"Neglectful and Dirty Senior Living Facility Needs Closure"

This facility is absolutely unacceptable. It's dirty, and clearly, they do not treat the people living there well. There aren't even names and numbers on the doors. Plus, it's so bad that you see the same residents in the same clothes day in and day out! This place seriously needs to be closed for good...

"Clueless Staff and Unbearable Conditions in Assisted Living Facility"

The staff on duty here seem to really lack understanding. The whole place has a bad smell, like uncared for baby diapers. My family member is lonely, unhappy, and just plain mixed-up about his living situation. This is the poorest example of an assisted living place I've seen - they just want your money without really taking care of your elderly parent. If you try to ask questions, they respond defensively, which only increases your feeling of helplessness about the choice you made for your loved one. The people in charge, who are supposed to know what they're doing, can't seem to fix any of the big problems within the facility, but even worse, they don't even seem aware of them. I can't wait to move him out of here.

"Terrible Care and Administration at Assisted Living Facility"

What a nightmare! My loved one is at this facility and they're just not treating her right. The people running the place are honestly the worst. They've never worked in this kind of environment before and it clearly shows because they just don't care! The Administrator is always promising things will get better, but it's just not true. And the Business Office Manager? She actually caused a man to get a skin tear by pushing him into a wall! The condition of the residents is just wrong. They're often in dirty clothes that stink of urine and poop. Their hair is oily and tangled. Even worse, some haven't been able to shower for a whole month because of water problems at the facility. The maintenance team is no better - they're utterly useless! Housekeeping? A complete joke! The food they serve is appalling. They often just get ready-made food from places like Publix or Pizza Hut, which is not nutritious for people their age. Their meals are so meager, most of the residents go to bed hungry and have lost a lot of weight. It's heartbreaking to see. If you try to complain to the higher-ups like the Operations Manager, good luck! The Administrator and the Operations Manager only care about the huge bonuses they get every quarter!

"Disappointing visit to messy, unprofessional assisted living facility"

Our visit to this assisted living facility was pretty disappointing. It didn't seem tidy or professional. The overall vibe of the place didn't appeal to us due to the people staying there. The moment we entered, we felt they weren't prepared for us and seemed like they didn't have enough employees. The place was a mess with clothes in the hallways and food everywhere. Plus, the rooms were tiny. We didn't want to stay there any longer than we had to. .

" "Unsuitable Facility with Unclean Spaces and Poorly Cared for Residents""

I checked out this assisted living facility for my mom yesterday. Right away, there was a spot for newcomers to sign in and get their temperature checked, but no one did that for me. The people running the place were polite, but the facility was far from appealing. It was grimy, gloomy, and looked like it hadn't seen cleanliness or fresh paint in years. The rooms for residents, as well as the shared spaces, were terrible, seemingly untouched by cleaning tools or disinfectants for ages. The furniture was aged - which is not typically a bad thing - but these were filthy and visibly worn out. The rooms hardly seemed ideal for people with memory issues or any other challenges. Both furniture and draperies were unclean and damaged, with parts like drawer knobs missing. Spaces for residents to relax or partake in activities were inconveniently located in the corridors. The facility was badly lit, lacking enough working lights for residents. I was repulsed as soon as I stepped in! The residents didn't appear well nurtured either; they looked unkempt. Honestly, I can't tell what kind of care is provided here.

"Mixed Feelings on Assisted Living Staff and Management"

Cabot Reserve welcomes you with a nice entrance. Some workers are really kind and know how to make the residents feel good. But, there are a few who are young, don’t work hard, and just aren’t cut out for this place. The pay isn’t great, and that’s always an issue. When money is tight, you end up with two kinds of people: those who love their job and are proud of what they do, and those who are just there for the money, don’t really care, and can’t see the real person when they look at someone with disabilities. It’s been two whole years since we had a real person in charge of fun activities. They keep saying things will change, but nothing’s gotten better.

"Poor Service and Slow Response at Assisted Living Facility"

This place simply lacks in delivering good customer service. They are slow in responding and carrying out their duties. If they aren't full of residents, they've only got themselves to blame.

"Great Value with Some Staff and Temperature Issues"

This place is a great deal. They offer semi-private rooms at a good price. There’s often outside entertainment, lots of activities, and a beautiful campus with a golf course view. The outdoor area is nice, and the food is okay healthy but a bit heavy on carbs. However, there's a lot of staff turnover, which isn’t great for the residents. Three residents mentioned that the higher-ups aren’t very friendly and can be rude, but I haven’t seen this myself. One issue is that it's often too cold inside, so residents wear jackets all the time. Despite this, my relative is happy and says, “There is nothing to complain about.”

"Awful Experience"

My 98-year-old mom lived at the Windsor of Lakewood Ranch for 3 years, alongside her boyfriend of 25 years. Unfortunately, she got pneumonia and ended up in the hospital. The Windsor wouldn’t take her back without rehab, so we spent six weeks at another new place. Despite being evaluated twice, she was rejected both times. The new management, including the executive director and nurse, felt cold and uncaring. Thankfully, the Cabot Reserve welcomed her warmly, and she’s receiving good care. Her 95-year-old boyfriend is lonely but manages to visit and hold hands with his daughter. Overall, an awful experience.

Cabot Reserve is an older place, but it's super clean and well-maintained. The staff is really friendly, and Mom loves the food.
