"Terrible Experience, Disinterested Staff at Meridian at Lantana"
I must say, I wouldn't recommend Meridian at Lantana to anyone. My dad's time there was truly awful. The nursing staff and helpers just didn't seem to care — it felt like they were more concerned about money than people. I ended up moving my dad to another location.

"Horrible Experience at Meridian Assisted Living Exposed"
My dealings with Meridian have been totally terrible. They can't keep the same administrative staff; there have been three different head honchos and two different office managers in the fewer than a year since my dad moved in. The current office manager doesn't know what she's doing. She threatened to kick my dad out for not paying rent, even though I have proof of all the money I've given them which they definitely took. Even though I've shown this to them, they have ignored my complaints. When they checked my dad, they said he needed help with washing and taking his pills. But no one ever comes to assist him with bathing. I talked to the head nurse and the boss about it, but nothing changed. The person in charge of medication has given him the wrong meds twice. I've reported all of this to ACHA about Meridian. Let others know about these problems so they don't make the mistake of sending a loved one there. It's a choice I really regret.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The helpers are really nice, especially at the front desk. Our family member likes her apartment. We checked out this place before COVID, and she moved in after. But now, new management has made things messy. Communication isn't great, and everything feels disorganized. The meals have variety, but our loved one isn't a big fan of the taste.

"Inspect Contract Details for Assisted Living at The Atria"
The Atria has several great initiatives for folks who can live independently and those requiring some assistance. Recently, they asked my mom to leave as she couldn't get herself out of bed. I discovered later that there was only one certified nursing assistant (CNA) per floor. I had paid extra for my mom to be checked three times a night and have her diaper changed if needed. It came to my attention that they merely checked up on her and didn't change her if necessary. I have two expert caregivers who look after my mom from 10 a.m to 10 p.m, Monday to Friday. They do most of the chores including laundry, housekeeping, showers, and all of mom’s personal care. I'm rating The Atria only one star because I found out that there was just one staff member per floor who couldn't properly care for my mom. Two months back, they reduced the rent and now they're asking her to leave. My mom is 96, possibly doesn't have many years left; and any of you with elderly parents know they don't take moving lightly. Luckily, I’ve arranged for her to shift into a private room in a smaller facility. To make it feel like home, I'm going to be painting the walls the same color as The Atria and use all the same furniture from her current bedroom there. I have been wrangling with The Atria over their patient care for about five years now. Once, I had to install a video system to monitor when the CNA checked up on my mom and changed her if required. In conclusion: The Atria is a tidy facility for independent living. However, I cannot vouch for their assisted living care. It seems grossly understaffed and managed poorly from 11 p.m to 7 a.m, with a high staff turnover and lack of training. The manager, whose name I've withheld, is sociable and terrific at resolving problems when confronted directly. The issue, however, is the frequency of problems arising, such as needing to replace carpets and repair air conditioners. We are moving out in about a week and wish The Atria luck. I hope they improve their assisted living services. If your family member is healthy and independent, The Atria is a good option. Be sure to read the fine print, ask many questions, take notes and be sensible about your loved one's abilities. If they can't care for themselves, what services does the facility offer for assisted living? Lastly, figure out when the facility might ask your loved one to leave because they can't cater to their needs. Do your research; many facilities exist, and you should find one that fits your needs. Ensure that you keep tabs on your loved one’s care and that the facility is holding up their end of the deal. Good luck to all caregivers out there.

"Cramped Spaces and Strong Disinfectant Smell Unsettling"
The bathrooms are really tiny with barely any counter space next to the sink. The rooms are so cramped, that when there's furniture inside, it's nearly impossible to move around in a wheelchair. There's also a constant smell of disinfectant in the hallways.

This place is clean, bright, and cheery. The staff are nice, and there's a current economical cost promotion. They're trying to offer a "dog service" so my mom can keep her dog. I know people who live there and are very happy with Atria. I'll suggest some ideas to see if something can be worked out. This location is convenient for my family too.

"Mixed Levels of Care in Comfortable Assisted Living Community"
My dad is adjusting well here, but settling in always takes time. His living space is really comfy. This place offers different living options, from being on your own to having help with memory care. Dad's gone to some activities, but it's tough for him to make friends with other folks here, maybe because everyone needs different levels of help. The staff and residents are all nice. The food's alright, pretty much what you'd expect at any place for seniors.

"Perfect place for care and comfort!"
I really love it here! My room is big, and housekeeping cleans it, does my laundry, makes my bed, and cleans my bathroom. They have a mini bus to take you to Wal-Mart, the Dollar Store, doctor appointments, and the bank. Everything is kept so clean, and the grounds look great. The maintenance staff is very helpful and usually comes within an hour. The meals are wonderful—not bland, not too spicy, and fish is served often. They can bring meals to my room if needed, and it arrives within an hour. They have a doctor and nurse who check on you if you’re not feeling well. Everyone is a pleasure to be around. I finally feel like someone is here to take care of me. I am happy, and my children are happy we found this place.

"Fantastic Staff & Great Care"
My mother moved into Atria after considering other places and feeling unsure. After about three weeks, she is still really happy with her decision. The staff is fantastic. I feel very good knowing she’s well taken care of, can have meals brought to her room if she doesn’t want to go to the dining hall, and can see a doctor regularly without needing to drive. I finally feel at ease.

"Housekeeping Needs Improvement"
My mom has lived at the Atria for about three years now. She enjoys it and is quite happy there. The staff is very friendly and caring. The place feels like home and has lots of activities for the residents. However, I have a big concern about housekeeping. I think they don’t clean the residents' apartments well enough. When I visit my mom, I end up spending most of my time cleaning her apartment myself. The bathtub has mold, the kitchen sink has scum, the carpets need vacuuming, and the furniture is dusty. I shouldn’t have to clean when I visit. My mom says the staff doesn’t have enough time for cleaning, which seems like a problem to me. So, if you choose to place your loved one here, be prepared to do some cleaning yourself.

"Worse Than a Low-End Motel: Terrible Assisted Living Facility"
This place feels like a low-end motel, not a top-notch assisted living facility. They ask for way too much money for the poor environment they offer. While we were touring, we kept hearing complaints from the current residents. The carpets were filthy, there was an unappealing smell of urine, and the staff gave us sparse information. If your parent has an aid, they're not allowed in the dining room. No one can use their cell phone during meal times and there are many other rules that make the place feel more like a prison instead of a comforting home for your mom or dad. It's the worst place I've ever seen!

"Great Value with Fantastic Staff and Dining"
Even though my mom has only been here for two weeks, we are thrilled with our choice. The staff is fantastic nurses, waitstaff, and maintenance people are all friendly and genuine. I've worked in the hospitality industry for over 35 years, and this team is as well-trained and often better than what you'd find at a Ritz-Carlton. They always seem to know what’s needed, are patient with the residents, and are quick and caring. You might pay more or less at other places, but this one gives you great value for the money. The food is tasty, and the setup is similar to a cruise ship with open seating and dining available all day.

"Bumpy Start at Atria, But Mom's Happy Now"
Overall, Atria Meridian does a pretty good job. The people who show you around know their stuff and there's a lot to do to keep everyone busy and happy. The building is nice and clean too. But, there were some hiccups. During the sales pitch, they didn't give me enough details about the different rooms and how much they cost. After seeing more options since my family member moved in, I realized there were other rooms that may have been a better fit. Also, moving in wasn’t easy. There were some things in the room that weren't fixed until very last minute. This only happened because I kept reminding them to do it. But looking at the big picture, my mom is happy and doing much better here. So, they're obviously doing something right.

"Issues with Atria Meridian Place - Great Disappointment"
My dad used to stay there, but I had to shift him elsewhere. He was placed in the independent section when he needed assisted living. They convinced me to pay extra for additional TV channels because my dad is a TV enthusiast, but that was false. I eventually decided to remove him from Atria Meridian Place, but they demanded a month's notice in writing or an additional payment. In the end, I had to pay extra rent for no reason and I'm still trying to sort that situation out.

"Great care with a minor issue at the start"
They did a good job. Recently, they suggested we get some extra help, and that turned out to be a great idea. The only letdown was when we first arrived; I asked for some adjustments to the sink. The maintenance guy said he would handle it, but nothing was done. Other than that, everyone we met from the start was really friendly. Danielle, Erica, and their team did a fantastic job.

"It Felt Like Home, Not a Nursing Home"
I thought the people were friendly. The residents seemed happy and friendly too. The staff genuinely cared, not just because I was there. The lady who gave me the tour knew everything and answered all my questions. The rooms were nice, and the dining facility was excellent. There were outdoor spaces too. It felt homely in a good way—not like a nursing home. Compared to other places I saw for my mom, this one stands out.

They are amazing. They have lots of activities, but even though they try hard, my aunt doesn't join in. Everyone there makes you feel like family. That was one of the things I really liked about Atria Meridian and why I thought it would be the right place for my aunt, because she is alone. I can't visit her often. Just knowing that she is being cared for like family makes me feel comfortable. They call me with any updates, and I know I can call them anytime I want too. It's one of the best places I've toured. I am so happy that God led me there for my aunt's home. It's a beautiful, loving, and caring place.
