"Assisted Living Review: Mixed Feelings About Attention to Residents"

The person who talked to us was really nice and explained everything we would get, including a room with furniture. It seemed like a good choice. But, I wish they paid more attention to my family member and that the staff knew what they needed better.

"Disappointing Service Changes at Assisted Living Facility"

I don't think I'd suggest this place to anyone else. Lately, the staff's attitudes have shifted a lot. It's been tricky to get in touch with them or hear back when we call.

"Flexible Care and Helpful Staff"

We picked Freedom Village because they offer all types of care: independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, rehab, memory care, and hospice. This is great because your loved one doesn't have to move if they need more care. My dad didn't like his room's location, so they let him move and helped set up his new room, which was nice. The administration is not good at communication and is slow to respond to messages I've left. Overall, I would recommend it to others looking.

"Lack of Communication and Care at Assisted Living Facility"

My family member began rehabilitation services at this facility. It took us several days before we were able to arrange a meeting with a social worker to understand things better. One of the nurses seemed annoyed any time we had questions, often rolling her eyes as if bothered by our presence. However, the head nurse was quite helpful. Overall, there was a lack of communication and no clear plan for care.

"Slow response time, lack of care - not recommended."

My mom stays here. If you need help fast, it takes around 35 minutes. When we asked why, they said it's normal. When hospice came to put an air mattress on her bed, they left the call light button on the nightstand and forgot to give it to my mom. She got stuck in her pillow and couldn't call for help. I don't suggest this place.

"Bradenton Facility Causes Health Problems: Bad Food and Bugs"

During my brief 4-month stay at Freedom Village in Bradenton, I ran into several issues that caused me to find a new assisted living home. Two major issues stick out: 1. My stomach didn't agree with the food they served. They didn't provide enough fresh fruits or vegetables, leading to stomach issues. Now, I have to see a gastroenterologist. 2. I found spider bites all over my body because they didn't clean my room well or often. When I complained about the bites I got at night, the staff at Freedom Village didn't take me seriously. I had to call an exterminator at my own cost to find where the spiders were coming from. The exterminator found lots of spiders and webs. Now, I'm also seeing a dermatologist because of this.

"A Great Place to Retire"

We checked out six places around Sarasota/Bradenton. We moved here 10 months ago, and it's been even better than we hoped. We picked one of the Villas with beautiful trees and landscaping. We love the service, staff, and friendly neighbors. The Life Care guarantee made us choose this place. Now, we don’t worry about money.

"Welcoming Assisted Living with Abundant Activities and Attractive Rooms"

Freedom Village made us happy with its cozy feel, lots of fun things to do, and nice rooms. It's perfect for my mom because it lets her be independent but also has care if she needs it later. I'd give it 4 and a half stars if I could. The only small problem is that it's in an industrial area, not the prettiest spot. But once you're inside, it's really nice.

"My father is well cared for."

We are really happy with the care at this community. The staff is great and very caring. We’re glad he enjoys the meals and the variety. They encourage him to join in with the other residents. We would recommend taking a tour of this nice place to other families.

"Great support for families needing care!"

We liked this service, and the staff was really nice. They helped us get a caregiver to meet our needs. The caregiver was willing to help but couldn’t always come at the right times. We recommend this service for families.

"Great place, but too far for parents to visit often!"

This community was really nice. The folks were super friendly and helpful. Everything was tidy and clean. We enjoyed it all except for one thing - it's just too far away for my parents to live closer to us.

"A Wonderful Place for Loved Ones!"

The community is beautiful, and the staff is super friendly. I really appreciated that they were able to let my loved ones stay in the same room, which made the change easier for everyone. There are plenty of activities that my loved ones enjoy. They especially love the lectures and singing events. The meals are fantastic with lots of choices, and I was really impressed by the food. My loved ones have become social butterflies!

"Great for Aging in Place, But Some Annoying Issues"

This place had exactly what I was looking for. I really wanted to age in place, and they offered the whole package. I didn't know there was a buy-in fee until I arrived. The biggest thing I don't like is when they ring the doorbell, run off, and leave the food on the floor.

"Misleading Care Facility Struggling with Poor Staffing & Practices"

The staffing at this assisted living and memory care facility is truly disappointing. Residents, especially those in memory care, are not receiving proper care. This is due to the insufficient number of aides and nurses present. The Clare Bridge Program promised in the brochure is nonexistent upon arrival. A sorrowful reality becomes evident as you see residents merely idling around with aides, who are also seemingly unoccupied, engaging in loud, personal conversations. This scenario is far from what they depict during tours and in marketing materials. Before committing substantial amount of resources, it is vital to seriously scrutinize the facility. Do not fall for the deceitful portrayal of what is apparently provided. It is also noteworthy to mention the disruptive staff who aren't disciplined appropriately, possibly due to the fear of being labeled as racist. Staff retention is in a critical condition with few lasting longer and even fewer applications coming in.

"Very up-to-date and modern!"

The building I’m moving into seemed clean and up-to-date, but I found out they are renovating it to keep it even more modern.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"

This place has good things, but needs some changes. Staff should push residents to join activities they like. Many residents feel bored or want to go home. Staff should be more cheerful and helpful. They need to work faster and think about how they would want to be treated when they're old.

"Beautiful, but too big for elderly parents. Smaller is better."

This place was really pretty. It felt like being at a fancy resort, but that's exactly why it wouldn't be good for my mom and dad. They prefer places that aren't so big.

"Feels Like a Cruise!"

We are so happy to be here! After researching, we found this place had so much to offer and was more affordable. We love it! The food is great, and we highly recommend moving here. We wish we did it earlier. It doesn't feel like a retirement place—it feels like living in a condo or a hotel, with no cooking or cleaning. They change the linens and do the laundry. Everyone is nice and friendly. We've met many people and there are activities from morning to night. There are exercises, entertainment, and trips. When our kids visit, they say it's like a cruise or Disneyland!

"Buy-In Community"

We went to check out this place, but my mother-in-law never actually stayed here, so I don't know too much about it. It seemed nice, but the cost to get in was really high.

"Beautiful property, nice rooms, good price incentives."

The property has lovely rooms at an affordable cost. I'm considering if the Life care program is worth it. There's a great price incentive for studio and 1-bedroom units, which include a washer, dryer, and full kitchen.
