"Avoid Hampton Manor: Uncompassionate and Deceiving Family-Run Facility"
I highly recommend avoiding Hampton Manor. We selected this facility for our mother who suffers from Alzheimer's, thinking that because it was family owned and operated, she would receive compassionate and personalized care. They promised us that our mother would be treated as a member of their family, but we soon discovered that couldn't be further from the truth. This family is nothing but cold and ruthless. Don't be deceived by their pleasant demeanour or pretty exterior - we were and it was a mistake. I wish we had been given a heads up!

"Shocking Treatment at Assisted Living Facility Hits Hard"
KEEP OUT! I can't even express how harsh and mean the higher-ups of this place are. To cut to the chase: we assumed we'd found a place where my Alzheimer's-stricken mother would thrive. They said all the right things, made us feel welcome, and offered a helping hand as we got ready for this challenging shift. But 24 hours before we were to move our mom there, we heard, "corporate has had second thoughts and there's no vacancy after all". No more details were given and no one from the corporate team had the decency to return our desperate voicemails or emails. We never found out why this happened. Typically when I see a bad review, I wonder about the full story. Trust me when I say this place really had no good reason to back out last minute. They claimed a third-generation family owner - - ran this facility and was hands-on with the residents and staff. We never even got to speak to. Deciding to put our mom in assisted living was a huge undertaking; we'd just come to terms with it when this company tossed our lives into chaos and didn't even have the basic decency to explain why. I've never seen such a vile act or the level of cowardice shown by the entire corporate team. If you're considering admitting a loved one to a memory care or assisted living place, I can't emphasize enough how terrible these folks are. The only silver lining was revealing their true colors before my mother entered their care.

"Caring and compassionate staff treat residents like family"
My husband has been at 24th Rd. The peace of mind I have knowing he is cared for with such compassion and understanding is incredible. Our family cannot thank everyone enough for the quality of care and concern shown to him. I’ve spent many years in the medical field, from administrator to internal medicine doctor for 10 years, then as a unit secretary in a Rochester hospital for 7 years, and finally semi-retiring to volunteer in health care and assisted living. So I know firsthand what it takes to do the work done at Hampton Manor 24th Rd in Ocala, Florida. When Ron’s dementia and Alzheimer's made him paranoid and unsafe, I was heartbroken. He had already beaten the odds by surviving lung cancer 16 years ago, when they said he had just a year to live! But this terrible disease started taking over his body. My son and I looked at many places nearby but then heard of Hampton Manor. Heartbroken, we decided to check it out. The first thing I noticed was the residents’ eyes. Instead of anxiety or fear, I saw smiles and contentment. The facility was bright, clean, and had no odor at all. The staff? Absolutely top-notch. Within 15 minutes, I knew hecould be happy there. He was excited to go to his new "home." It has now been six months since Ron moved in, and I am so thankful for every staff member. They treat him like family, and when I leave, I know he is in the best place possible. As he fights this awful disease, I thank God every night for the love and compassion they give him, and for treating him with the dignity he deserves. Our family will never forget the care they show Ron.

"Avoid! Supervision and Cleanliness Are Issues Here!"
My mom stayed here around a year and a half. I noticed the place wasn't kept as clean over time, but what was worse was that they didn't watch over the people living here as much as they should have. Some of the folks there were quite rowdy and weren't supervised well. Of course, we had to find a better place for Mom. So, I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living: Honesty Appreciated, Improvements Needed"
We arrived at the facility and found the door locked. After ringing the bell for a while, a nurse eventually let us in. However, the medicine cart was left unattended. I asked about it, and the nurse explained that the power had gone out, which caused the humidity and numerous fans running. Despite the inconvenience, I appreciated the honesty and effort to help the residents. As we walked down the hall, there was a noticeable smell of urine. Despite these issues, the staff were friendly and accommodating.

On the bright side, the staff were friendly.
