied into silence, our story needs to be heard.

"Anthem Lakes: Unqualified Caregivers and Confrontational Management"
If you're considering sending a senior you care about to Anthem Lakes, you might want to rethink it. They claim to provide 'care' but their staff don't seem to have certifications as nursing assistants. Some seem more interested in getting paid than looking after the residents. I've seen these 'caregivers' treating seniors really badly and using disrespectful ways to address them instead of their names. The management is argumentative and doesn't want to take responsibility for problems, or take steps to fix them. The person who's supposed to be in charge of 'memory care' is in her early 20s with zero background in nursing; she doesn't even seem to like elderly people that much. Before my family member passed away, I was too scared to say anything about all this because I didn't want them to take it out on them.
