"New Assisted Living Director Brings Positive Change"
This place is for assisted living. I just need my meds, help with showers, and meals. The activities are limited, but that's okay. I hoped for something more exciting than bingo. Our new director is awesome. You should meet her for a different perspective.

"Assisted Living Review: Great Staff, Room for Improvement"
The staff here is really nice, but sometimes there aren't enough of them. Twice, I had to call the big bosses because the head nurse was not doing well. Now, the place is run by OPAL. It's small and cute, with good food and friendly folks. However, it's tough to keep the same workers around. They also struggle to find someone to clean consistently.

"Needs Improvement: Overcharged, Slow Service, Cleaning Issues"
The cleaning team needs to step up. The room of the person I care about doesn’t get cleaned like it should, and they’re short on staff. It seems like not enough people working here really take their job to heart. They keep asking us to pay for things they didn’t even do, and when we ask for our money back, we don’t get an answer. So far, we’ve paid about $3,000 more than what’s fair. The meals are starting to get a bit better, but we’ve had some that were way too small. When we hit the help button, nobody comes quickly. My family member had to wait two hours once. They’re supposed to help with showers twice a week, but they’ve skipped it a few times. They’re changing the company, so maybe things will get better. But right now, I wouldn’t recommend this place. If things don’t change a lot, we’ll start looking somewhere else.

"New Housekeeper Turns Opal Around"
Our family has been at this place for ages, back when it was still called Brookdale, but now it’s Opal. Honestly, it’s been struggling. The place wasn’t clean, and the staff seemed more interested in their phones than the folks living here. It felt like they were just here for the money. The alarms were always going off, and there didn’t seem to be anyone in charge. It was pretty chaotic! The building smells fresh, and our loved one’s room is spotless. We met the new housekeeper, and she’s incredible! She’s friendly, acts like a true pro, and is super sweet. Most importantly, she’s really patient and kind with our mom and all the other people here. It’s clear she puts her heart into making sure everyone has a clean and comfy place to live. She works super hard every day to keep the residents smiling. We come by often and it’s easy to see the special connection she has with everyone. There’s this real sense of love and respect between them. The folks here just love her, and she loves them right back. Our family is super thankful for her. Opal would be so much better if they had more people like her around.

"Improving, but Concerns Persist: Brookdale's Transition Reviewed"
Brookdale Hermitage is seeing improvements with a new manager. Ownership change in 2024 expected. However, previous experiences were troubling. Cook's sudden departure led to pizza nights due to dinner shortages. Housekeeping and nursing staff often pulled for cooking, leading to staff shortages. Staff turnover was high, with sudden vacations and no return. Transportation issues for doctor appointments arose. Health decline coincided with service problems. Medication administration inconsistencies noted. Cleanliness issues and odors in rooms observed. Bed sore developed. Hospice reported lack of nursing assistants. Limited assistance from Brookdale staff. New management aims for improvement.
