"Overpriced and Unmotivated Staff in Assisted Living Facility"

This place costs too much for what you get. The workers they send are slow, lazy, and seem like they don't even care about their job.

"A Welcoming Place with Some Flaws"

They promised new carpets for years, but the old ones are dreadful. Meals are included, but the timing is tricky, and the food is just okay. Friendly staff and lovely grounds make it a safe place for Mom. She enjoys the activities and feels welcomed.

"Mixed Feelings: Recommend Elison of Pinecrest Despite Issues"

I live at Elison of Pinecrest. Cleaning isn't good. Move-in was good. Just be cautious about their sales pitch. Food is good but cold. They should switch back to serving on plates. Overall, I'd suggest this place to others. Showers are old tubs, not very safe.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Friendly Staff, Ongoing Renovations, Room for Improvement"

This place has friendly staff who are good with independent care. The housekeeping isn’t always consistent, but public areas are well-kept. They're renovating the whole facility - new paint, carpet, and lobby furnishings. Families can visit whenever and stay overnight. Communication with families is good, and moving in is easy with excellent moving companies. Meals are average, mostly buffet style, but you should get there early. Upper management needs to be more hands-on with dining services and training. Overall, it's a good value for the money, but there's still room for improvement.

"Assisted Living Facility Good Overall, Evaluation Process Needs Improvement"

The facility is great, but it seemed like they weren't thorough in assessing new residents, especially for memory care.

"Assisted Living Facility Deteriorates, Staff Extremely Rude"

My mom's been here 7 years and it's only gotten worse. The conditions and benefits drop every year. There's never-ending construction and the noise is too much. When I visited from out of town, there was construction right outside at 8am! This has been the same deal for years now. Every time I ask the staff about it, they just tell me what I want to hear and don't do anything about it. Things got really bad today. I spoke with who clearly doesn't like my mom. She was so mean I had to cut off our talk and leave her office. I went back to see if (the director) was there. As I got there, I heard telling her coworker that she knew I was the daughter of (explicative) and knew I was going to complain about the constant renovation noise. She said it all while I was literally standing outside her office. Totally unbelievable!

"Nice but outdated facility led us to choose another"

We had a good tour at Elison of Pinecrest. The facility was nice, but a bit outdated. That's why we chose a different place.

The place is nice, food's great, but it's pricey.

"A Friendly, Yet Unfit Place For Mom's Assisted Living"

I checked out this place and the workers were friendly and answered all my stuff. The building's really tall, but it felt weird how everyone just chillaxed out front like there was nowhere else to do so. They didn't have a full-time person at the main desk, which I think matters. Not quite right for my mom.

"Caring staff, great activities, and beautiful community!"

The staff is thoughtful, friendly, and caring. They do a great job encouraging my mom to join the many activities they offer. The second and third floors are for assisted living, while the first is for memory care. She loves Sunday services, playing bingo, and making new friends. The food is good, with plenty of choices and generous portions. The community is beautiful inside and out. I would definitely recommend it.

"All Bumps, No Smooth Sailing in Assisted Living Facility"

Shaky Start to Assisted Living: Underwhelming Service & Extra Expenses" Moving into this assisted living facility was quite tough. I'd recommend doing a thorough walk through before settling in, and even then, be prepared for a few difficulties. It's essential to secure and utilize your allotted 25 hours of assistance provided in the $2,600 move-in fee. If not, you may find the staff unavailable when you need them most. It's also been noted that the services provided vary between individuals. Our family had to purchase our own handheld shower head, for instance, while another resident had one provided for them. Carefully review and obtain the move-in packet well in advance to understand what's included. A word of caution: if you want to avoid damaged items, it's advised to bypass the services of Price Rite for moving. Our experience involved broken glass, scratched furniture, and precious pictures ruined. They seem to care little for their clients - they left behind items, used a dirty truck, and even dumped lawn debris on our premises upon arrival.

"Felt Right from the Start"

I knew right away this was the place for my mom. The staff greeted us with enthusiasm and were super friendly. All the residents seemed lively, talking and laughing together. I'm really glad my mom can afford this place. She wasn't happy about leaving her home, but I soon saw her enjoying herself. Honestly, I would have loved living here in my twenties or thirties! I've also had dinner with her a few times and the food is good. Most importantly, the staff takes great care of her and is very attentive.

"Was Able To Keep Mom and Dad Together"

When we were looking for options, we needed a community that could accommodate both my in-laws. One needed memory care, and the other required assisted living. This community helped us with that. Both sides are doing well. The staff keeps residents busy with activities, and they've made friends. The friendly staff interacts with everyone. The community is very clean, and housekeeping does an excellent job. My mother-in-law's allergies have improved since she moved here, thanks to weekly apartment cleaning. They both enjoy the food.

"Great care and happy in-laws!"

I was very happy with the help I got finding a home for my in-laws. The care they receive is great. My mother-in-law has made new friends and enjoys the activities. My father-in-law is in Clare Bridge. At first, he wanted to go home, but the staff did an excellent job helping him adjust. Now, he also enjoys the activities and loves seeing [] every day.

"Memory care area not our top pick, but friendly atmosphere."

This place seemed nice when we visited. The person who showed us around was nice. It's a big place and they have some fun things to do and nice stuff. We just liked the memory care part at the place we picked a bit more.

"Nice Place with Friendly Staff"

We had a good time touring this place. It's really nice, with pretty furniture and a welcoming vibe. The staff were nice and told us lots of helpful stuff. The only thing is the layout wasn't exactly what we wanted, but overall it's what we expected for a community.

"Cozy Assisted Living with Excellent Amenities"

My parents just moved in. They're getting comfy. Place's nice! Close to transport. They haven't done much yet, but food's great!

"Good Visit, but Not Right for Our Family"

I checked out this place for my family who require some extra care. The visit was good, but the place felt a bit crowded for our taste. The surroundings were pleasant, and the workers were nice. They treated my family and me really well, and our visit went smoothly. There were many things we had to consider while choosing a place for my family. Even though we had a good visit, in the end, this just wasn't the place for us.

3.5/5.00 Published 7 years ago

"Decent Community with Room for Improvement"

My mom's liking her time here. It's a nice place, and I'm okay with her being here. I haven't talked much with the staff, but the security guys I met were nice. They're fixing something that's causing a stink around. The room could be nicer. But she's in a safe, good place, and I'd suggest it.

4/5.00 Published 7 years ago

"Nice community!"

I visited this community to explore future living options for myself. The staff were friendly and professional during my tour, taking their time to answer my questions. While I'm considering this place for the next year, I'm not quite ready to make the move yet.

"Okay Community, But Didn't Feel Right for Mom"

Overall, this was a decent community. The place was mostly clean and orderly, but some parts seemed a bit old-fashioned. The employees were really kind and accommodating to us. However, it just didn't seem like the right fit for my mom.

"Great Staff and Gorgeous Place"

The staff is doing great with my mom. I’m so happy with how they treat her. The food is good sometimes. Mom enjoys the bridge games and outings they offer. This is a beautiful community.

"Highly recommend this lively and beautiful community"

They have all kinds of activities you can think of. There’s happy hour with music and entertainment. When I first walked in, it felt like a lively place. The staff is cheerful, helpful, and always on top of things. The community has many floors. The food is great, with a bistro and lots of choices. The place looks like a cruise ship docked at port. It’s really pretty with beautiful grounds. Mom’s apartment is nice and has a balcony.

"Comfortable Living!"

Since my parents moved into this community, things have been going well. The place is clean, organized, and there's a friendly lady who takes my mother on walks. The only issue they've mentioned is the breakfast—there's no fresh fruit, and sometimes it runs out before my parents get there. Overall, though, they're adjusting to the change.

"Spacious Apartments with Excellent Staff!"

My family member loved their spacious apartment with convenient amenities. The meals and activities were satisfying, and the staff welcomed suggestions and changes.

4/5.00 Published 8 years ago

"Improvement needed in administration!"

The assisted living community has a great location, and all the amenities they offer are wonderful. During our tour, the administration provided us with a detailed list of pricing and the cost of rent. However, the staff was not honest about the actual price we would be paying. When we set a move-in date, it turned out to be a completely different amount. Unfortunately, due to this situation, I decided not to move my loved one into this facility.

"Decent Visit, Friendly Staff, Prices a Bit High"

My visit to this place was pretty good. The facility was very neat and looked after well. The workers I met were super nice and always ready to help. They made sure to answer everything I asked, which made it a nice visit. The only issue was that the costs were a bit too much for what I can pay. Apart from that, the whole tour was solid.

3/5.00 Published 8 years ago

"Okay, but small rooms and poor food"

The place was alright, but the room was a bit tight and the laundry room was a bit of a walk. There was no microwave and the meals weren't tasty.

"Mixed feelings about Maplewood Assisted Living!"

The place had lots of cool stuff for old folks. It was super clean and neat. The people showing us around were really nice and friendly. But, the rooms were kinda cramped; we wanted more room.

"Helpful Staff and Lovely Grounds"

Everyone was really helpful. I had meals in the dining room, and the food tasted good. Some people complained, and I noticed that the laundry area wasn’t well kept. The grounds are beautiful, and overall, it’s a nice place. However, housekeeping needs improvement.

"Responsive and Helpful Staff"

Everyone is quick to respond and very helpful.

"Outstanding Service"

The staff will go above and beyond to assist you in every way. I applied at several "Brookdale" homes but had problems with interviews due to the distance. Brookdale Pinecrest sent nurses from a local sister facility to interview. Because they did this, the other issues were resolved. You can tell they truly care about their job.

"Caring Staff, Clean Facility: Great Experience at Brookdale Pinecrest"

We had a really good time at Brookdale Pinecrest! The lady who helped us, Debra, was kind and told us everything we needed to know. The place is clean and nice, and they take good care of our family member.

"Great Place but Some Miscommunication"

The only problem we had was they didn’t tell us my mom couldn’t have her scooter there. She was really disappointed. They should be clearer about things in the future. Overall, it’s a great place!

"Mom loves the Ritz-like Brookdale with top-notch treatment!"

A Place for Mom advisers were amazing! They understood that I didn't know where to start finding a place for my mom. My mother was a school teacher for 30 years—very outspoken and opinionated. I was worried she wouldn’t be happy. But she loves the Brookdale property A Place for Mom helped me find. We're from the South, and this place feels like the Ritz! She’s definitely being treated well. When people say they're sorry my mom is in assisted living, it's funny. My friends and I look forward to being treated this well one day, with happy hours, dancing, drivers, and more. My mom loves it! xoxo!

"Great place, but clearer communication needed."

My only issue was they didn’t clearly say my mom couldn't have her scooter there. She was really disappointed. They should be more open about things in the future. Overall, it is a great place.

"Great place but unclear about scooter rules"

The only issue I had was that they didn’t make it clear that my mom couldn’t have her scooter there. She was really disappointed. They should be more upfront about these things in the future. Overall, it’s a great place.

"Nice looking place, friendly staff"

This is a really nice place! We toured this community while searching for options for a loved one, and the apartments were attractive and clean. The staff was super friendly, too. If you're looking in the area, it's definitely worth checking out!

"Assisted Living: Nice but Pricey; Food Great, Laundry Concerns"

They're okay. But they cost a lot. The place is nice. It's worth it, but expensive. The food is really good. But there were problems with laundry. Parking's always enough.

"Mom’s Happiest She’s Ever Been!"

I took care of my mom at home for years, but it became clear she needed more in life. After our family did some research, we found Pinecrest Place to be the perfect fit. The staff is competent, compassionate, and very friendly. Now, my mom calls Pinecrest Place her home and even said, "I'm the happiest I've ever been." Our family was pleasantly surprised at how easily she adjusted, especially since she never used to be social, and now she joins in all the activities! As a healthcare professional for over 30 years, I’m very satisfied with the care she gets. Plus, it’s convenient that medical staff visit regularly. My mom is always well-groomed, well-fed, and has made great friends. I highly recommend Pinecrest Place for anyone looking for a safe, clean, and friendly environment for their loved ones.

"Pinecrest Transportation Service Is Excellent and Reliable!"

You need a ride? You’ve come to the right place! Pinecrest Transportation service is fantastic! The coordinator, Sharon Walker, is super capable, caring, and does her best to help everyone. Her computer skills keep everything running smoothly. They have four cars, a bus, and nine drivers ready to take you anywhere in Pinellas County. If you have an emergency and didn’t give Sharon a 48-hour notice, she will still try to help if she can. Need a ride to Temple on Saturday? No problem! On Sunday, they can take you to any of twelve local churches. Pinecrest also has special events throughout the year like ball games, dinner shows, and restaurant trips. If you want to go to any of these events, the transportation department is ready to assist you. They also run a bus four times a week to Publix and other local places like the library and Walmart. Let’s not forget the nine wonderful drivers who will take you to your destination. As a resident for three and a half years, I’ve had the pleasure of riding with all of them at different times. They are careful, thoughtful, and really care about all of us seniors. So, I’m always happy to go along for the ride! Morton... Hometown: New York City!

I think this place is really good, and we are happy with our choice! I have no complaints—it's just great! I picked this place mainly because it looked so nice! The staff is very professional, and everything is super clean and smells good. We tried the food, and it was excellent. Overall, we are very pleased!

"Cheerful atmosphere and attentive staff make it special!"

When we decided to move, my husband and I visited eight different communities, including Pinecrest Place, where my father lived about 20 years ago. We were impressed with the building and room sizes, but more importantly, the cheerful atmosphere in the public areas. Thanks to the marketing staff, moving in was easy. There are many physical, mental, and recreational activities, including parties and special celebrations, giving residents plenty of chances to meet each other. The staff is attentive and always ready to help. Irma

"Advance Planning for Peace of Mind"

We moved to Pinecrest Place. After living in 12 homes during our nearly 70 years of marriage, we're still adjusting to a new way of life. We had planned to spend our later years at home, but my wife and I both had strokes. We knew we needed to plan for the future to avoid burdening our family with tough decisions. After looking at many places in St. Petersburg and Tampa, we chose Pinecrest. The staff, starting with the Executive Director, are amazing and cater to the needs of the residents.

"Pinecrest Place: A Loving, Supportive Retirement Community You’ll Love"

Four years ago, my husband and I decided to sell our house and move to Pinecrest Place. It was definitely the right choice, maybe even overdue. I haven’t regretted a single day since we made the move. From the start, we found the people here—both residents and staff—to be friendly, caring, and like a big family. We knew we’d be happy spending our remaining years here. Their love and support only grew stronger during my husband’s illness and his final days, and it’s still here today. Pinecrest offers a wide range of activities, from projects and entertainment to support groups and transportation. There are so many things to do, you could fill up your whole day with fun and meaningful experiences. Pinecrest really is everything you’d hope for in a retirement community. I couldn’t be happier.

"Pinecrest Place is Alive, I invite you to join us!"

I chose Pinecrest Place because I needed a safe and supportive environment. I visited about 12-15 facilities in different areas. Pinecrest Place stood out because it felt truly alive! The residents were friendly, active, and genuine. Exercise classes were led by a qualified instructor, not just sitting in chairs. The young people working in the dining area were so helpful that I gained a new respect for teenagers. The staff treated residents like family, not just with a quick "hi" or "hello." After a year and a half here, I’m sure I made the best choice. I invite you to become a neighbor!

"A Warm and Welcoming Place to Call Home"

After my husband died, I tried to take care of our house by myself, but things started to break that I couldn’t fix. I felt overwhelmed and knew I had to find somewhere else to live. We had lived in Largo for over 50 years, so I wanted to stay local. I searched for months without any luck. Then I started looking into independent living facilities. None impressed me until I walked into Pinecrest Place. The big lobby was bright and cheerful, with people walking around or chatting. There was even soft piano music playing. It looked like a friendly, enjoyable place to live. I decided to move here and got my new apartment in December. I’ve made many friends and really enjoy it here. The lobby and dining room are decorated for every holiday and occasion, and the staff are friendly and very helpful.

"Living a life of heaven on earth"

As we get older, it's really hard to make changes. We watch the world go by. Moving was tough, but my wife's bad eyesight meant we needed help. That's when we found Pinecrest Place, and it changed our lives. The care here has brought us comfort. Mary often says she's living a life of heaven on earth now. Her time at Pinecrest is really enjoyable. I agree too!

"A Lifeline for My Wife's Alzheimer's and a New Home for Me"

I’ve been very thankful for my time at Pinecrest Place. When I first found Pinecrest, I really needed help for my wife who had Alzheimer's disease. The staff there was incredibly helpful and understanding. Because of their support, in January 2010, I moved us both in my wife to "Memory Care" and myself to "Independent Living. Even though my wife has passed away and I have no family nearby, I chose to stay at Pinecrest. The staff here is very caring, and many have become close friends. The young servers feel like family and help keep me feeling young! With such great people and a wonderful place, I can’t find anything to dislike. For me, it’s the people, not just the place, that matters most.

"Feeling Blessed by Friends and Support at Pinecrest Place"

My husband and I moved into Pinecrest Place 3 years ago. We picked Pinecrest because it had the warmest welcome of all the places we visited. A big plus was that everything we needed was in one building, not scattered like at some other places. We quickly made many new friends and joined various activities. After 18 months, my dear husband passed away. It was a tough time for me, but the friends I made here surrounded me with comfort and support. We all look out for each other, and they have made it easier to handle my loss. I feel so blessed to have these friends, and moving here has been a true blessing.

"Our Home for 3 Years and Counting"

Helen and I have been talking about how lucky we are to live at Pinecrest for over 3 years. The first time we walked into the lobby, we were impressed by how big and beautiful it was, along with the great dining room next to it. We’ve lived in two other independent places before, but we’ve finally found our home here. Every worker is friendly, helpful, and cheerful, from the management to the wonderful young people in the dining room. The food is always great, with lots of choices and high quality. Diana, who runs the activities, always has something fun planned, and we also love the heated swimming pool. If you hear anyone hesitant about living at Pinecrest, we can honestly say this place is fantastic!

"Happy with Pinecrest Place—Great staff and facilities!"

At first, my wife and I looked for retirement homes in Citrus County where we lived. We needed a place that offered all levels of care, so we wouldn't have to move if our needs changed. We expanded our search to other counties and saw an ad for Pinecrest Place. We looked it up online and scheduled a visit. After a few visits, we stayed for a free 2-night stay to really check it out. We were impressed with the friendly staff, fun activities, great facilities, and tasty food. Over 2 years ago, we signed a contract, moved in, and haven't looked back. The staff is very polite, patient, skilled, and caring. We are really happy we chose Pinecrest Place.

The main nurse who checked everything sure knew her stuff! Of all the nurses, she was the one who stood out. The upper level didn't really excite me though. It seemed kinda gloomy and grimy. They also had a therapy dog, but it stayed in the boss's office inside a crate.

My mom and I checked out six different places. Even though my mom decided not to choose Pinecrest Place, we were both really happy with it. The place is beautifully updated, and the staff is very friendly. An extra perk they offered was driving my mom to and from my house, which was a nice bonus. Although we picked another option, Pinecrest Place is still top-notch.
