"Adapting to Assisted Living: Staff Makes It Pleasant"
It took me some time to get used to assisted living. It's not the same as living independently, but the staff here have really tried to make it nice. The best part for me has been the activities department—they've made my stay enjoyable.

"Compassionate and Respectful Care for Aging Parents"
We met with the staff to consider our parents living there. We were surprised how kind she was about our worries. She gave us advice on helping our mom when our dad, who has stage 5 CKD and is in hospice care, passes away. When we brought our parents for a tour, our mom was defensive and irritable. They handled her with patience and respect, showing us she'd treat her well as a resident. Thanks,

"Community Tour Falls Short on Cleanliness"
The staff was nice, but the community wasn't as clean during the tour as we hoped.

"Bradenton Oaks pleases despite challenges"
My wife and I searched a lot to find the right place for her active 95-year-old Dad. Bradenton Oaks suited his needs, and the people there are friendly and helpful. While there's room for improvement, we're pleased given the challenges of Covid and employee issues.

"Great views but far from downtown; pricey buy-in not suitable."
This assisted living facility is really nice and the person who showed us around was very helpful. The views of the bay are amazing. But it's pretty far from downtown St. Pete where all the shops and restaurants are. We wanted to pay month by month, so the big upfront payment they wanted wasn't what we were looking for.

"Not Recommended for Memory Care"
I want to let everyone know that memory care here isn't like they say. They don't really have any activities to help with memory. And they never take us outside to enjoy fresh air. I wouldn't recommend it. You should check out other places first.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Promises and Amenities"
This place said they'd take you to the doctor, but they don't. They blame a broken bus they won't fix. They're supposed to help with groceries, but it's rare. Only got one or two orders since November. Staff hardly ever calls. Only once to say my family was in the hospital. Food is terrible. My family likes bingo, though.

"Horrifying Neglect in Assisted Living Facility: A Daughter's Account"
Zero Stars. This concerns my mom, who lives in this facility. We can't visit her unless we give prior notice, and our meeting spot is in a storage room. Her woes started a few weeks back when we got notified that she was being rushed to the ER due to seizures. I arrived to find her in dirty clothes that were greasy and stunk. She also had bruises all over. I made a mental note of her condition, and after medical examination, she was released with no serious issues. Only three days later, she was admitted again in the ER. She was still in the same clothes, including the bloody cotton balls taped on her from the previous multiple IV ports. Today, she was back in the hospital, found unmoving in her room. Not associated to the previous ER trips, she now can't sit upright because her hip is hurting so much she can't even walk. The paramedic informed me that they were told she fell two days ago and wasn't the same since. Apparently, they waited until she was unresponsive to send her to the hospital, ignoring the fact that she couldn't move as a serious concern?! On reaching the ER, I requested her medication details, medical history, shower schedule, and care records, all of which were denied. [Name removed] told me they weren't obliged to maintain or share such records. But don't just believe me- go ask them yourself. This all unfolded in the facility's memory care unit. When I went to get her records around 4 p.m. on Sunday and asked to speak to someone in charge, I was told there was no one available to talk.

"Bradenton Oaks Assisted Living: Mixed Experience, Tech Nurse Issues"
If you're checking out Bradenton Oaks, I want you to know that the tech nurses aren't very good at what they do. They often seemed confused about my dad's medicine and weren't very friendly most of the time. A lot of the medicines they needed were out of stock, especially on weekends and holidays. The food wasn't good at all. It all tasted like it came from a box and was watered down. I'd only recommend it if you're okay with these problems.

"Excellent care and communication at Bradenton Oaks for my husband"
I visited this community before Covid, and it was clean with friendly, helpful staff. They really cared about the residents, and you could see it in how they interacted with them. After looking at other places, I chose to place my husband here. They keep me updated all the time. Thanks to Bradenton Oaks for always letting me know how my husband is doing. I really appreciate everything you do.

My grandma lives at Bradenton Oaks. It had a lot of problems before, but they've improved a lot in the past year. She's been there for over two years and is very happy. She's made a lot of friends and loves being social. Thank you, Bradenton Oaks, for making my grandma happy.

"Great Value and Spacious Rooms!"
This is a good place and you get a lot for your money. The room they showed us on our tour was bigger than the one at the place we chose, but the other place felt more like family. I would have picked this place, but the one we chose had a good move-in deal.

"Fantastic Care and Happy Dad at Bradenton Oaks!!"
Everyone at Bradenton Oaks is amazing. The staff are friendly and show they care about my dad. They’ve kept every promise they made. He’s looking healthier and enjoys three good meals every day. The rooms are nice, with colorful paint that matches the dark floors. He loves going out to dinner on Friday nights and joining other activities. I definitely recommend this community.

"Affordable with limited activities but convenient amenities."
Bradenton Oaks seems like a good option. It wasn't too expensive for my sister. They don't have tons of stuff to do, but they do want people to come out of their rooms and eat together in the dining area. They even have a van that can take residents to Walmart or for shopping. My sister doesn't love the food because she's picky.

"Adjusting to Assisted Living: Room for Improvement"
The person in charge was great at getting everything arranged. The room for my Dad was clean and ready for him, and they had handled all of the paperwork. My Dad hasn't been there long, just under one month. His main issue is with the food, and also the cleanliness of his living space, which only includes a bedroom and bathroom. They also offer apartments, which might be a better fit for him.

"Friendly But Expensive Facility, Uneven Pest Control, Privacy Concerns"
The staff at this assisted living facility are really nice. I'm worried because my dad gets his medicine from the VA, where he doesn't have to pay much. But they've been getting his meds from local pharmacies, and now I owe more than $1000. The place seems pretty clean, but there's a bug problem. My dad and I have talked to them about it. They've sprayed, but the bugs are still there. Someone walked into my dad's apartment once without knocking, but it hasn't happened again.

"Spacious, friendly, and great food!"
My 80-year-old friend lives in the assisted living section and is adjusting well. Her room is big and bright, with lots of storage and a large bathroom area. The staff is very friendly and pays attention to the needs and wants of the residents. They have a bus for outings and shopping, plus different activities each day. The facility is close to the hospital, shopping, and other fun places. The food is good and varied, and the residents can choose what they want to eat. My first impression of Bradenton Oaks was that it felt spacious, open, light, and friendly. I have recommended Bradenton Oaks to others, and I was happy to do so.

"Cozy Home-Like Assisted Living with Room for Improvement"
She thinks it's nice and people are friendly. But maybe they could listen more to how residents feel. Her room's one of the best, with hardwood floors and nice colors, feels like home. She's not feeling well now, so she's unhappy with being pushed to do things. It's clean, she loves her room, overall pretty happy.

"Visited Florida spot, great guide but location wasn't ideal."
Took a tour of this spot when in Florida. It's really nice, mainly because of the dude who guided us. He knew a lot! But, I didn't dig the place where it's located and it just didn't feel right.

"Extremely Disappointed In The Undesirable Conditions At Assisted Living"
The place isn't tidy at all, it even has a bad odor. I was really shocked that their TV room for the old folks is right next to the entrance. It's where everyone walks by, while the main desk is also situated there. The elderly usually feel cold, this isn't a good place for them. Really, I'm not impressed at all!

"Compact Rooms and Elevator Usage a Downside"
It was okay, but the rooms were pretty tiny. Plus, you didn't get too much room for the price. The building also had multiple levels, which meant using elevators, and we weren't a fan of that.

"Ensuring Safety and Quality for Residents"
My mother-in-law needed extra care due to her dementia. We chose this place because it has 24 units with 1 and 2 bedroom apartments, plus its own dining area. We were worried she might wander off, so the security here was a big relief. There was one issue with her laundry being left out, but after I mentioned it, they fixed it. I like to visit unannounced to see how things are going, and I've been pleased with what I've seen. Overall, I think they're doing a good job.
