"Friendly Staff and Great Food!"
I really like this place. The staff is super friendly to the people who live here. They talk to me and let me know what’s going on. The cleaning and laundry are great. When we moved in, they helped us get furniture and a TV for my dad’s room. He loves the food! They even had special meals for Thanksgiving and Christmas that families could come to.

"Friendly Staff and Residents, Some Renovations; Preferred Single-Floor, Furnished Rooms"
Our family visited Balmoral Assisted Living during renovations. The staff and residents we met were very nice. We rated them 4 stars. However, we preferred another place because it's all on one floor and had a furnished room, which our loved one preferred.

"Decent Tour, Not the Best Fit Post-Hurricane"
Our family visited Balmoral Assisted Living to see if it was a good fit for someone we care about. The tour was pretty good, but when we looked at another place that was newer, we realized Balmoral wasn’t the best choice for us. They were also fixing some things because of the big storm that came through recently.

"Pleasant staff, community with unexpected rule changes, still recommend"
We chose this community for its one-floor layout and inside garden. Staff are pleasant and work well with residents. There were unexpected changes in rules about doctor distances and smoking regulations. Despite that, I like the staff and community and would recommend it.

"Extremely dissatisfied with mom's stay at assisted living facility"
I'm really not satisfied with my mom being there, so we moved her out. She would often miss meals and the showers were extremely harsh. It took them three whole months to take the payment out. We're still waiting on our refund to this day. My mom even had to be taken to the hospital for a urinary tract infection. Things had gotten way too out of hand. It's like a ghost town in there, no one ever answered the phone, and there was hardly ever anyone at the front desk. I wouldn't recommend them at all.

"Looks Great Outside, Inside Needs More Space"
The outside of this place looks amazing, but the inside? It’s just one small room. If you stand in the middle, you can nearly reach both walls without even trying. I was hoping for a larger space to live in. The inside really doesn’t match the outside—it should get a makeover to match the pretty exterior.

"New Owners Ruin Assisted Living Facility, Ignoring Emergency Calls"
My mom lives at this place and it's just not as good as it used to be. Ever since the new folks bought it last fall, it's gone straight downhill. Nobody talks to each other, there aren't enough workers, and even the emergency buttons don't work right. This is the second time mom had to dial 911 for help because no one from Balmoral would help her! Don't think about putting your family here!

"Consider Other Living Options for Family"
I suggest looking for a different place for your family member. The way the staff acted towards our family didn’t sit right with me. The rooms are pretty cramped too. Plus, my family member says there’s a bad odor in their room.

"My loved one is happy and comfortable at Balmoral"
My loved one is having a good stay at Balmoral! She likes being able to do things on her own schedule. Her room is really nice too. Although she doesn’t like the food for personal reasons, there are different options available. Overall, I think she’s as happy as she can be here!

"Needs more personal care"
I thought they'd take better care of my loved one. Trash piled up, bed unchanged, clothes unwashed, and a slightly dirty toilet. I wanted more attention to her showering and medications. I can't visit daily due to work, but I do come every few days. It's a relaxed area, like a holiday resort, beautiful with very nice and helpful staff.

"Dad loves it here!"
Everyone here is friendly and kind. There are many activities, but Dad hasn’t joined in yet. He enjoys the library and likes the food. The community and Dad’s room are always clean and tidy. He is adjusting well and likes living here.

"Friendly, caring staff!"
Our experience at Balmoral Assisted Living has been really positive! The staff is friendly and helpful, and they take great care of our loved one. Grandma loves it here, and although the staff seems a bit young and less professional at times, they still provide excellent care.

"Gorgeous facility, but VA help needed to afford it"

"Review of Balmoral Assisted Living & Memory Care, Lake Placid, FL"
I toured Balmoral to find a place for my father, who needs memory care. Joy, my guide, gave a very informative tour and greeted each staff member and resident by name. She introduced me to everyone we passed, and I even had private conversations with some of the residents. Joy was open and direct, answering all my questions clearly. The place was spotless, with wonderful courtyards that the residents seemed to enjoy. Balmoral offers a range of activities and aging-in-place services, and the memory care unit was truly impressive. Meals were delicious, and I saw staff treating residents with genuine care. A great feature is that memory care residents get the same activities as those in assisted living. The private rooms in memory care are a big plus. I’d feel very comfortable having one or both of my parents live at Balmoral.

"Very happy with the facility!"
I’m really happy with the facility. The food is great, and there’s plenty of parking. While there aren’t many outdoor areas, there are two interior courtyards with enough space for people to walk around in.

"Moving Mom Due to Poor Cleaning, Despite Friendly Staff"
My mom is usually able to handle going to the restroom on her own, but she sometimes has mishaps. During my visit, I saw some waste on the side of her toilet. I was shocked to see it still there four days later. I'm concerned that if I don't visit her regularly, the standard of care becomes less. Regardless, the staff are genuinely kind. At the moment, we're planning to move mom to another assisted living community.
