"Terrible Assisted Living Facility Provides Poor Care and Ignores Complaints"

This assisted living facility was a total disaster. The facility's staff wasn't looking after my friend the way they should have been. They weren't providing her with the right food, and her TV wouldn't work for days. It was supposed to have two staff members on duty, but that was a lie. My friend spent days staring at a blank TV screen, and nobody came to fix it. When I called them for help during the weekend, the person who answered was downright rude. I overheard her yelling at my friend because she was mad that she'd called me about the unfixed TV. I took my complaint to the administrator, but she just defended her employee, claiming she had worked for years without any issues. However, a nurse revealed to me later that there had been multiple complaints about this worker, but the administrator routinely brushed them under the rug. I spotted some negative reviews about the facility later on, but it was too late by then as we had already moved in. Many residents looked neglected and aimlessly wandered about. It was a real pain finding a new place after my friend was discharged from rehab.

"Highly Recommend This Residence!"

My husband stayed at Apollo Retirement Residence for a long time, and I’m so grateful for the professional care and good living conditions he experienced there. The staff was always helpful and quick to respond to his needs. The rooms and the entire residence were extremely clean, and there were lots of activities for residents. I definitely recommend this place.

"Shameful Treatment at Apollo Gardens: A Heartrending Tale"

I would've penned this critique much sooner if I had known earlier, and regretfully, I am obliged to give an almost non-existent rating. Keep your loved ones far from this establishment. It is an absolute debacle, and the treatment my uncle and godfather received here was nightmarish. Instead of allowing my 88 year old uncle, grappling with the challenges of dementia, to join me in California – an invitation I'd extended repeatedly over seven years – his younger 68 year old wife offloaded him at this terrible institution, enabling her to live and work in Poland - something she'd been doing for years. She would only grace him with her presence every half a year, a minimum dictated by the law, and dedicate a mere month with him before returning to her job overseas, thus leaving my uncle isolated and deserted. Upon my discovery of his awful circumstances, I made countless efforts to reach him over the phone, but was met with consistent disrespect and hang-ups. After an unbearable six weeks, an ambulance rushed him to a nearby hospital due to severe dehydration - a week of intensive treatment followed. His stay there made me ponder the quality of care he received at Apollo Gardens, run by an outrageously inhumane woman. Immediately after learning that he was hospitalized a second time, I flew out to Florida to visit him. Although I was denied a visitation by the staff at Apollo Gardens upon my arrival, I involved the police and finally was allowed to see my unkempt and visibly distressed uncle. On a subsequent day, I had the misfortune of witnessing patients mindlessly lounging outside on patio furniture, with the heavy odor of urine permeating the air. One elderly and frail lady even mentioned having to clean in order to extend her stay there. My requests to provide my uncle with playing cards and other small tokens were shot down by the relentless owner. When I visited his room, she subjected him to fear-inducing comments, forcing me to reluctantly exit. After seeking legal advice and heartrendingly realizing my inability to transfer him to my home state, I had to make the lone journey back to California. My uncle passed away not long after his 90th birthday, while still under the care of this horrifying establishment. His wife had not even returned from Poland to be with him during his last moments. Thanks to hospice nurses, I was able to speak to him before his tragic transition to the other side. My hope is that this review can spare others from this ordeal.

"Avoid Apollo Gardens: Horrifying Treatment & Sub-par Living Conditions"

I wish I'd had the chance to critique this horrendous place sooner and I'd literally give it ZERO stars if it were possible! PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE- IT'S NOTHING MORE THAN A WRECK, AND HOW MY UNCLE/GODFATHER WAS TREATED HERE IS TERRIFYING! Instead of letting my 88-year-old Uncle, who was struggling with dementia, move in with me in California which I had been pleading for about 7 years, his younger wife (age 68) (not my real aunt) nonchalantly dropped him off in this nightmarish place so she could return to Poland for work, a routine she'd been doing for years. She'd visit every six months as legally required, stay for a month and then fly back to Poland, abandoning my Uncle in this horrible place. When I discovered this, my calls to my Uncle were repeatedly answered rudely and abruptly ended. I had to involve the police to ensure my Uncle's safety. After spending around six weeks there, my Uncle was rushed to the hospital suffering from EXTREME DEHYDRATION, leading to a week's hospitalization. The question raised is - what type of care was he receiving at Apollo Gardens? During his second hospitalization, I immediately made plans to visit him in Florida. Upon arrival, I visited Apollo Gardens to see my Uncle, only to be denied access by the staff. The incident had me taking police help because the highly unprofessional, insensitive owner hindered my visit. My Uncle, when brought out by the cops, was in a disgusting state - unshaven and untidy! I returned the next day to find residents aimlessly sitting outdoors, amidst the horrible smell of urine from the patio furniture. I was left pondering the hygiene conditions of the inmates. My efforts to see my Uncle's room or leave him with some small comforts were thwarted by the inconsiderate owner. If anyone's considering Apollo Gardens for their dear ones, I'd strongly advise against it. For selfish reasons, my Uncle's wife didn't grant him permission to live with me in California. I was heartbroken when I had to leave after two months, not being able to do anything about his situation. My Uncle passed away a few months after his 90th birthday. Through the compassionate Hospice Nurses, I had the fortune to be the last person speaking to him, while his wife never returned from Poland. I hope this review serves as a warning.

"Love this place—clean and well-staffed!"

I really love this place! I'm just waiting to hear back from the owner since she wasn’t there when I visited. It’s super clean, and there are plenty of staff members around.
