"Disappointing Experience at Aldea Green Assisted Living"
Aldea Green smelled really bad, like pee. Everyone sat together near the front, they seemed bored and not excited. I felt sad because I preferred that room the most and I liked that it was a smaller group of people.

The staff in sales was super nice and helped us get my mom settled quickly. Mom's happy, especially with the food and activities. Only downside: occasional urine smell.

The place was good with our family, but they need to get better at talking with us. We chose this place because it's near our family.

Our family stopped by Aldea Green during one of our scheduled tours. The place was pleasant, although it could benefit from some modern updates. The staff, however, were incredibly friendly.

"Friendly Staff and Great Activities at Aldea Green Assisted Living"
The people who work at Aldea Green are really nice, and from our time here, we think other families would like it too. We haven't tried the food ourselves, but our family member says it's good. They don't join in the activities, but it looks like they're really fun.

"Avoid: Dangerous, Dirty Assisted Living Facility with Uncaring Staff"
Avoid this dreadful assisted living facility at all costs. It's a hazard to be in, largely because there's no sufficient staff to attend to the residents. The sanitation levels are at an all-time low, with residents forced to sit in their own filth. The staff's attitude is appalling; they are not interested in the well-being of the residents. It's apparent they're only there for the money. Though the facility may seem less expensive, the quality of care reflects the price. I urge you to stay away!

"Mixed feelings about Aldea Green's service quality amid staffing concerns."
We liked Aldea Green overall. Lately, they might lack enough staff, affecting their services. Initially, we didn't see any problems. However, they're still a nice, welcoming place.

""Neglectful Home Takes Money, Offers Low-Quality Care.""
This place is always just taking your money. They don't make sure people are okay every day. My family member was sick and stayed in their room for two days, but no one even noticed. The hot water is always out, and the place is filthy. We actually had to buy a vacuum cleaner for our family member because they said all of theirs were broken. She puts her garbage out by her room and it sits there for days. They tell her she needs to kneel down and defrost or clean her fridge. People with dementia are left hollering for hours, which bothers everyone else. The person in charge couldn't care less and can't do their job right.

" "Shoddy Facility with Poor Service, Verbal Abuse and Theft""
Shoddy Assisted Living Facility with Deplorable Conditions and Poor Service" This facility is a rundown mess. There's a constant cacophony of blasting music in the hallways, bouncing between rap and Elvis on repeat. They seem to waste large quantities of food that end up tossed away. Unbelievably, you have to make your own bed. Bathrooms aren't cleaned regularly and there's a lack of leisure activities. Instead, residents are often left idle and waiting for scheduled events that rarely occur. The carpet is discolored, black and gross. On public holidays, the staff has their own celebrations, blatantly blocking windows so that the residents can't see the festivities. Add to that horribly distasteful holiday decorations, like skeletons for Halloween and grinch figures for Christmas. There's also a big problem with residents' personal belongings just vanishing. Right now, there's even a resident who has a continuously barking dog situated near the dining area, causing havoc. Charging extra for essential services like bathing assistance or medication delivery seems to be the norm. They don't even offer transportation. Some residents suffer verbal abuses and there are a lot of loud, Spanish-speaking workers in the cafeteria which ruins the peace. Unbelievably, during the Covid period, the cafeteria staff has been inappropriately touching the residents while serving food. I strongly suggest not placing a loved one in this facility.

"Avoid Aldea Green: Poor Care and Dissatisfied Residents"
This place promised to care for my dad, but within less than a month of moving him in, we quickly realized he needed to move out. It felt like the employees didn't care about the people living there at all. In fact, it seemed like they disliked their jobs and saw the residents as mere annoyances. I was worried that all assisted living facilities would be like this, but once we moved my dad out, we saw just how bad Aldea Green actually was. Two other families I talked to and three residents my dad now lives with had bad experiences with Aldea Green too. Maybe it's okay if your family member can take care of themselves and stand up for their rights. But from what I saw, many residents at Aldea weren't happy and it felt more like a place people go when they're close to dying. There's no good life there. I would never suggest this place to anyone, even if it didn't cost a dime.

"Avoid This Facility: Poor Services and Cleaning, High Prices"
This spot might work if your folks don't need any assistance, because even though the staff may seem nice, they are hardly ever available to perform their duties like helping with showers, getting dressed, using the restroom, and more. We paid for all these services on top of the rent, which kept getting pricier each year. Once Brookdale took over from Emeritus, the quality took a nosedive. The big-sized rooms and the cost might seem attractive, but believe me, it's better to shell out more money to ensure your loved one actually gets the services they need. My parents wouldn't get showers for weeks if I didn't step in to help, and the same goes for laundry and housekeeping duties. The place is dirty and has a really bad odor...watch out.

"The staff truly care and go the extra mile"
Mom loves it at Brookdale. She’s made new friends and gets involved as much as she wants. She likes the weekly bus trips for shopping and eating out. It’s a big relief to be able to go out of town without worrying about her. We know she's getting the best care. She really likes the staff and the food. The place is clean and well kept. I'd recommend this place.

"Impressed by Socialization at Brookdale Brandon"
Before the tour began, we were impressed by the residents' socialization at Brookdale Brandon. Staff members greeted residents by name and cared about their needs. Our tour guide, [Removed], was friendly and easy to talk to, answering all our questions and showing us some apartments suitable for my elderly father. Overall, Brookdale is at the top of our list. However, my father's health has worsened, so we are unsure about future placement for him.

"A Very Caring Community"
My dad lives here and is doing well. He is slowly getting used to the community. The staff is very nice and helpful. They remember some of his likes and even brought his meal to his room, making a sandwich he chose. There are many activities, and they remind residents who signed up. I just wish they could help my dad remember to sign up for the activities. Linda is always available when I need to reach a staff member.

"Unsatisfactory Medical Care at Ideal Location Facility"
My mom has been living here since last July, and our time here hasn't been the best. We've encountered multiple problems related to medical care and medication, which costs extra, since she moved in. There's a serious lack of communication between the administration and family members. It's a shame because it's in a great location. Ideally, they'll fix these problems so she can stay. She seems to like her caregivers, and the food and activities are okay. The building is mostly clean, though her first room was cleaner than her second one. The key problems are the medical care and lack of communication. So far, I'm not satisfied with our experience.

"Brookdale Brandon: Nightmare Facility Flunks in Care"
This place is a nightmare. Don't make the mistake of placing any family members here, and don't be fooled by their commercials that paint a picture of a tight-knit, familial environment. This couldn't be further from the truth. This place is simply horrendous. You can verify this with the Florida Ombudsman's office. My mother, for the first 18 days, was kept in bed without any washing or bathing, regardless of our countless calls and visits. She's a vegetarian, but the staff tried to make her eat a beef burger, deceiving her into thinking it was vegetable-based. They would lift her using her pant waistband instead of properly helping her get in and out of bed. The staff are generally unpleasant, always squabbling over who does more work. Calls for help via pendants don't get responded to promptly. My mother, in several instances, had to call me to contact the facility because no one had responded for over 20 minutes. The staff was also chronically late in assisting her to use the restroom. During the facility's tour, the executives glossed over how my mother, a stroke patient, would be taken care of. She spent an unfortunate month at Brookdale Brandon, which set her recovery back tremendously. I had to transfer her to a private rehab at a cost of thousands of dollars per month just to help regain her strength. The most discouraging staff member was the Director of Nursing. Her manner of communication was puzzling, often saying things that made no sense. Brookdale Brandon is not a suitable place for anyone you care about.

"Nice Community!"
Emeritus at Brandon has done a good job overall. It's a nice, clean community, and everyone here is very friendly. They could improve by adding more variety to their activities and organizing more outings. The food is high quality but sometimes comes out cold due to serving logistics. Overall, I've been happy here and would recommend it to others.

"Clean, friendly, and value-packed assisted living with minor drawbacks."
This place is really clean. They have two kinds of staff. The med techs are awesome. But when you try to talk to the administrative staff, they don't pick up or call back. Instead, the nurses and other staff help out, which shows how great they are. I think it's worth the money. There are activities, but not all are as fun as the senior center's. I wish they would remind people about the activities. They have other places nearby for people with dementia. If we need to move, the deposit goes with us, which is helpful. The food tastes really good. The portions are small, but that's okay. The dining room feels like a restaurant, and you get choices. The waitstaff does a good job and is friendly. The nurse gave us good advice. They manage medications well too. People make friends easily here. They have a bus to take you places, and if you ask a week ahead, they'll take you somewhere different on Thursdays.

"My sister and I stopped by..."
My sister and I stopped by. It was a wonderful place with planned activities. People were in the craft room or walking around, looking happy. The staff plans trips to the mall and shopping. Once a week, they go to dinner if they choose. It was clean, and the staff was very friendly. However, at this time, my mom can't afford it.

"Mixed Reviews on Expensive, Self-Service Assisted Living Facility"
The staff I've met at this assisted living facility were really nice, but my mom might not feel the same way. It seems like it costs a lot, though I'm not sure how much other places ask for. They charge for everything, even small things that should be already included in the price. For example, they charge her $7 to bring her food to her room each meal. My mom isn't a fan of moving herself to the dining room and she feels like they don't want to help her because of her weight. She doesn't join any activities, she prefers staying in her room, so it's tough for me to comment about the activities. We checked out Emeritus first, and then another place, but we chose Emeritus because it seemed more modern.
