"Management was a bit insistent, but overall great care for Mom."
The only downside is that the people in charge, while they did a lot to assist my Mom and we appreciate them very much, were somewhat forceful in trying to convince my Mom to stay there instead of returning to her home in Wisconsin, where she is now and is very content. I know they need people to stay long-term, but they were a little tough on her.

"Unsatisfactory Care at Expensive Assisted Living Facility"
The staff here is friendly enough, but they completely ignore the cleaning tasks. Dirty walls and floors go uncleaned for a week or more. They don't seem to bother about fulfilling residents' needs or mandatory requirements. Instead, they seem to do what they aren't supposed to do, and then get bothered by the results. Some staff members do a better job than others, with caregivers showing more care than the nursing staff. When it comes to cost, they charge a whopping $7000 per month but don't deliver on their promises. They even have a feeding fee of $1300 to keep my mother, who has Alzheimer's, separated from others at meal times. They don't even take care of her nutrition properly as, despite only drinking Ensure, they refuse to provide her with it in the right manner. My loved one had a full month's supply of clothes, undergarments, and two weeks worth of pajamas. However, when my sister visited, all her clothes had disappeared. The staff even used her personal items like diapers, wipes, and towels for other residents. We were forced to label and date everything. Almost everyone from the previous staff was fired except three individuals, and sadly, the new ones aren't much better. I wouldn't advise anyone to go to this facility.

"Challenges with Staff and Care at Assisted Living"
We’ve had some trouble with a few staff members who are tough to be friends with, even when we’re kind to them. They’re not looking after my family member the way I hoped. A few times, I’ve found them in a wet diaper. I wish they had checked things out better at the start so we wouldn’t have to think about moving them. Overall, it’s been pretty rough.

"Memory Care Unit Falls Short, Not Recommended for Loved Ones"
My family member stayed in the memory care unit, but she didn't really need that much attention. We tried several times to move her to assisted living, but it never happened. Most of the residents in the memory care unit were just wheeled in front of the TV all day, even if they didn't want to be there. They also crowded the eating area, making it hard for others to get around. It was a pretty sad situation overall. I wouldn't suggest this place, especially for memory care.

"Pleasant Assisted Living Experience in Destin, FL"
My friend wanted to stay near Destin, FL. We checked a couple places, but none were as nice as Brookdale. At first, she didn't like leaving her house. But since COVID started, she's had a ground floor apartment with a porch, and she's been really happy. Her 2-bedroom unit gives her plenty of space, especially during lockdown. She really likes the staff and the porch has been great for fresh air. She thinks they've done a good job keeping her safe from the virus. Overall, we're happy with it.

"Expensive and Strict Contract, Livable But Not Worth It"
I stayed at Brookdale Destin Senior Living for about a year until my wife passed away. It was okay, but definitely not worth the high cost they ask for. Make sure you read every single word in their long contract because they will enforce it strictly and come after you if you don't follow every rule in the 30-page bundle.

"“A Comfortable Choice”"
My mom is happy here in the assisted living. Her apartment has a screened-in patio, and we brought in some of her own furniture to make it feel like home. She enjoys going to the dining room and eating with other residents—the food is pretty good. There are lots of amenities for everyone to enjoy. I recommend taking a tour of this community.

"Convenient Location With Friendly Staff and Well-Maintained Facilities"
This place was really nice. It looked clean and well taken care of. The people who worked there were friendly and kind. The residents we talked to seemed happy and safe. We didn't eat there, but the food looked and smelled good. It was a bit farther than I wanted though.

"Clare Bridge Wing Offers Excellent Care and Respectful Service"
The facility is clean, bright, and well-maintained. The staff is friendly, helpful, and caring. My parents have been living there for 2 months and are very happy. They stay in the Clare Bridge wing, where the staff treats everyone with respect. Everyone I met during my visit was kind and did their job well.

"Great place with spacious rooms!"
My mother is really happy here! I can't think of anything they need to change. The rooms are a lot bigger than other places around here. Each apartment even has its own outdoor space!

"Comfortable Assisted Living with Friendly Staff and Varied Activities"
The workers are awesome, though the building's kinda old-fashioned. But they take good care of folks living there. Lots of fun things to do inside and outside, for people who like doing their own thing and for those who need more help. I'd be totally okay with my in-laws living there. It's in a really handy spot.

"Appreciative of Brookdale's Caring and Personal Touch"
I'm really thankful for the care my husband received from the Brookdale staff. Dementia is a tough illness, and everyone there was so kind to both him and me. They provided a personal touch that meant a lot when I couldn't care for him myself. I'll always be grateful that Brookdale was the perfect choice for us.

"Smooth sailing with a few bumps: Overall, it's pretty good."
This place is going okay up to now. She really doesn't like the food; it's terrible. But the other people living here seem nice. I don't have any issues with how they take care of the building or the workers. For now, it seems alright.

"Wonderful Respite Experience at Brookdale Destin"
My mom stayed at Brookdale Destin for a short time, and it was a great experience for us. We got a much-needed break, and Mom enjoyed meeting new people. Brookdale Destin was really clean and nicely decorated. Mom had a nice two-bedroom apartment with a screened-in patio. Everything was perfect. The staff was very friendly, and we felt confident that Mom would be well taken care of. There are lots of activities for the residents if they want to join in. We strongly recommend this place for your loved ones.

"Beautiful and Friendly Community"
We visited this place while looking for care options for my loved one, and it was one of the best we saw. We almost chose it and were high on the wait list. The facility was beautiful, the care was good, and the staff were very friendly and professional. Sadly, it was just too far away, so we decided against it for our family.

"Good Choice, Yet Interior Could Use Refreshing"
Our mom, who is 90 years old, moved into Crystal Bay. This place is safe and secure because it’s inside the Sandestin Resort, which has a gate. The resort itself is really nice with great stuff to do. The building at Crystal Bay is kind of old, with three floors and just one elevator, which isn’t enough. The inside, though, still looks out-of-date, especially the kitchens and bathrooms in the apartments. Everything’s clean, but it’s all pretty old-fashioned, like the popcorn ceilings. Mom enjoys the meals, the help she gets, the friendly staff, and the fun activities. We all think choosing Crystal Bay was a smart move, and we’d say go for it if it’s within your budget. The problems we’ve come across are small ones.

"Amazing Food, Beautiful Place, but Big Menu"
The food here is amazing! The menu is top-notch. It’s really big, which I didn’t like much because it felt easy to get lost. The place is beautiful. If you like being around people, you’ll love it here. But if you prefer a more private setting, it might not be the best fit.

"Promising Start: Assisted Living Facility in Transition"
Mom just moved in on November 6th, so it's early to judge. Staff interactions have been positive so far. The facility appears clean and pleasant, with friendly and helpful staff. Outside renovations are happening, but inside could use updating.
