"Friendly Staff, Some Concerns About Management"
When I first visited, there were plenty of staff who were friendly and talkative. But since then, there have been staffing problems that make me uneasy. There is a temporary director now, but the other issues still worry me. I must say that staff is wonderful, and we’ve been very happy with her help from the start! She even helped serve dinner when the kitchen staff quit, which isn't something you'd expect a sales director to do. She goes above and beyond!

"Confusing Maze Layout Frustrates Dementia Patients at HarborChase"
We visited HarborChase of Tallahassee, and it felt like a confusing maze with circular hallways on different floors. This setup is tough for people with dementia, like my dad. That’s why we decided not to pick this facility.

"Unsatisfactory Assisted Living Facility with Poor Communication and Cleanliness Issues"
Our experience here wasn't good with our loved one. They have a new boss now, though. Hopefully, things are better because people weren't doing their jobs. Our loved one started in Assisted Living and then went to the Memory Care Unit. We chose this place mainly because they allow pets only in Assisted Living and with a pet deposit. But we had to move her to Memory Care later. When we moved her, her new place wasn't clean, so we had to clean it ourselves. We didn't get the care we were promised in Memory Care, like staff spending time with her. The only help she got was from outside staff nurse, therapist, etc. The regular staff said they'd work with her once she settled, but they never did. Talking to the family was bad. For the money it costs to live here, you'd expect better. The cost is high, like for a top facility, but this place isn't top-notch. The cost isn't everything included, either. Prices vary based on care level and needs, so it changes. I wouldn't recommend this place to family or friends.

"Memory Care Unit Feels Too Institutional at HarborChase of Tallahassee"
We visited HarborChase of Tallahassee. The building looked nice outside and seemed well-maintained. The memory care unit felt very institutional, though. I guess that’s just how it is, but it didn’t seem right for my loved one.

"Understaffed Assisted Living Struggles to Meet Resident Needs"
The people working at this place are really nice, but there aren't enough of them. If you can, maybe check out other places because this one doesn't have enough staff to help everyone. The tour was okay, they told me everything I needed to know, but they can't give my loved one the care they need right now.

"Nice Place, Needs More Memory Care Staff"
This is a very nice community. The staff are really good, but there's a lot of turnover right now and they need more staff for memory care. They have activities like a game room and arts and crafts for the residents, but it seems to happen only once a week, not every day.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs Major Improvements"
We drove by the place and it looked sad and old. Our relative's friends either left or passed away. Needs to get better.

"Small but cozy, not the best fit for Dad."
I visited at 11:30 on Friday. The place is tiny. It feels like a big family there. It's nice, but I don't think it's right for my Dad.

"Bottom Grade Care: A Deficient Assisted Living Experience"
This assisted living place really let my aunt down. They made all these great promises when we came to check it out, but they never followed through. We had to keep reminding them to do her laundry and clean her room like they said they would, and her bathroom was always gross. They said they would help her take baths three times a week, but they hardly ever showed up. Staff there barely talked to the people living there or tried to get them to do fun stuff outside their rooms. And the food was so bad, half the time you couldn't even tell what it was supposed to be. Whenever we complained to the boss, it was clear they didn't care at all. I was never sure if they were giving her medicine the right way. Overall, it's a really terrible place to put someone you care about.

"Lacking Caregiver Presence and Engagement in Older Assisted Living Facility"
This place seems a bit older, but it was really clean when I visited. One thing I didn't like was that I hardly saw the caregivers around, which I think is super important in a memory care unit. Another issue was the number of caregivers compared to the people living there. Having enough caregivers is really important. Also, when I walked around, I didn't see the staff interacting with the residents or doing activities with them.

"High Praise for Harborchase Assisted Living, with One Reservation"
I visited Harborchase while considering care for a family member. I checked out a few places nearby, and this one impressed me as really nice! The building was well-maintained and clean, and all the staff I met were friendly and acted professionally. My only concern was that it was one of the pricier options we looked at.

"Mixed Experience at Harbor Chase"
My experience was mostly in the memory care unit at Harbor Chase. The care managers were friendly and understood residents’ quirks. However, the facility could be cleaner, and communication wasn’t always great. It’s expensive, and the floors shouldn’t be sticky. We appreciated the care, but there are some issues.
