"Assisted Living Gem: Harborside Review"
I recommend Harborside. My mom quickly made friends. All staff are attentive and friendly. Nurses do regular checkups and call if there's a problem. Mom's clothes are washed, neatly folded or hung. Housekeeping is weekly, with extra cleanup on request. Plenty of food, nicely presented. They offer scenic trips, store visits, library trips, and doctor visits. They celebrate all holidays and have a great crafts room; everyone enjoys bingo. Moving in was easy. Harborside isn't new, but it's well maintained. My mom's world has expanded since moving to Harborside at Melbourne.

"Mixed Experience at HarborSide Assisted Living"
The HarborSide team checked my wife at another place and thought she’d fit in their Memory Care unit. They adjusted her meds to improve her mobility. But when we moved her, things didn’t get better. She stayed in bed the whole time until she passed away. Some HarborSide staff even said it wasn’t a good fit. Communicating with them was tough, and we couldn’t figure out who the lead nurse was. Staffing was also a challenge due to no-shows.

"Assisted Living Review"
Feels like home here. The staff is super friendly and genuinely cares about the residents. Breakfast is okay, but it could use a few more options. Lunch is decent, but I'd like more choices. Unfortunately, dinner falls short—it's mostly plain sandwiches or a small salad. I wish they had better desserts and more variety in the meals. It'd be great if we could get snacks throughout the day and evening. Also, the elevators need more frequent cleaning—buttons, rails, and doors. A little Pine Sol or Fabuloso would help. And a quick vacuum by the elevator doors would be nice! Oh, and they should really fix up the pool.

"Mixed Experience with Harborside Assisted Living Facility"
Harborside is going through changes with new management and some staff shortages. The medical care is good, but there aren't enough staff, especially on the midnight shift. Other shifts are better. It's difficult to give a clear rating because of this. Stay connected with your family member and involved with the staff. Most of the staff is really good. The medical professionals linked with the facility are proactive.

"Mixed Feelings About Meal Portions and Quality at Assisted Living"
My dad often talks about how little food he gets and how unappealing it is. Since I can't join him for meals, I'm not sure if he's right. No place is perfect, but I expected better.

"Friendly Staff, But Lacks Cozy Feel"
I visited the Grand Villa of Melbourne and the team there was super nice. But, I wasn’t totally wowed because they were fixing up some areas, like the swimming pool and stuff. It looked like a bunch of folks were just hanging out, and it didn’t seem like the cozy kind of place where I’d want my mom to live. It’s not that anything was bad, but I trust my gut feelings, and they were telling me this wasn’t it. Since it used to be a hotel, it still kinda feels like one. It was a busy spot with lots of people just sitting around, and I didn’t really see any fun group stuff happening.

"Clean, excellent care, and great memory care activities."
The Grand Villa community is very clean. The staff is excellent, and the care for residents is top-notch. The meals and dining experience are also great. For memory care, the activities are fantastic, with music, games, and staff encouraging residents to join in. We’ve already recommended this place and will keep doing so based on our experience.

"Assisted Living Facility Lacks Activities and Social Spaces"
Our family visited the assisted living place, and our loved one liked the room with a river view. However, we didn't see much happening. Residents weren't interacting much, and there weren't many places for them to hang out together.
