"Not Recommended for Loved Ones"

The assisted living place had all the fancy certifications, but it turned out to be terrible. The managers cared more about money than the people living there. They fired the good staff and kept the bad ones. The nursing and staff ignored us, and the memory care unit smelled like pee. We complained, but nothing changed. There weren't enough staff, and things were poorly managed. The only positive was the food – it was tasty. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place for your loved ones.

"Good for Independent Residents, Not for Those Needing More Care"

My review shows that if you are fully independent, this place is great. But if you have a health problem that gets worse over time, they tend to ignore it. The staff never told me about problems that my loved one's friends saw and told me about.

"Needs Improvement: Care and Communication Lacking"

They don’t have enough staff. I’m really upset because they never answer me. I’ve been trying to change a medicine for my family member for three months now. I’ve even tried talking to the big bosses, but no luck. It feels like they think once you put someone in the memory care part, you can’t take them out, so they don’t bother much. The nurse is not nice and doesn’t listen to what I ask. She’s ignored me a lot. They keep changing the people who work there, so it’s hard for the folks living there to get the same care all the time. The carpets in the main areas smell bad because they get peed on a lot. They clean a lot, but the smell stays. I’ve asked them to change the carpet or put in different floors, but they won’t. They also don’t clean my family member’s room well enough. It seems like they don’t make enough effort to get him to take showers or join in activities. The only times those happen is when I’m there to help. The food is good, though. They give out three meals every day. Maybe they could give some snacks too, because my family member gets hungry between meals. Sometimes things get lost, which I get happens, but when his glasses went missing, they didn’t seem to care much. It feels like they promise you a great place, but once you sign up and pay, they stop caring. They’ve also changed the people in charge since we’ve been there. It’s been a sad experience. My family member is doing better with the routine there, but they could do so much more. They haven’t listened to my worries or suggestions at all. It’s like talking to a wall with them. They’re really bad at talking to us. I know it’s tough to get people with memory issues to do activities, but they shouldn’t just quit. If something’s not working, they should keep trying to find stuff that the residents like and want to do.

"HarborChase: A Clean, Friendly Assisted Living Community"

We're quite happy with HarborChase. My husband is settling in nicely and enjoys the community. They have plenty of amenities, and I'd suggest it to friends and family. The environment doesn't smell like a typical nursing home—it's very clean!

"Assisted Living Facility Review"

The rooms were smaller, but the community was nice. However, they changed the offer after I left.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"

Harborchase of Dr. Phillips was pretty good. It seemed too fancy, and it cost a lot.

"Low cost, but very poor care"

The price might be okay, but they really need to better care for the people there. Our family had to take our relative away not long after moving them in. It was just too terrible.

"Mixed Feelings About HarborChase"

Our visit to HarborChase went well. The facility seemed nice overall, but the layout for independent living was too spread out, and the walk to the main lobby was quite far.

"New Director Struggles Amidst Broken Promises at HarborChase"

Even with their new boss trying her hardest, HarborChase just isn't living up to what they told us they'd be. They boasted about being super welcoming to families, but all they do now is let us hang out in the lobby. The team that cares for the residents doesn't seem to care all that much, and they sure aren't living up to their word. It kind of feels like we screwed up coming here.

"Well-Kept Community with Tasty Meals and Good Activities"

Our loved one was there for a short time, but the community was really nice and clean. The meals looked really tasty, and there were a lot of activities for the residents to do. Sometimes it seemed like they didn't have enough staff, but we understand it was because of the pandemic, so we don't blame them for that. Our loved one really did well and thrived there.

"A pandemic-friendly community with few restrictions for visiting loved ones."

Our family appreciated that even during the pandemic, the community had few restrictions, allowing us to visit our loved one. We recommend this community to others.
