"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

The staff who work here every day are really friendly, but the higher-ups don’t communicate well. Sometimes the care isn’t consistent. It’s not super expensive, but it’s not the cheapest either. The meals have been good, but the activities were better when the old activities director was in charge. Our loved one enjoys bingo, but the transportation bus doesn’t always work, and the service elevator has been broken since July.

"Negligence and Safety Risks in Imperial Club Elevators"

I've been to The Imperial Club at Aventura six times. On five of those visits, only one of their two elevators was running. This place has 14 floors of people living there and just a pair of elevators. That's a huge fire risk. I told the front desk about it once and they didn't seem to care. If a fire happens and someone gets hurt because they can't get out due to the lack of working elevators, I want this noted for neglect and responsibility. I waited around seven minutes to get on the elevator once and it headed straight to the 12th floor. While coming down, a maintenance guy used a key to skip every floor until he hit ground level. I thought this was pretty mean. So many old folks could have been waiting on their floors. From the photos I've included, you can see people standing in front of the broken elevator. I blacked out..

"Elevator Trouble Makes Meals Late, Otherwise Nice Assisted Living"

There's a problem at this place my loved one's at. They got 2 elevators but only 1 works since she moved in. They haven't fixed it yet. She's up high, so it takes forever to get to meals. It's a mess. But, besides that, she likes the place and the services are good.

"Assisted Living Lacks Help and Community During COVID Times"

This place offers no help, it's all independent. If you need assistance like fixing a TV, they won't help. They keep the pool and activities closed, yet we're still paying. It takes many emails for admin to respond, and no one picks up the phone. They've given no support during COVID, and there's no sense of community here.

"Affordable Assisted Living with Room for Improvement"

We picked Imperial Club because it fit our budget. The apartment is spacious, around 700 square feet. However, the staff could improve communication with family members. They changed management without notifying me, which I didn't like. Still, I'd recommend it to other families.

"Solid Choice for Seniors!"

This place seems really good! The cost is fair, they haven’t had any COVID cases, and the staff checks in on residents often.

"Serious Decline in Quality and Safety"

My mom has been living at the Imperial Club for some time now. Initially, it seemed like a well-managed and respectable place for older people in the neighborhood. Sadly, it seems to have gone downhill recently, especially in these past six months. The elevators are constantly breaking down and that's a major concern. Quite often, at least one of them is out of order; think about what would happen if there was an emergency and someone needed medical aid quickly. Besides the elevator problems, the carpets are worn out and dirty. The furniture looks like it's mismatched, secondhand stuff you'd find in a thrift store. Plus, my mom says that the food is becoming less appealing. What used to be a nice, comfortable place, now feels more like a poorly maintained building. Those in charge should feel embarrassed. But the biggest worry has to be the dangerous situation with the elevators; it's a huge risk for the residents. At this stage, I just can't recommend this place anymore. It's really sad.

"A wonderful place for loved ones!"

This place is amazing. They take great care of my loved one, and my loved one really enjoys being here. There are lots of activities to keep everyone busy. I even had lunch with my loved one, and it was really good.

"A Friendly, Well-Managed Place with Great Food and Activities"

When we first visited The Imperial Cub, we felt it was a really friendly and well-managed place. The staff made us feel welcome, the residents were chatting with each other, and the place was bright and cozy. Their dining room is great, and the food tastes really good. There are lots of activities to pick from, and the transportation for personal errands and doctor’s visits is excellent. My dad has been living there for a month now, and he is very happy.

"Lovely Tour"

My visit to this community went really well. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. The place looks awesome, but it's a bit far from my family. Besides that, the tour was great. They even offered me a meal to try, and the food is delicious. Overall, it's a lovely community.

"Lovely place, but more independent living focused than assisted living."

I visited this place when considering care for a family member. The place was clean and tidy, and everyone I talked to was nice and seemed to know what they were doing. But it seemed like they were more about people living on their own. They do have a section for people who need more help, but I felt like my family member would do better in a place that focuses more on helping them.

"Friendly Staff"

for my dad because it's one of the few places in the area with affordable one-bedroom units. It turned out to be a good choice—the staff is really friendly and helpful.

"Grateful for amazing care at the Imperial Club!"

My mother, Carolyn, lived at the Imperial Club for almost two years. When she first arrived, she was a bit scared and didn't trust anyone. The staff, especially Spring, Jenny, and Alta, were incredible. They provided amazing care, and the aides on the 5th floor treated her with kindness and respect, just as I hope to receive in my later years. I am so grateful for the staff at the Imperial Club. Words can’t express how thankful I am for these wonderful people. Their work is a special calling, and they made my mother's final days as comfortable as possible.

"You gave me my life back!"

How do you say goodbye to an amazing group of professionals who gave me my life back? I came to see them as friends, not just staff. When my mom's dementia got worse and she couldn’t care for herself, she became aggressive and uncooperative. My peace of mind and life changed completely. I received phone calls from the police, neighbors, and family, all warning me about her situation, but I felt helpless to protect her. Then I found The Imperial Club after doing my research on different facilities. Choosing The Imperial Club was the best decision I could have made. Alta, the Director of Nursing, and her team are the most caring professionals. They took care of everything and kept me updated on my mom’s condition. Jenny, the Resident Manager, and the staff worked hard to encourage my mom to join in activities at the club. Even when she didn’t want to participate, they still visited her apartment to check on her. The Dietary Department made sure she had meals she would eat and served them to her when she didn’t want to eat in the dining room. On the fifth floor where my mom lived, the nurses were warm, patient, and caring, even when my mom wasn’t easy to handle. The Front Desk and Concierge staff were always welcoming and friendly, as were the Engineering and Maintenance teams. The facility was always clean and well-maintained. The daily activities and holiday celebrations were top-notch. I could keep recommending this place to anyone with an elderly relative or friend who needs a place that offers peace of mind, excellent care, and a family-like atmosphere, not just people doing a job. For the past year and a half, you all have been my security blanket and my sanity. I dread the thought that my mom's care must now move on from your wonderful facility.

"Adequate Experience at Imperial Club"

The Imperial Club is okay. The staff is great, and my brother has been enjoying the delicious food. I can't rate the care services, but everything seems pretty good. My brother is happy.

"Everyone is living better and happier"

After struggling to care for my difficult, combative, and negative mother, things reached a breaking point, and I was finally able to place her at the Imperial Club. About a year earlier, I had done my research, visiting several places and considering keeping her at home with round-the-clock help, knowing that assisted living would eventually be necessary. Even though she had been prescribed meds, my mother refused to take them. She also wouldn’t accept food deliveries, wore dirty clothes, refused to let her cleaning lady do laundry, didn’t maintain the house, couldn’t handle her finances, and constantly fought with me. She was even hallucinating. As an only child, it was all on me. While that meant no one else to share the burden, it also meant no one else to argue with. Keeping her at home would’ve been a nightmare. She would have fought with any assistant and made things even more chaotic. Then came the Imperial Club. The facilities, staff, nurses, and administration have given my mother the care, food, medication, and companionship she was missing. For me, it’s been a breath of fresh air, knowing she’s in good hands. They manage every part of her care, make sure she takes her meds, and she’s now pleasant, cooperative, and well-fed. She still hallucinates, but she’s seeing familiar faces like her parents, my dad, and her brother, so it's okay! I can’t praise the Imperial Club enough.

"The value matched the services."

They had more medical services than where she is now, but they only offer assisted living, not a memory unit. The place was clean and friendly, and the value was fair for what they provide.
