"Mixed Experience at Brookdale Assisted Living"
The food and service were really bad, and they never fixed it when we complained. Rooms weren't cleaned enough. The staff was nice but not good at following up. We liked being able to choose our care services at Brookdale. It worked for us temporarily, but we would have moved elsewhere if it was permanent.

"More Services and Food Variety Needed at Assisted Living Facility"
The care services need more options for rides to different places. We want more kinds of food choices for everyday meals. The holidays were enjoyable for residents because the activities director decorated the living room.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
My family member stayed there briefly after a fall. Staff promptly notified us about the incident. They helped with medication, dressing, and bathing.

"False promises and confusion in assisted living facility"
I moved my aunt into this place after sorting out all the paperwork and permissions. She was only there for about two hours before they said she couldn't stay. Apparently, she was considered a risk because she smokes. Although they knew she smoked and said it was okay, they changed their minds when she got there. It was a really confusing situation. They managed it okay but didn't keep the promises they made at the start.

"Outdated and Depressing Assisted Living Facility"
I live close to Brookdale Dr. Phillips, but it's outdated and not appealing. I found it old and depressing.

"Smaller Facility with Gender Imbalance"
We visited Brookdale, a nice place, but smaller. More women than men, and we wanted a better ratio for my dad.

"Assisted Living Falls Short on Promised Care; Activities Inaccessible"
When we arrived at the assisted living facility with our loved one, it wasn't clear where she was supposed to go. We thought she would get the care she needed here, but that wasn't the case. Hospice suggested we find a smaller community where she could get more personal attention, but this place wouldn't cooperate. They had plenty of activities for residents, but our loved one couldn't join in.

"Headline: "Memory Care Unit Unsuited for Dementia Patients""
My wife stayed in the memory care unit of this facility, designed to treat residents with dementia. On her third day there, I was informed that she had become aggressive towards the staff and I was told I needed to hire outside help - at my expense - to look after her overnight. Despite this, only three days later, I received another call saying they had to discharge her since they couldn't control her. I immediately relocated her to Savannah Grand in Maitland, which thus far has provided superior care, according to the staff's reports. I don't recommend this facility for dementia patients as their team seems unequipped to manage these types of residents.

"Staff Changes and Safety Delays at Assisted Living"
In the last year, a lot of workers have left the job. We lost some awesome people who really looked out for us. The folks who are still here are nice and kind, but the team could use folks from different backgrounds. When we bring up stuff about staying safe, it takes too long for them to do something about it.

"Great Staff, Activities, and Layout, Not Right Location for Mom"
I really liked my experience at this place for my mom. The staff were on time for our appointment and made sure to answer all our questions. I liked how easy it was for residents to get around, and they had lots of fun things to do every week. But it didn't end up being the best spot for my mom. Still, I'd tell others about it!

"Non-existent Security and Lack of Cleanliness at Care Facility"
The staff was really nice, but we had big concerns about the safety. They had a sign-in book, but no one really had to use it. You'd ring a doorbell and they'd let you in, but nobody ever asked who you were or who you were there to see. It also didn't look too clean in the shared spaces or the rooms. Even when we asked them to clean our family member's room more, they didn't. It was a sad place to be. It was expensive, but it didn't seem worth the price. So, we picked a better home that was a better fit for our family member.

"Satisfied with Mom's Care, Food Could Be Better"
This place is really nice, and I'm happy with how they're taking care of my mom. She's doing okay, just not loving the food. Everything else is good though. It's clean and the people who work here are nice. We're happy with how they're looking after her. I'd say it's a good place to consider.

"Spotless Care!"
My mother-in-law stayed here for just one week. We didn't try any of the community amenities, but the place was very clean. The community staff were helpful when they brought in a hospital bed and cared for her during her time here.

"Care needed in food selection and outdoor cleanliness!"
This place keeps their inside areas very tidy and offers a lot of fun activities. But, their outdoor spaces could use some major cleaning up. Especially the outdoor seats need new cushions. They provide good meals, but I don't think they're considering my mom's health. A lot of the food she eats here isn't good for her and is making her feel worse.

"Satisfactory Elderly Care at Brookdale Dr. Phillips"

"For what it is, it's okay"
At Brookdale Dr. Philips, the only frustrating thing is that the price range they initially gave us was $2000 less than what it actually ended up being. Because of the expense, Dad will have to move soon. Overall, it's an okay place, but I wouldn't say it's the best option for a loved one. The environment is safe, but they don't actively encourage people to participate in activities unless they're in the main living area. As a result, my dad spends a lot of time in his room. The staff is great, and they've resolved any issues I've had. If someone has a lot of money to spare, this could be a good choice.

"Nice Place, but High Costs"
I’d probably give it a 5-star rating, but they really don’t make exceptions. You need to have the money ready if you want to stay there. The cheapest room is about $4,500 a month, and they have even pricier options. My brother didn’t want to pay that much. The place was nice, with comfortable rooms, but the ones we could afford were a bit small for what my mom needed.
