"Mixed Experience at Charter Senior Living"
Our family had problems with Charter Senior Living because the medications were mixed up twice, and our loved one didn't want to join activities. Overall, we'd suggest this community to other families.

"Mixed Experience at Charter Senior Living"
Charter Senior Living in Gainesville is easy to find. The Director and the current MD are helpful, but the previous MD wasn’t. They could make the activities better. We do appreciate the updated facilities.

"Comfortable Community with Respite Care, Some Seating Issues"
I told others about this place. We chose it because it was the only one that had short-term care. A lot of people like to sit outside, but the cushions are old and make it hard for them to stand up.

"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living Facility"
I think the main problem here is the staff changing a lot, especially the health director. I hope the current one sticks around. They've also had some other staff changes, but that might happen everywhere. The new activities haven't caught my brother's interest. He's hard to please. He says the food is alright. Sometimes it's really good, but other times just okay.

"Lacking Care: Disappointing Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
My dad had really bad memory problems, and we wanted a special place where they would take extra good care of him. But, the place we picked didn't do that well. At first, he needed help with eating and remembering to drink water. But they weren't good at helping him with that all the time. He ended up getting so dehydrated that he had to go to the hospital twice, and he lost a bunch of weight. Also, he fell down a lot, even in the middle of the night when he was supposed to be watched over. It just wasn't safe for him. Looking back, he probably would've been better off in a hospice or a hospital where they could keep a closer eye on him. He only stayed there for less than six months before he passed away. And, sadly, a lot of other people there died too, some not long after my dad. Many of them fell down too, and some had bruises. I'd say this place is okay if you can take care of yourself pretty well and don't need much help. But they don't have many fun things to do there either.

"Safe and Happy Environment with Lots of Activities"
The people here are really nice and made us feel welcome. There are lots of fun activities. They make you feel like you'll be in a safe and happy place. Housekeeping is included, but there were some small issues that got fixed.

Certainly! Here's the rewritten review in 8th-grade level American English: " comments from Nurse [name removed]. My loved one missed meals, lost weight, and faced bathing issues. Suggestions: Improve staffing and management education." 😊

"Facility's Unethical Practices Following Deposit"
November's tour was promising. We'd hoped my loved would move in after Christmas. Unfortunately, a COVID outbreak led to a lockdown at the facility. They disallowed moving in but took our upfront payment for a month. We corresponded weekly, but she was unable to relocate throughout January. The facility still permitted us to put her stuff in her room. Shockingly, they demanded additional funds for two more months after her health worsened. I declined, and we lost our deposit. Sadly, she fell even more ill and eventually passed away waiting to settle in. Adding insult to injury, they're now trying to deduct funds from my account, even though she never lived there. After they claimed the deposit, I had to request my bank to block their access. I am baffled as to why they believe we owe them anything.

"Caring and Affordable Senior Living Experience"
We picked Charter Senior Living because [name removed] answered all my questions well and showed us around several times. They helped with costs, which was great for us. Everyone has been friendly and caring. I'd suggest it to others.

"Affordable Care with Average Services and Decent Food"
Brookdale Gainesville provides affordable care for your elderly loved one. The services are average, and my family member had enough space during their stay. The food is okay—not terrible—and meets expectations. They can choose items from the menu.

"Impressive tour, happy residents!"
gave a great tour and helpful information. The place was super clean and felt like an upscale hotel. The residents seemed happy and content. interacted with various residents during the tour, showing personal interest. They hold community meetings to let residents express their likes and dislikes, helping the staff serve them better. I was very impressed with the facility.

"A Wonderful Place for Mom to Thrive!"
I’m so glad we found A Place For Mom, which led us to Brookdale Gainesville Southwest. I really wish we had discovered it sooner! My mom looks so happy and healthy now. I love that Brookdale has a calm atmosphere where residents can explore freely. They are very careful about safety, with all doors locked and using keypad entry. My mom feels safe here and can move around to different areas. There are plenty of staff members who keep an eye on everyone. I finally have peace of mind!

"Quality Advisor, but Lack of Proper Care for Demented Loved One"
My family member had a fall, likely due to lack of proper care. We noticed he needed more watchfulness and care than what was provided. The place is small and charming. I had a good impression of the community during my first visit. He has dementia, so I should have chosen a place that specializes in his condition. My advisor was really helpful.

It's been a good experience for my dad at this place. The care and supervision are going well. I had some issues with the cost at first, but they'll get fixed. My dad's room is kept clean, and the bathroom is wiped down. The whole place is clean and well-maintained. My dad really likes the meals.

"Brookdale Gainesville: Not Very Impressive"
I checked out this place when I was trying to find a good home for my family member. I visited a lot of places around town, but Brookdale Gainesville didn't impress me much. It didn't look as nice as other places with the same price. The carpets seemed like they hadn't been vacuumed for a long time and there was a strong, funky smell.

"I think it’s a great facility!"
I think it’s a great facility. My mother has dementia, so she sees things differently. She complains every day about not having coffee or butter at breakfast. There’s always something new to complain about. The staff communicates well, but I find it hard to know who to contact for certain issues. Overall, I still believe it’s a very good place. I would recommend it.

"Overcharged for Questionable Care Level"
We've had an okay run with Brookdale Gainesville. On the face of it, it seems like a decent assisted living home. But, the last invoice I got was way more than what we initially agreed upon. Turns out, they had bumped up her care level to the highest without even letting me know. What's more, I'm not convinced the services they're delivering for her are even equivalent to their top care level. So I don't get why they're billing me for that.

"Highly Recommend Emeritus of Gainesville"
Emeritus of Gainesville is a great place for my mom in the Alzheimer's care unit. The care she gets is outstanding considering her challenges. Emeritus has recently joined Brookdale Senior Living Solutions in Milwaukee, WI, and there have been many changes. There’s a full-time RN during the day and early evening, and on call after hours for emergencies. A Gerontology MD is on staff to treat patients at the facility. They can now do lab work, give meds, and schedule visits with a podiatrist and physical therapy. There’s also a beauty salon on-site. The food is wonderful, with a good variety made by trained chefs. Visitors can dine with residents anytime for a small fee, without needing to call ahead. There are many supervised activities like arts, crafts, and performances. Despite rising costs, Emeritus pricing is very reasonable today.

"Mom Feels Spoiled and Safe at Emeritus at Gainesville"
We are very happy with Emeritus at Gainesville. The staff is friendly, caring, and always ready to help. Mom says it feels like she's being "spoiled." She loves joining in on many activities and enjoys the weekly outings. We feel confident that she is safe and happy now, so we don’t worry about her. We’re grateful for her support and care during our decision-making. She was really helpful, and I highly recommend her.

I think the staff at Emeritus in Gainesville, Florida is excellent. However, I do find their prices to be too high. While I appreciate the top-quality care my grandmother receives, it shouldn't drain savings so rapidly.

"Mixed Experience at Emeritus Assisted Living Facility"
Emeritus was really clean and tidy. The people working there were nice and did their job well. But, the staff changed a lot while my mom stayed there, which was kind of unsettling. Even though my mom didn't join in on many activities, there seemed to be plenty available. The folks in the Physical Rehab department were awesome. Mom thought the food was just okay. She did feel safe there, though.

"Not a Skilled Nursing Facility"
The most important thing to know is that this place isn’t a skilled nursing facility. So, if the person you’re caring for has diabetes or another condition, they might not be the best fit. I told them upfront that my loved one was diabetic, and they assured me they could handle it. But they aren’t licensed to check blood sugar or manage medications, so I had to move my loved one to a different place.

"A Nice Place, Room Dilemma"
It's a nice place, and I believe Mom would be really happy there. But they don't have the room she needs. They offered me a bigger room at a discount for 3 months. If the right room isn't available by then, I'd have to pay full rent for the larger room. I'm considering putting a deposit on the smaller original room, but who knows when it'll be free.

"Expensive Facility with Spacious Rooms, May Stage Operations for Visitors"
The accommodations were large and pleasing. The entire place looked lovely from the inside and out, but they were charging a lot. When I was brought to the secure area, it seemed like they removed the residents and were only working because of my presence.
