"Great Place for Dad!"
Brookdale Colonial Park has been wonderful for our Dad. The staff is friendly, but Dad isn’t a fan of the food. Still, we’d definitely recommend it to others.

We liked Brookdale Colonial Park, but it’s too expensive for us. The staff at Colonial Park is experienced, and residents are happy.

"Good Experience with Assisted Living Facility"
My family and I have had a good experience with this assisted living facility. They do a great job cleaning my loved one's room. They help with medications, bathing, and laundry, which is very helpful. My loved one mentioned that the food served can be repetitive. It would be nice if they could offer more variety. However, there are plenty of activities for the residents to join in. The activity leaders have been excellent in getting residents involved in these activities.

"Mixed Messages at Assisted Living Facility"
We went to see this place when our family member was in rehab. She was wearing a neck brace, and they said it was fine for her to have it. Later, when we visited the facility, they said they couldn't take her because of the neck brace. It was really annoying.

"Mixed Feelings on Distance from Family Visits"
During the tour, I found the community quite pleasant. However, the location was farther than ideal for family visits.

"Colonial Park Brookdale: A Safe Haven for Mom"
After my Mom lost her husband, she chose to move back home to Florida from Tennessee. Our family discovered Colonial Park Brookdale, and it seemed like a great match. The staff assisted us throughout the entire process. Now, after about 3 months, we're thrilled to have Mom in Florida, where she's safe and well-cared-for.

"Staffing Changes and Meal Concerns at Assisted Living Facility"
They've had turnover in staff recently. The director even cooks now. Meals used to offer choices but now it's just one option. They lost sales and accounting staff, which worries me. Complaints about food existed before staffing issues. Care is generally good, but concerns remain. During tours, everyone behaves well. However, after a family member moved in, the director ignores residents, unlike during tours.

"Highly Recommended for Care"
This is a nice community for my father's care. The staff were helpful and answered all our questions about the care provided. The community was clean, with a variety of activities and menu choices. We suggest families tour this community for their loved one's care.

"We Really Enjoy It!"
The staff at this assisted living facility is doing a great job with my husband and me. The community is super clean, and we enjoy being here. The food is tasty, and we like socializing with other residents in the dining hall. Our apartment is spacious and filled with natural light.

"I would recommend this community."
Everything is going great for my parents. They are adjusting well. The community is almost done with remodeling, and it looks updated and nice. My parents have said good things about the meals and activities. I’m happy with what the community offers.

"Great Decision for Our Family!"
Even though moving was a big change for my parents and me, it turned out to be a good one. I feel relieved knowing they are close and well taken care of. They feel better too, knowing professional help is available 24/7 and it's less of a burden on their loved ones.

"Consider Other Choices: Average Care and Food"
We weren't satisfied with this place. They didn't really provide individualized care to match her needs. The food was just so-so. The place was clean, but it wasn't really what we had in mind. The staff seemed to be somewhat uninterested. We'd advise other families to visit this place before deciding on care for a family member.

"Caring and Clean Assisted Living!"
We picked Brookdale Colonial Park and are pleased. The staff is nice and keeps us updated, answering our questions. The place is always tidy and looks good when we visit. The food seems tasty, but sometimes the portions are small, which my loved one notices.

"Great Visit, But Not Right for My Brother"
I had a pleasant walk-through of this place. Everything looked taken care of and clean. The visit was good, and they were really nice to us. But, it just wasn't the right fit for my brother and his specific needs.

"Great community with friendly staff and fun activities!"
Everything has been great at Brookdale Colonial Park. The administrator made the move smooth. The building is older, but the community is well-kept. The staff is friendly and easy to work with. They offer lots of activities for residents to enjoy.

"Meeting Needs with Care at Colonial Park"
Colonial Park has been a great choice for my brother. He has the freedom to come and go as he pleases, and he gets the daily care he needs from the amazing staff. I could have given this place a full five stars, but no place is perfect and there’s always room to improve. I really appreciate the caring attitude of the administration and staff, and I'm thankful for their excellent care during the first month. It makes me feel much better knowing my brother is in good hands at Colonial Park.

""Friendly Staff, But Overpriced and Not So Clean""
We had a look at this place when trying to find care for our family member. Honestly, it didn't wow me much. The people working there were nice, but the place itself didn't seem too clean. On top of that, it seemed pretty pricey considering what they seemed to offer.

My husband and I visited my 83- and 84-year-old parents in Florida right before Christmas. We quickly saw that my mom’s dementia and my dad’s physical health meant they needed assisted living. We checked out 6 different places on December 23, but my mom didn’t agree until Christmas morning. Once she did, the staff worked really hard to help us move them in quickly. By December 26, my parents were in their new apartment at Colonial Park. It’s been a big change for them, but the staff has been super helpful and given them lots of attention to make things easier. What we like about Colonial Park: It’s all on one floor, so no elevators or worries about my mom forgetting where to go. They have set meal times, but the food is really good, the dining room is nice, and the wait staff is friendly and polite. There’s a beautiful grand piano in the big living area, which is great if your parents play piano. They have a big activity room with Wii games, a drink bar, and lots of space for groups. The Activities Director’s office is right there. About half of the apartments, including my parents’, open to a large, enclosed outdoor area with a gazebo, tables, chairs, and even a grill. They have regular, reliable van transportation that my parents use 4 or 5 times a week. My dad gets physical therapy every day in their on-site gym and is already getting stronger. There are other bridge players in the community, which is important to my parents. It’s a lovely place with colonial-style furniture that my parents have always loved. It smells good! They have a secure memory care facility if needed in the future. It’s on a major road, so it’s easy to get to.

"It's like a second home."
It's like a second home. The people are friendly. The food is good, but not amazing. The laundry service is excellent, and there's plenty of parking. It's a wonderful place. I would choose this place if I needed support when I get older.

"Emeritus is the best choice for caring and fun living!"
Schechter and Bethany at Emeritus at Colonial Park on Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota really helped me choose where my father will live. There are many options in or near Sarasota, but picking Emeritus was easy. They focus on people and work hard to give the best care and respect to their residents. The place is very clean, well-staffed, and has a variety of activities.

Should have done this sooner.
"Comforting environment, could improve staff consistency."
My mom feels safe here, but she misses home. It's hard for her to enjoy everything Colonial offers in Assisted Living. The meals are great, and the dining areas are lovely. Colonial doesn't feel like a hospital; it feels like a fancy hotel for older folks. The apartments are huge; our friends are always surprised. I've noticed some staff changes lately, but I'm not sure if that's normal.

"Decent Care Facility but Requires Maintenance and More Activities"
This place feels different, almost like your own home. They even have a secure area, perfect for residents with dementia. It's often full and there are two types of care levels. I'd recommend it if you know someone struggling with Alzheimer's. The director is new, and the facility is just okay. Nothing too extraordinary to note. You can tell that the place needs some work. The patio cover is torn and the seats got so damaged, they removed the cushions. It really could use some good cleaning. It seems like they're not investing in keeping the place looking nice. The rooms are decent and the food is also okay. But, there used to be more family dinners and happy hours.

"It was the best choice for the price."
The assisted living facility took some time to catch up, and their follow-through wasn’t great. However, my brother-in-law considered it the best option for the price, even though maintenance could be better.

"Pushy sales approach, high Memory Care costs. Julie eager."
The lady, Julie, really wanted me to check out the place. But they were pretty pushy about getting me to sign up. The Memory Care prices were expensive, starting at $3125.

"Great choice for Mom, welcoming and caring staff!"
We moved Mom in last weekend, and they were really flexible with helping us make the move. Everyone has gone above and beyond, and I feel like we made the right choice for her. The apartment was spotless and ready for us to move in. For the first three days, they checked on her more often to make sure she was doing okay, which was really reassuring since her memory isn’t what it used to be. We haven't met a staff member who doesn’t care, and even the other residents have made her feel welcome.

"Great location and unique pricing levels!"
Awesome location! I also like the three pricing levels that you can't find anywhere else. The rooms are big enough for my mom's heavy bedroom furniture. I like the evaluation program they have.
