"Mixed feelings about assisted living: Staff okay, issues with comfort and affordability."

The staff doesn't do enough or go out of their way. Apartments are a good size, but the air conditioning sometimes doesn't work well. Prices keep rising; we couldn't afford the last increase.

"Memory Care Facility Falls Short in Communication and Accessibility"

Regarding the memory care section, the staff is friendly and patient, aiming for a positive experience. However, during our interview, we received mostly incorrect information, which caused confusion since we clearly stated our need for memory care. Unfortunately, there's no proper orientation process, and communication lacks clarity regarding necessary arrangements like doctor visits or grooming services. The system for accessing the memory care floor is frustrating, requiring assistance for elevator use, which can be time-consuming and inconvenient. Overall, unless constrained by Medicaid or other circumstances, I wouldn't recommend this place.

"Poor Communication and Rudeness at Grand Villa in Deerfield Beach"

If you're thinking about moving a loved one to Grand Villa in Deerfield Beach, I'd advise against it. I had been planning to move my mom there since it's close to my home and she needs memory care, which she currently receives in Delray. But the sales representative, after first contact, didn't give me any updates except for a potential move-in date. Following my mom's evaluation, I had to chase up the nursing director a few times. Finally, I received a call late on a Friday from the Executive Director and Nursing Director, informing me that my mom would be classified as level 3 care, despite being a level 1 or 2 at other places. I asked for an email explaining the costs, but I was only contacted by a marketing person who wanted my email. I called back the facility several times, and sent a text with my correct email to the nurse director. I never heard back from them. The lack of response continued not just on Friday, but also on Saturday and then on Monday. In desperation, I called the corporate office and had a horrible conversation with a rude operations director. The entire process was completely unprofessional.

"Mixed Experience at Small Assisted Living, Recommended Despite Shortcomings"

The place is small, which suited my mom well. Staff stays long-term. Food could be healthier. No family meals allowed. Activities repetitive with few new options. Recommended to friends; one is moving in soon.
