"Chapman Manor provides good care, but unclear on activities."
Chapman Manor is nice, and they take good care of Dad. Not sure about the activities. Everyone is great, though! No complaints.

"Poor Management and Staffing at Chapman Manor"
Definitely review updated comments on Chapman Manor. The new owners and managers are awful. Almost all of their employees, who were wonderful when it was American House, have either quit or were fired. Frequently, there aren't enough workers to assist the residents, and the managers constantly make excuses. We don't suggest placing your loved one here. There's a lot more that could be pointed out.

"Shattered Hip: Grandpa Falls at New, Negligent Assisted Living Facility"
Our grandpa, who's an 80-year-old veteran, was living at American House. Then, the Grace Manor at Morton Lake group bought it and took control. Only three days later, on Memorial Day, our grandpa fell in their lobby and broke his hip. Now, he can't leave his bed. He was only with these new people for three days! That's how long it took for things to go wrong under this new management that seems to be missing. If you're thinking about putting a family member here, you should know what you're getting into. This used to be a great place for residents, but now it seems like no one's watching, they don't have enough staff, and they don't care. We asked for the video of grandpa's fall so the VA could see how hard he fell, but the Director said if the VA wants the video, they'll have to get a warrant. What's this place trying to keep hidden?

"Poor Communication and Terrible Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
I would strongly advise against having a look at this place or putting your family members here. My family was here, and it was a terrible start for them. One of them didn't even last a full week. The person who leads this place rarely responds to my attempts to reach out to them. In fact, I'm still waiting to hear back from them about some questions I asked. It's been over three business days, and I still haven't heard anything, which I find totally unacceptable. For their well-being, I had to get my family out of this place.

"Communication Issues Impact Overall Experience at American House Assisted Living"
Overall, we have been happy with the care we receive at American House. The only problem we've had is that the staff and the people in charge don't always tell us about falls and what they plan to do to help us get better.

"Friendly, cost-effective, room average, activities need updating, improving facility."
Here's the rewritten review and the summary: It's a small, friendly community where residents can easily connect. We chose based on cost. Rooms are average-sized. Activities need updating, facility improving.

"Friendly Staff, Activities for All"
Ever since our loved one moved in, the staff has been super friendly and great with the residents. Based on our experience at American House Lutz, we’d definitely recommend it to other families, especially for women. While it’s not a negative comment, they could offer more activities for men that they might be interested in.

"Welcoming Assisted Living with Varied Activities"
I believe this is a wonderful spot for my family member. It took a little while for them to get used to the community. The staff is improving communication with families. Residents receive three meals daily, with options to pick from. Plus, there's a monthly activity calendar.

"Mixed Bag Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
Some of the workers are nice, others not so much. The care for my family member was alright. The place looks good.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living"
The memory care unit is upstairs, so residents couldn't mingle with others. We believe it's important for them to talk to people to help slow down the disease. Unfortunately, there's only a small balcony, and nowhere for residents to go outside and walk around. Overall, we didn't feel like there was much interaction, and the environment didn't provide the mental stimulation we wanted for our loved one. On the positive side, the facility didn't feel institutional—the private rooms felt more like apartments.

"Clean and Kind Staff, Location and Cleanliness Less Ideal"
Our visit to American House Lutz was good. The staff seemed friendly. The cleanliness wasn't as good as the place we chose, and the location wasn't as convenient for our family.
