"Mixed Experience at HarborChase Assisted Living"
It's tough to find help at HarborChase. When you do, they might redirect you or make you ask at the front desk. It feels like there's no one available. Disposing of things after a loved one passes away is also challenging. The lack of staff causes inconvenience. Communication with administration is okay, but the actual workers rarely reach out. On the bright side, the facility is beautifully decorated and generally acceptable.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
I'd say to others that the staff didn't respond quickly to our worries. When she rang for help, it took 20-30 minutes for them to come. Sometimes she'd be left in bed until 10:30 AM before anyone helped her up. They weren't careful about her meds until we got involved. Still waiting for a refund for the time she wasn't there. If your loved one is more independent, it might be okay. But for the care she needed, it wasn't a good fit for us.

"Limited Activities, Clean Environment"
The food and dining service are nice, and they work hard to keep the place clean. Because of COVID restrictions, the activities are limited.

"Lovely community with caring staff, diverse activities, and great value."
This place was really nice, and the boss was awesome. They had fun stuff to do, and our family member got to do a lot of it. The person in charge of activities was really good, and it's a good deal.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
This was before COVID. When my mom was here, getting her in went smoothly. They were quick when we called, helpful during the move. It was clean, with activities, and enough staff. But, talking to the nurse and arranging doctor visits was tough. Also, sorting out paperwork, like lab results, was hard. After my mom died, they didn't contact us, which hurt.

"Harbor Chase Facility: A Nightmare with Absent Management and Poor Care"
This facility is a total disaster, managed by a so-called Director who never picks up calls nor is present when needed. You should know that my mom lived here for two years, and countless times I found her oxygen levels at zero. The management wrote it off as simple mistakes. They shipped my mom off to a rehab center and wouldn't let her come back for a month. She walked out of the place, but after three weeks, she was forced to use a wheelchair because she forgot how to walk. No one from the facility ever bothered to check on my mom or our family during this hard time. When my mother passed away, my final memory of her was holding her while I sobbed uncontrollably. One of the Harbor Chase nurses made me feel dirty for this, telling my husband I could catch something. Save for one decent nurse and a couple of CNAs, this place is dreadful. I urge you to run, not walk, away from here!

"Unfriendly Staff and Absent Director Ruin Assisted Living Experience"
This isn't exactly an assisted living facility, it feels more like a nursing home. It's pretty hard to find the director - feels like they're never around. Plenty of the staff members here aren't very kind, friendly, or professional, with the only exceptions being about three people who work really hard. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone, not even someone I didn't like!

"Impressive Staff and Lovely Community, but Pricey"
This community is lovely, and my tour went smoothly. I'd feel at ease if my mom moved here. The staff's interactions with residents impressed me. However, the prices exceeded our budget.

"Great service, clean environment, and friendly staff at Harbor Chase"
We’re really happy with everything at Harbor Chase. The staff is nice and always ready to help, the place is clean and tidy, and the food is delicious. We especially like Veronica, the Director, because she’s very involved and easy to reach.

A bit of advice
"Avoid at All Costs - Disrespectful Staff and Hidden Charges"
I absolutely would not recommend this place to anybody! It's a real shame, but this facility only seems to care about digging into your family's pockets. They'll tell you whatever it takes to get you to move in and then switch everything around once you're there, or worse, when a loved one has passed away. They make you pay a full month's fee upfront, even if you move in part way through the month. They say they will sort it out in the second month, but I don't understand who would agree to that - you should only pay for what you use! And if something tragic like your loved one passing away happens within the first month (like mine did, only after 1 week), they won't refund you any of the money they shouldn't have taken. They'll just keep finding ways to charge you more until they've drained you dry. One crucial piece of advice is never to sign a contract as the "responsible party". Instead, sign as a Power of Attorney (POA) for your loved one. Otherwise, they will relentlessly pursue you legally and stress you out during an already tough grieving period. Their staff doesn't respect the residents' wishes, nor do they listen to instructions from Hospice or the family. They also seem incapable of providing the necessary documents to the hospital when a resident needs to be taken there via ambulance. We had to bring the paperwork to the facility at 11 PM so they could fax it to the hospital. We had given them these documents when we signed the contract, but they lost them, showing their lack of organization and disrespect for my loved one. To add to our already terrible experience, the care staff rudely told the funeral home driver to "hurry up" when my loved one passed away. She didn't even offer for him to use a different, more discreet exit. This was so incredibly disrespectful, and I never want anyone else to experience this.
