"Avoid This Facility- Better Options Available"
This place really stinks, from start to finish. Find a different place for your family member.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Activities and Services"
I thought the place was really clean and had enough room for things to do. But there weren't many activities, mostly because they didn't have enough staff. Plus, my husband needed help getting to appointments, but they couldn't do that in the memory care unit. If I knew all this before, I wouldn't have picked The Goldton.

"Expensive Costs and Limited Diabetic Options"
The staff is friendly and helpful, and the facility is mostly clean. They do a good job controlling unpleasant smells. However, the monthly cost is too high, and residents’ needs should be checked more often. Also, they should offer diabetic-friendly meals, snacks, and desserts. Unfortunately, not all meals are different, which I noticed because I have diabetes. I stayed there for six months.

"Daytime excellence, nighttime disappointment. Staffing inconsistency."
The Gold ton at St. Petersburg is good during the day but lacks care after hours. Staffing inconsistency.

"Excellent service and amenities make Goldton a top choice for families."
They listen well and take care of things promptly. They have nice events for families. The rooms are spacious and pleasant. The food looks good, and they provide transportation for appointments. Based on our experience so far, we would definitely recommend The Goldton at St. Petersburg to other families.

"Courtyard Disappointment at Goldton"
I didn’t really like the Goldton. It felt a bit strange. Their idea of a courtyard was just stepping outside and ‘making it your own.’ But there was nothing there except dirt and rocks. Definitely not inviting.

"Facility Cleanliness and Staff Friendliness Mixed with Limited Care"
It's pricey, but super clean. They claim to handle catheters, but my dad got no care. Staff is nice, but hands-off unless asked.

"Mixed Feelings about Assisted Living Facility"
We really like how the community is just the right size—not too small, not too large—and everything is on one floor, which makes it easy for residents to get around. The staff is friendly, though they could be quicker in responding. The grounds around the community could use some improvement. There's a fountain and a butterfly garden in the back that aren't working right now.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Care and Communication"
The food at the assisted living facility is terrible. Not just the taste, but the fact that they serve highly sugared desserts and drinks to people with Alzheimer’s and dementia. This goes against all the medical advice we know. Why is this happening? Also, I’m not getting consistent updates about my parents while they’re there. Thankfully, I can visit my mom twice a week. But there’s no regular reporting on the care provided to each resident. My phone calls go unanswered.

"Favorable tour, professional staff, but not ideal for wheelchair accessibility."
The Goldton reminded us of another place we visited. The tour was informative. The guide was professional and knew a lot. For my loved one in a wheelchair, the facility wasn't ideal. Overall, it seemed like a good place.

"Nice staff, good care, reasonable prices, and homemade food"
I attended a meeting when the company changed, and there were many complaints, but they weren't valid. My loved one has been here for two years, and she is treated well with no bruises. The staff is nice, which is very important. The prices are reasonable, and we like it here. The food is basic but good, just like homemade.

"Mixed experience in assisted living facility, room for improvement"
We thought things were good at first. Nice folks there. The marketing person and front desk staff were great. When my loved one moved in, we were happy. But now, the meals aren't as good, and it seems they lost their cook. The med techs are busy with meals and cleaning up, so getting meds can be tricky. You have to walk to a specific spot for meds, which isn't good for those who can't move easily. They haven't reordered necessary meds and there's pushback about giving them. The movie theater is broken, and maintenance issues take too long to fix. The Executive Director doesn't always return calls promptly, which is frustrating. The place looks nice, but since the ownership change, communication and quality of service have suffered. They promise to fix things but don't follow through. Some staff have left or are leaving soon. Activities lack excitement and encouragement for residents to join. It could be great, but they need to improve.

"Offensive and Depressing Environment with No Proper Safety Measures"
I wouldn't dare send my to this place. They're super disrespectful when they mention residents with memory care needs. The whole vibe is just depressing. The only safety measure they have is keeping residents locked in a section. What's worse is they don't even let residents have phones. I even saw a worker there cleaning chairs with a noisy vacuum cleaner right at dinner time. It got on my nerves, and I don't even have problems with agitation. If I could, I'd rate this place in the negatives.

"Specialized dementia care, friendly staff, clean environment."
I liked that this place was made just for folks with dementia and Alzheimer's. When I visited, the staff was super nice and told us a lot of helpful stuff during the tour. Everything looked clean and tidy too.

"Consider other options before choosing this care facility"
We visited this place to possibly move our friend here. It wasn't great. The workers there didn't act very professional and wouldn't answer our questions about how they take care of people. They didn't show us some things or the food that they give to people. We think other families should check out this place first to see if it feels right before deciding to move their loved one in.

"Safe and clean assisted living, great respite stay for Dad!"
My dad stayed here for a short break, and it was all good. The place is neat and tidy. The people who work there were nice, though there was one time when my dad fell because no one was around to help him sit. But, in general, it was a good experience, and I would suggest it to others.

"Highly Dissatisfied with Unfulfilled Promises and Lies"
At this moment, I'm truly upset with this place. My mom has been there for a fortnight and all I've gotten were empty assurances and dishonesty. I'm struggling to provide my elderly mom with the necessary help and medicines. They only pass me from person to person without any help. I'm totally fed up. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone right now.

"'Just Alright': Needs Improvement But Has Potential"
It's alright at this place. I wouldn't say I'm blown away, but it's doing the trick for right now. To be truthful, they're missing some important programs they should have but they're trying to fix that. They need some better people running things because they're struggling right now. A couple of folks helping with memory care are really amazing, though. What's really missing are activities, so the residents just tend to laze around between meals.

"Clean and friendly staff, but lacking warmth and comfort"
We visited this place when we were searching for care for someone we care about. The people who worked there were nice and seemed like they wanted to help, and the building was clean and tidy. But, it felt a bit like being in a hospital, not very cozy or personal. I didn't think our loved one would feel at home here.

"Helpful staff, good care, and fun activities."
The staff is very helpful and kind. The care services are good, but there’s still room to improve. The activities are nice. They are starting a memory unit and expect it to get even better.

"Great new facility with friendly staff and welcoming rooms!"
This facility is really new and beautiful. It was very clean. I saw only three residents, and they looked happy and comfortable. I got a tour of the kitchen, which no one else offered. The residents' rooms are warm and welcoming, with bright colors. They provide furniture, or you can bring your own. All the employees I met were friendly and said hello. They have Skype on their computers so residents can talk to family and friends who can’t visit. Very nice! They have a chapel for church on Sundays, and they are working on showing Sunday services on the residents' TVs for those who don’t want to go to the chapel. Residents can get snacks any time, day or night. They seem committed to involving families with the residents. The dining areas were well-lit and inviting. I didn’t get an activity calendar in the packet, but since this is a new place, I think they are still improving. It was very quiet. I was invited to bring my dad for a meal on the weekend to see if he would like it there, which other facilities didn’t offer. Their monthly price is all-inclusive with no extra fees except for the salon. It was a very nice and informative tour.

"They Do a Wonderful Job Here"
My loved one was only here for a brief time, but they really impressed me. I can't say enough good things about them. The facility was clean and well-kept. The staff were friendly, professional, and attentive, and they take great care of the residents. It's a great option if you're looking for senior care in the area.
